The one point I really really agree with the topic starter is if one should leave thier spouse and marriage for such single incident? I laugh when I read such comments. Will they behave same way in real life too?! Be practical yaar!

Another post I agreed with is Varsha's about the like button. It is the most biased creation! :-/ That's the reason I never press it.

i agree wid u abt Manav's reactions..so true and he really didnt said Archana wanted to burn her but her sillyness costed his sick(acc to him) mother and we all know Manav from Day 1 of PR as a emotional guy..so i'm wid Manav completely..

i dun blame Archana also cos watever her actions are for good causes and yes'day i liked how she didnt gave up and told him the whole truth and even Manav calmed down before she came and dats why he listened otherwise if he was like the first scene he wouldnt have listened to her at all..

the one thing i really lked yes'day epi is dey behaved like a normal couple but also dey didnt behaved foolishly anywhere and gave up dere marriage like dey did it after dere first marriage..now dey actually value there relationship which is a good thing..

@SOTD,FOTD threads..see dis is a open forum and whoever likes/loves a charecter comes dere and visits and votes dem...its the understanding of the charecter nuthing else.. one can openly express dere views and discuss abt the show..i dun see any wrong in it :)))

I agree with the Topic Starter, off late this forum has turned into a fan forum, not a show discussion forum.. sadly like Almost every forum in IF.

I am not an active member at all, but I have been following since year almost, and I really really loved how ppl initially would just stick to *character* and show discussion, and yes ofcourse characters were bashed for their stupidity .. and I think one leading example was KoolSadhu member, she was very good, I really really feel she was quite an asset ot the forum, in the sense that the CVs often implemented her list of "Cvs please show this this or this..*. I almost felt that her posts were a way of the average viewer to vent out the frustration and those ideas actually getting to the Cvs. In fact her post were a great example, where there was absolutely no character/star unneccesary praising.

And frankly I strong feel that the absense of Kool Sane Commentary, is the biggest biggest loss of this forum and even the show. The forum was super active with her discussions, attracted alot of audiences, even if you didnt watch the show, you would still read the commentary for the homour, and more imp these CVs are dumb and repititive, and they honestly needs threads with good suggestions to chorify ideas for their upcomming story line.. pity..

Sadly none of htat remains anymore, ppl just keep singing praises of Archana or arman or whoever, no one is ever ready to accept archana's mistake as long as her actions are sugar coated.

Now this forum has become like any other, where you must always abide the actions of the Female lead... pity..

That beign said, I am not at all attacking the other two solid threads we have running on this forum SOTD and FOTD.. they are very nicely run, I just get really pissed at the results sometimes, but then again that is viewers choice, so we cant really change that either..

I agree with the topic starter in essence regarding the evident bias on the forum and the lack of variety of opinions or even an environment susceptive to them.

Yet, I don't think anyone can be blamed for an opinion they hold. Not a single person on all of IF can nor will be completely objective or unbiased. I am not addressing this part to anyone in particular, but speaking generally, if 60 people go and vote for a character then it's their perogative. Many of us may not agree with it or perhaps see it as them being "fanatics" but that is in the end their choice and opinion. We all have opinions whether based on experiences, moral teachings, general world views, some type of literature - be it theological, philosophical, modern etc - or we may even base a liking on how pretty we find someone. I don't see how anyone's thoughts can be found wrong by another, everyone has a different way of looking at things. If someone wants to come on a forum to drool over leads or praise a certain character then it is their choice, nobody should feel forced to have diverse opinions or to participate in a discourse on the show as a whole. On the same note, if anybody has converse opinions, then they should not feel forced to like any character or storyline and should feel free to write their comments and criticisms on the same.
However, that said, I do find the environment to be quite hostile these days. I placed a large emphasis on feel above because more than anything I find the current issues to be caused by the environment and general judgements but rarely - though true in some cases - the direct comments of anyone. Along with a few others, I've been visiting and posting in this forum almost since it began, and I haven't even seen the forum this closed off. It's as if posting views for or against certain characters will invite only backlash from one group and I will thus become a "basher", but if I choose to write or praise something about the leads or actors then I will receive criticism from the other end and be labeled off as a "fanatic". The middle ground of discussions has disappeared and it seems that no opinion can be written without somebody judging you or passing comments whether directly or indirectly. While some may say that nobody is stopping anyone from posting, I will again emphasize the feel of the forum; many may not feel it and perhaps find everything dandy, but for some of us the hostility is evident - even if not directed at any of us personally. Yes, I do know that we will all be judged day to day in our lives, but this was one place that was not like that, which is why it seems all the more depressing that this is what it has come to.

There was a time when I had defended the somewhat.. umm.. 'controversial' results of SOTD on this forum (when that Dharmesh factory strike track was going on), by saying that everyone had a different opinion, and their opinions (which translated into votes) should be respected. That it was a democratic thread, that everyone perceived his 'star' in a different way, and everyone had the right to vote for anyone whom they found impressive in the episode, in terms of deeds most of the time, but also sometimes in terms of feeling for the characters, acting by the actors, and so on. And if you consider statistically, since the voting population was more of what we call a 'random population', it could be assumed that the bias gets balanced from all sides, there was no 'statistical bias'- persons of one trend were not 'favoured' and those of others were not 'screened out'. So that's okay.

