The Malayalam film and television industry has been left shocked by the sudden demise of young actor Hari Murali, who passed away at the age of 27. Reports state that he was found dead at his home in the Annoor area of Payyannur in Kerala. After the incident, his body was reportedly taken to a private hospital in Payyannur. Authorities have not yet confirmed the exact circumstances surrounding his death, and further details are still awaited.
Who was Hari Murali?
Hari was born into a family with a strong connection to the performing arts. He was the son of well known theatre and film personality K. U. Murali, widely recognised as Payyannur Murali, and his mother Prasanna. His father has spent many years working in the theatre world and is considered a respected figure in the stage community in Kerala. Hari is also survived by his brother Sreemurali.
Because of his family background, Hari grew up in an environment where theatre and storytelling were part of everyday life. This exposure inspired him to explore acting at a very early age. His first step into the entertainment world came when filmmaker A. M. Nazeer offered him a small role in a television serial when he was just four years old. That early opportunity helped him begin a journey that would see him appear in numerous productions during his childhood.
He soon made his entry into Malayalam cinema with the film Rasikan, where he performed as a child artist. The role helped him gain visibility among audiences and industry professionals. Following this introduction, he continued to work in several films. Some of the projects he was part of included Annan Thambi, directed by Anwar Rasheed, along with movies such as Madampi, Don, Pattanathil Bhootham, and Ulagam Chuttum Valiban. During his time as a child actor, he appeared in more than ten Malayalam films.
Television also played an important role in his career. Hari acted in nearly forty serials over the years, which helped him build recognition among viewers who followed Malayalam television. Among the well known shows he was part of were Kuttichathan and Kayamkulam Kochunni.
