Dear luvly,

Thanks a lot for the detailed comments.

I liked the Archana-Savita segment only because it was such a pleasant surprise. I do not think it will DO any good, except for viewers like me who cannot stand any more of rona dhona.

As for the Monster-in-Law's (I to like the name, but it is tiresome for typing out, what with the 2 capitals and the 2 hyphens) grand revelation on Thursday, what I am hoping (very hard, even against hope) is that on learning the truth. Teju, after a minute of stunned silence, will run across to Archana, hug her, and burst into tears.

At that moment (if ever it happens) I shall be focussing on Savita's face. It would be a treat!! I don't much care what Ovi does; in the end she always follows Teju's lead. Thus will Savita's goose be well and truly cooked, and this time I WILL dance a celebratory jig.

Lastly, I do not remember the precap showing Purvi making any decision to tell all, either to Archana or to Arjun. I think she will do nothing for the present, let us see. As for the truth being the best bet, it depends a great deal on the circumstances. At times, it can become a self-indulgent exercise in relieving one's own conscience at the cost of great pain for others.

Shyamala...Teju wud surely realize Archana's goodness...but for that treat we will hav to wait for sometime, coz as per the article, both the sisters will blast Archana after knowing the truth...but later , slowly Teju wil realize that Archana is not wrong!!!!! n yeah, wenevr that scene wil come, Savita's face wud be worth watching for sure!!!! All her scheming n plotting of 18 years is going to go waste afterall!!!!!😆
not theprecap, but Purvi's last lines in yesterday's episodde were "Ovi has shown so much trust in me n shared everything wid me n gave me all the responsibility, n in order to save myself, I won't put Ovi's life at stake...I have to go home soon n tell Archana everything n that Punni is behind all this...", so this is a brave decision that Purvi has taken...hope she succeeds in telling the truth to Archana, but I dun think so that it will happen bcoz Ovi-Teju are on their way to Mumbai n after that Savita is goin to create a big drama, so I dun think in between all this Purvi will get time to talk to Archana...lets hope for the best!!!!!!!!😛

We all seem to be in agreement for the first time 😆 I agree with the too much of muchness. Punni clearly had the upperhand, was a little disappointed with Purvi's reaction today, she could have been a little fiesty and told her cousin off that she did not knowingly fall in love with her sister's fiance and that there was no chakkar - on second thoughts - that would be admittance to guilt of sorts and Purvi is better off keeping mum but her facial expressions seemed wooden today. (Not criticizing my beti just the way the scene was put together! 😃)

Bee, the way I saw Purvi insist on Arjun listening in to her conversation with Ovi, (yes, she should not have as Ovi was pouring out her feelings of insecurity but Purvi perhaps did not know this going into the conversation?), was -
1) Purvi feels more secure in her relationship with Arjun than she lets on - she trusts he will not share that she did this and she is comfortable sharing her conversations with him (much like a husband and wife?). Ovi on the other hand still has some barriers where Arjun is concerned inspite of the bond they share, she is not willing to expose her deepest vulnerabilities about him to him. Purvi has no such hang-ups, she lets him know every step of the way that he has hurt her and that she did let down her guard with him. Unconsciously, but I see that she is very, very sure of him in her own way, not about the fact that he will own up to Ovi any time soon but about their sense of belonging despite their present situation and misunderstanding.
2) reason why she wanted Arjun to listen to the conversation? my take was a bit different on this. I think it is a combination, of your reason 2 and something more. She wants to let him know that Ovi is deeply in love with him and that in insisting to carry on with her, Purvi, he is bound to hurt Ovi. Not that she herself doesn't want Arjun but that it is an impossible situation and that she is nearly at the end of her tether. "Look what you have done, are you guilty now? You are going to hurt her, you have already hurt me. See where your cowardice has brought all of us, I don't think you can get out of this as easily as you think however long you take. You let me down, make sure you don't let her down at least." Arjun read all this and hence, his guilt ridden face.

