@ shyamala you said: "However, and I repeat myself on this, there can be no salvaging of his relationship with Purvi till he has got Ovi out of his system. He must do this now as soon as he can, without waiting for that court case to be resolved. That was in any case a stupid idea."
Shyamala...i appreciate your desire to stick up for Arjun a little bit with just this one caveat, however, i would like to comment. I am not just "angry" at Arjun for all of this, i think it shows a real defect in his moral character. I am the first one to forgive a mistake, but this reveals a lot of very unsettling things about Arjun's character. He would rather take the easy road out than to be honest. He has allowed a public display of intended betrothal between him and Ovi when he knows it isn't going to happen, that it is based on a lie. Every day, no, every minute he procrastinates, he hurts Ovi more, (the one he says he is protecting), he hurts Purvi more, (the one he says he loves) and he hurts his family more. (the one he says is so important). I don't believe that Arjun is doing any of this for someone else, I think he is doing it because he has no moral compass and is protecting himself, no one else.
I really loved Arvi for a long time, i defended both of them as they were new at love. But what i see here, now, after all this time, is a huge red flag for me. A lack of moral strength is different than honest or even confused mistakes. I feel the Arjun they have portrayed is an opportunist. He is playing both ends against the middle. (which means to try to make two people or groups compete with each other in order to get an advantage for yourself. ) I know that is strong thing to say, but it is how i feel now. Unless he realizes how selfish and self centered he is being, i will be very very upset with Purvi for continuing to love him. It's still a business deal for him.
To me it's very different than the Archana-Manav-Shravani track. Manav never made any pretense of loving Shravani, in fact, the opposite. As Tanya recently pointed out, he told her over and over he would never love her and everyone knew how much Manav and Archu loved each other. (which of course made it the stupidest track ever)...but here Arjun is pretending to love one person publicly, playing this game, and crying like a victim to gain the love and adoration of another. It's not even the same as a married man falling in love with another woman. There, one expects the man to remain loyal to his wife. but to proceed with a new marriage with one while loving the other just for appearances sake.. Even if he said to Purvi, look it's you i love, but i must for business and family reasons, marry Ovi...even that would be different. But he is not. He is, i repeat, playing both ends against the middle. Playing both girls hearts for his own comfort. Not good.
