In my opnion the godh bharai is done of a married woman who is having her first child. Shravni is not married so why godh bharai?? It is wrong. I know she was in relation with Sachin but still she was not married but she is only becoming unmarried mother. Even a widow does not have a godh bharai. AM I WRONG IN QUESTIONING THIS??? Please comment as I feel Ekta has gone too far on this.

Ds r way too broadminded when it comes to choo ...all in the name of happiness for PB...its ok as long as its done for the welfare of the unborn child....mother's unwed status shudnt deprive the the child of all aashirwaads n good-wishes...my POV

really??? I didnt know that! BUT what does your marital status have to do with your godh bharai - thats for your child...i agree with gaurimisha that why would you deprvie the child?

I thought so too ! it is usually done to married women..
Shravani is already engaged to Manav right..may be that is why they did it ! just guessing..

Godh bharai has nothing to do with you being married or not. It is assumed in our culture and its standard that you are married if your prego, but it is a not a requirment. Godh bharai is done in the 7-8 month because that is when the baby is vaible and is finally in the safe phase. Hence if the baby is pre-mature the baby will be able to survive on its own. Therefore, its a celebration to welcome and bless the new member. The mothers lap is where a child grows and is cared for, thus it is filled with gifts, fruits and blessings as a way to bless the child. IT has nothing to do with one being married. YOU SHOULD be married if your prego as a Hindu standard or custom. But if your not, it doesn't mean that you can't have a Godh bharai. Many girls do Karva Chauth if they are engaged. They keep if for their To-be-hubby to show their love. Now being married is nessary here, but its still done by unmarried females out of love for their other half. Its shown in movies all the time DDLJ for one and K3G. Ekta is known to show backward ways, but in this case I dont think she broke any rules.

Lets not be so backward to think that women that are unmarried can't have a godbharai ... I think this show is showing progressive thought, even though Sachin and Shravani were intimate before they were married, everyone has still accepted Shravani and her baby. I think we have come a long way from the time when unwed mothers were kicked out of the house and forced to fend for themselves.

Ekta mostly shows all such unrealistic stuffs in her serial! Ok doing godhbharai within 5 family members is fine, but inviting everyone specially people from their chawl & all is just soo annoying, I mean the same people attended Arman wedding, then they even attended Sachin-shravnis engagement, then Manav & shravnis engagement & now they are attending unmarried shravnis godhbharai, such things donot take place in real life!