Hi Shyamala, well said👏...Bee liked ur post too.
But the last part, i agree here with Janhvi about Purvi trying to enlighten Arch's "dense-head" ladla (loved Arch's comment about him not seeing the barn door even though it is painted red!!!) that see "kis mod par lakar khada kar diya hai- and you know saying okay if at the engagement you could not tell everyone becoz of you Dad, Manav Uncle and Ovi's izzat and respect, arre uske baad to bata deta!!! I am feeling so bad for Arjun and how badly the CVs are trashing him...Purvi's expressions (even though "much of muchness" were terrific).
Yes, Arjun too has everyone's trust right now- what backlash he will face- from all the trusting parties- and to what extent- only time will tell. But man, he does not get what a horrible situation he has created not only for Purvi and himself but also Ovi...and where is DK...DK...
Janhvi, i liked ur analysis on the subconcious level of trust that Purvi has in Arjun's love and that i feel is true and comes out very well in your post 😊

Dear Shyamala,
Have only hurriedly read this thread...but simply loved you calling Taraka MONSTER-in-law...hilarious...🤣
But all else aside, Arjun did portray the same old emotions and the new guilt emotions very well. RD is a great actor. Loved Purvi and Jia's acting too...simply funtastik...Bechara Arjun, kab uski lines badlengi...CVs are not even giving him a chance...and i liked ur carbon copy scenes analogy too...not to forget the purpose of doors and keyholes in hindi soaps...ha ha...really well put...

- I agree Purvi is also secure about her relationship with Arjun.

- Fine, she wants to show the wrong he is doing by not telling Ovi, but what about what she told Ovi ? That she never loved anyone? How will she look in front of Ovi when the truth comes out? Our confident Purvi, has she thought about that before telling those powerful dialogues of breaking trust, making Arjun feel guilty? Wouldn't Ovi question her with the same "I trusted you and you broke my trust?"

Purvi comes across looking confused. Externally she doesn't want Arjun, but internally quite the opposite.😆

Bee, I think at that point Purvi is so bent on making Arjun rue the day of the engagement that she forgets Ovi is still on the line😆 There is a significant pause in the conversation as she glares accusingly at Arjun, the conversation in her mind is between Arjun and her. Even Ovi realizes there is silence on the other end and is confused for an instant until she hears Teju's voice and cuts short the conversation. Purvi wants to hurt Arjun with that lie and she is not thinking of the consequence of that lie. She is at the end of her tether as I said and I think she has all but given up hope that he will ever muster the courage to set things right between them. She does not doubt his love but she does doubt his guts to do anything about it. (Left to him, they could silently love each other forever and he might come clean on his deathbed after fathering umpteen children with Ovi perhaps!) I think her resolve to step aside for Ovi vaccilates with each encounter with Arjun. If she really was firm about it, she would not keep throwing his shortcomings at his face every opportunity she gets, she likes to rub it in hard and deep and in my mind he deserves every bit of it. 😆

Dear Ashu,

Thanks for the kind words. As for the title, I always knew that 'like the curate's egg' meant something that was good in parts, but I never checked up the why and how of the curate. The Wiki entry about this is very entertaining, and has an excellent 19th century illustration as well. Do look it up.

As far as our duo is concerned, I am beginning to get terminally fed up of both of them, and with Purvi in the first place. If you have the time, ltake a ook at my response to bee5 and Janhvi a little earlier in this thread.

Dear Abhi,

@comment in red.It is not clear to me which post of mine you are talking about here, the original curate's egg post or the later response to Janhvi and bee5 in this same thread.

As for Janhvi's post, to which you have responded here, if you have seen, or see my second post mentioned above, you will have my take on this. It is totally at odds with and has very little in common with Janhvi's, except in the conclusion that Purvi is now so obsessed with hitting out at Arjun that these repetitive diatribes are aimed at only thing, making him feel more and more guilty. It has become an end in itself for her. As for the ""kis mod par lakar khada kar diya hai", she has already said in, in exactly the same terms, at least three times, and mostly at a pitch that would shatter glass.

A girl with a bit more of pride, self respect and dignity would not make such a sad figure of herself every time she lands up in Arjun's office to report on things that could just as well have been conveyed over the phone. (He does not call her, does he ?- she comes on her own). Nor would she demean herself but endlessly moaning about how much she has suffered and is suffering because of him. It is deplorable.

The other thing: if it was her Manav Baba who was concerned, Purvi would instantly extend him blanket absolution for all his sins and acts of omission, which are far more serious than Arjun's. After all, Manav left his wife of many years to fend for herself for 18 long years, without making the slightest attempt to see how she was getting along or whether she needed any help.
