You know Kool , in the last few episodes I am seeing some change of attitude in Archana .
She looks a bit fed up with this entire drama. She even told Manav that strange things have happened in this house ( the sindoor , engagement etc etc ) and now this one more thing ...
Then when Manav twice extended his hand and told her to take the mangalsutra ...her answer was ' thanks but no thanks ' . He had to grab her hand and put it there .
Then she even told Varsha that she wants to go back to the house ' NOT because of myself ' , but right now I can help a distressed manav ....
After a long time I am seeing Archana disassociating herslef with manav . She pretty much says in a clam tone that Shravani is gonna be your wife and I hope you are happy with her ....
If this whole drama would not have happened tomorrow , Archu would have happily spend time with her sisters and her family ....

Funny commentary, General Kool. Suggestion: maybe one day you should put up a key for all of the names of characters, it might be confusing for newer readers of your commentary.
What is the point in the Manav-Shravani marriage now? I thought it was to save her "honor" because people would ridicule her for becoming pregnant before marriage or something along that line. Now it seems like everyone knows its dead Sachin's child: the chawl-dwellers and the neighbors know (and are fine with Shravani, I don't recall them ever saying anything to her), the Karanjkars know, now Rasika's crew knows as well, which means that essentially everyone knows or soon will. All of the people that know don't seem to have as much as a problem with Shravani being pregnant as they do with the awkward almost-divorced-wife and almost-married-pregnant-fiancee living with Manav at the same time.
But thank the lord there are normal people in PR-land. Satish and Varsha are so nice and normal. There are no dire circumstances, no religious allusions, no excessive drama, just a simple, average couple. Aaaaah, such a relief! Although Satish has been more vocal about his love, Varsha doesn't seem to have any qualms about marrying him, seems to like him a lot, and neither of the two feel uncomfortable talking about what will happen after their marriage. If there is any points system, then Satish earns a whole lot from me today for the simple, but still sweet and thoughtul comment that Varsha should wear salwar suits after marriage if those are what make her comfortable. Yay for some decent normal characters!
Rasika, although horribly mean, was being factual with some of the things she said. She meant to humiliate them, but Manav is a mechanic (well currently he's technically jobless), Damodar is an actor, Kaka really doesn't do anything (or so it seems), Archana is the first wife, and Shravani is pregnant with Sachin's child but will soon be married to Manav. One day I want to see Vandita introducing the Lokhande family, including Manjusha, in that fashion. Then Rasika could give her this vicious glare:
Who is this "Urmila" (that's what I think Satish said)? Was that Ashwin's wife's name as well? (I forgot her name as I always remembered her as Tara bhabhi from Saat Phere...)

Excellent commentary Kools, as usual.

Savita's new role of shedding tears and acting strongly felt emotions do not suit her. She is so annoying in this shade of character. When she is angry, her tone of voice and expressions reflects her strength but then when she is hurt, she hobble and cries like a helpless person. Such an extremist in nature. She needs to be taught that "do unto others as you would like done by".

Savita was crying on her daughter's shoulders when she saw her wounds and giving her the strength as not to worry that her mother will fix it all and not to be scared of anyone. What kind of support was she delivering?

I don't understand what was the reason to exhibit Sharavi (all dressed up with jewellery etc like a married woman) to the party. Did Shravani not get insulted from Rasika when she and other damodars went to Ajit's house when ajit married Vandu? Does this woman Shravani have no self respect?

Satish and Varsha seem to look cool. This cousin of Satish is a woman (I could not catch the name was something like urmila didi. So it could be Ashwani's wife. Just wait and watch, Satish. He is normal now, but could be totally become berserk after his ears are filled up. There seems to be no proper risha in this PR.

Archana tas se mas nahi hoti when she is shouted at, but in today's episode at Ajit's house, there were few moments when Archana got very upset and Versha had to press her hand to calm her down. What a drama this PR is.

