Even in the US they do baby Shower it's similar to our Godh barai and it's basically for the child irrespective of whether the mom is married or not.....

Ok doing godhbharai within 5 family members is fine, but inviting everyone specially people from their chawl & all is just soo annoying, I mean the same people attended Arman wedding, then they even attended Sachin-shravnis engagement, then Manav & shravnis engagement & now they are attending unmarried shravnis godhbharai, such things donot take place in real life!

I don't think there is anything unrealistic about chawl members joining in the happy moments of another chawl family. As for Manav and shravnis engagement, everyone in the chawl had tried to explain Sav. Aai not to do that to ArMan. They still do till this day. But because of that it doesn't mean they will not support them in their happiness. I think having a tight bond with neighbors is a very important and great thing to have. Sometimes those people come to help more then your own blood. I don't think anything was unrealistic. Even when Manvan made the choice to marry Shravni it was when his marriage with Archu was on rock road and they were at the verge of divorce. Things got cleared afterwards, but he is a man of his words. The only unrealistic part about this story is Shravni's obssesive nature with Manav, who at this point, is a married man. Its her blindness that is unreal. She is unable to see their love and take it upon herself to walk out of their life that is unreal. Ithink its a insult to say that inviting other members of the chawl to a happy moment unrealistic....because it does happen and thats insulting to pure feelings of those people.

I think it is sweet that they are doing her Godbharai , so what if the baby's father is no more . The baby should get lots of blessings and love .
What is wrong is Shravani's obsession with a married man who is giving up his wife to give the chid and her security ..She should take care of her child on her own , as she knows now that both Manav and Archana are very much in love .
Other than that , there is nothing wrong in this function ....

I agree with Shreyacool totally . Question is not about why God bharaaai is done .whether it is for baby or mom at all . The question is ......the society depicted in PR is closeminded INdian society . Indian society ...like it or not .........is NOT very broadminded aT ALL .........especially chawl cuture . They gossip like HELL in chawls . In such a case like Shravnis.........optimum decision wud be to call 5 women from family and bless the baby and all this wud be done discreetly .No one is against the baby here ...its just that the whole scenario of the first wife living there , dead bro , marrying his elder bro is very eMBARASSING and in real life NO one wud make embarassing facts tHIS PUBLIC and INVITE snickering .

you are right.....Chawl culture is full of gossip.......and that was shown in the earlier parts of PR, where the ladies gossiped about Sav Aai and so forth. But when Archu came to the Chawl she changed their outlook towards her family and each other. She created that bond that made the whole chawl a team. I think as much as people gossip behind your back and so forth, they are that much stronger as a team when you need them the most. There are a lot of situation that have made this story twisted. But to be honest, Marrying the wife or husband of a dead sibling happens in india. But beacuse this is a love story and drama, they had to add the facts of divorce and a living wife and so forth. If it happened in real life then y bother with TV....I would just open my window and watch my neighbors...it would be cheaper for me.........😆😉