About personal bias, everyone is biased to an extent, and that is not a crime. Many a times people analyse the show through the eyes of a particular character whom they have a leaning for. As such they are likely to feel for a particular character more than for others. Its perfectly okay by me. And everyone has a different criteria of evaluation and a different way of looking at things as well- what is 'right' to one, may not be 'right' to another. What is 'bias' to one, may not be 'bias' to another.

But today unfortunately, I can't defend it in the same way.

Cos I don't perceive it as a 'democratic' thread any more. I see it as one where a person who has contrary opinions and voices them strongly is forced to leave directly or indirectly. Precisely the reason I don't post there anymore- cos I don't want such backlash. And maybe many others too don't post or visit the thread on this count.

As such, my views on SOTD and SOTD results right now are these::::

My views on personal bias, objective-subjective remain the same as above, but I would say there is definitely a 'statistical bias'- 'the sample count' for a particular trend (Archana fans/supporters/those who sympathise with her/those who feel her actions are right/Ankita fans) is more in the sample population (voters of SOTD) , not by random, but cos of 'screening' (many other people who are non-fans/fans of others have stopped going due to reasons mentioned above- this leaves the Archana supporters as the majority in the voting population)- this was not there earlier to a large extent, EVERYONE voted on that thread earlier, and so earlier the sample population was a random population in some ways and so the statistical bias favouring Archana was less- results, even if controversial, could be accepted. Now its not so, so the results don't really hold significance for me now.

Plus, with the lack of all types of opinions on the thread, I believe the votes get swayed in favour of the strong convincing arguments from ONLY ONE SIDE, which defeats the whole purpose of discussion and polling. Its but natural.

There was a time when other people used to win SOTD if they did something good, like Ajit, Satish and so on. I still remember that Satish and Shravani won the poll on the day of ArMan reunion. Nowadays its not really like that- Archana wins every poll even if she had no concrete roll in the episode, and others had a much stronger and better part.

I wrote the other day that I respect everyone's opinions on the SOTD voting. I still do- I respect the opinions of all voting for Archana for any reason. Its just that the results have become insignificant for me personally now- cos when there is a statistical bias, we cannot accept it as a fair evaluation.

Here I would like to add it is nowhere Tanya Di's fault, she is one of the sweetest members I have ever met. In fact, its not just the thread, but the forum on the whole, which has changed nowadays. It isn't so mellow as it was previously, nor is it that friendly or tolerant. Is it any wonder then that so many people have stopped posting???

so far it was Ok , but now I am sort of getting a feeling that somewhere someone is accusing SOTD of creating a group and is the reason why people feel the forum is getting divided ..
Please if this is what your guys are thinking then tell me ...Because this is something that is not my intentions at all and I would not back anything that is creating problems for thsis forum ...
I would close it there and then ...
I do not have a problem at all if the thread gets critisized but somewhere I am getting a felling that maybe this thread is one of the reasons why some feel there is a divide in this forum ..
If this is so then pleas please let me know ...I do not wish to put in my time on anything that is negative and is doing something wrong .....

Can I say something please here now...

I am kinda getting hurt or rather more emotional in seeing some of the members leaving the forum because of all the allegations and accusations taking place here...

Ppl certainly dont like threads which create divisions.,...yes but there is nothing like everyone wants to open up such threads only to do this....we all the time open threads to invite healthy discussions and topics....which is not happening in the forums as of now...

The PR forum which I had seen is no longer to be seen here....we do like people, we dont like people but that doesnt mean that we dont want to talk abt them..why are certain threads getting targetted.,...just because they create or arouse some interest....no..its not the case....

Either we want the participation in the things where we feel is right...and start blaming others where people get feelings of not going in their way...

Sorry guys..but this issue has become out of the hands now...and ppl are not understanding the meaning of the posts getting made here....

I dont want to take on further than this...but to say that yes I am hurt too....

"Star of the Day" and the Rest of them are based on people's Vote rather IF members Vote. And those arent made for any kind of competition but just for basic Discussion Purpose. As per my knowledge the character who does well in the Epi gets voted as Star of the Day and its not based on favourtism.

With regards to the Episode yday. I feel she was right at her stand. Its just her that Savita aai reverts back to. When it's rest of the world she plain refuses to retaliate. And Archana does things on purpose to instigate Savita. Manav's reactions to the entire situation was Normal too. Any Son would never tolerate that his Mother was in pain bcoz of his wife's careless ness and so Manav being rude to Archana was justified. Events were such that there were some issues between the 2 but Archana did manage to gain Manavs trust back. I believe discussions could be done in a yet better manner than getting personal.

According to me both Manav and Archana were right at thier respective stands.