Archana gave up hope of ever reuniting with Manav a long time ago, she has accepted the fact that once the time period is up their divorce will be finalized. Manav has already insulted their marriage with the sindoor and engagement to Shravani, he can't go back on his word now nor does he want to. It is all the more reason why I think Archana should just walk away but like you said she seems to not mind the insults she recieves. Guess she figures after a month, it will all be over and she will move forward with her life
TB, I totally agree with you! I said the same thing when news first got out about Shravani's pregnancy, it makes no sense why her and Manav should marry now that everyone knows who the father of her child is. I'm glad people know because Shravani seems to have erased any memory of Sachin from her mind and would probably do the same to her child. It is unfortunate how fast Shravani has forgotten the man she once supposedly loved and was going to marry. It is insulting and Manav's family doesn't see that.

I almost didn't, it was just too easy, but then it was also just so random and unflattering that I had to. 😆

Golly! Did they mention that Urmila was the cousin? Then it is confirmed that Ashwin's wife is the cousin and he will be coming back along with her. Cos Ashwin's wife name was Urmila.

Interesting twist. Lets see what happens.

@ Tbizzle and others wondering about why Manav and Shravani need marry now: there is the not-so-little question of the child being born illegitimate, something which still attracts much viciousness in India if publicly known, Of course in this case the child may always hear about its own illicit conception, but at least for formal / legal purposes it will have the last name it would otherwise have had. We, who take our legitimacy so blithely for granted, must spare a thought for those who can't do so. The whole point of marriage as an institution after all, has been to provide a stable and socially acceptable space in which to bring up children. If that were not the most crucial part of the gender equation, who'd bother marrying at all? Certainly not men, who'd have wanted to play the field instead, and certainly not women either, who can't really have relished waiting hand and foot on their lords and masters.
@ Tarantulla: one small modification to an argument I'm generally in agreement with, and that is the serial seems not to be a glorification of cowardice, as much as a glorification of forbearance / tolerance of one's own oppression. This, in the patriarchal ethical system, is not cowardice at all, but on the contrary the highest and most praiseworthy sign of courage in a woman.... :-( :-(

Commentator! I had been missing your posts lately.
I understand what you've written, and it always seemed like this was Manav's motive, but it didn't seem so for everyone else. I don't know why, but it never seemed like anyone else in the show that supported this marriage was thinking of this, it rather seemed like they were thinking of the reason that I initially posted on: to make the child seem like Manav's and "save" Shravani. That isn't really possible now, thus my question, but your answer makes sense. Anyways, the characters (and hence the writers) seem too caught up in the status quo to actually be thinking about these issues.

Hi Kool's…now reading ur commentary and as usual u try to infuse humor into this "now out of control serial." I know it must be getting difficult for u to make sense out of this nonsense now. l personally feel yesterday's episode was pathetic… I did not find RA funny at all…her introduction of the Deshmukh's family was silly…isn't this a middle class or lower middle class family, who is trying to earn an honest dollar to survive, whose daughter she choose as her bahu? ..Anyways, what is so wrong in Manav being a small mechanic or his dad being a small time actor? I was taught it is good to be independent and honest..…can anyone remind me if ajit works…is he independent and have an honest job? I honestly don't know, I mean he dresses well and drives around like a pimp….oh yea, he is a pimp na… So saying all these things was just totally bizarre and immature…And her response to the guy that wondered y is Manav living with two wives proves it…after informing everyone about same…she decided to say "leave it cause it is their home matter"…y r these CR's insulting us.. Also, I think airing this particular track was very disrespectful to ppl who r honestly working hard to make a life…

What bothered me the most was when RA asked all to come inside except the Deshmukhs. The entire Karanjkars family was a huge disappointment especially Vaishu and Varsha.…After greeting and meeting Archana and her in-laws, with so much love…and listening to RA's adolescent banter, it was depressing to see them letting go of Archana's hands and going inside…."NO WAY IN HELL I WOULD HAVE DONE THAT…THAT WAS THE MOST REVOLTING PART FOR ME.."
