Epilogue

Hanuman Singh’s name was announced on 26th January celebrations. He was awarded special police medal for his role in finishing off mafia raaj from Mumbai. Hanuman went on stage and received the award. “At least give a small smile officer or else press reporters will ask questions.” Home minister Pratap Singh whispered to Hanuman while handing him the trophy. Hanuman gave a fake smile. He turned around to go back when anchor of the show requested him to say few words to which he politely refused and just said thanks to all.

Everyone was congratulating for the award but only Hanuman knew that it was not an award. It was a mockery of his duty, his belief in the system. Everyone thought that he and his team had finished off all the mafias to eradicate organized crime from the city but only he knew what was the reality. All the praises he was getting for was not less than a bullet shot for him.

“Jaane be dijiye na….jo hua so hua….ab bhool jaiye sab kuch. Aap yaha se transfer le lijiye. We will go far away from here.” Babita, his wife suggested as only she knew the pain behind the smile her husband has put up for the world. “No, now its my life’s mission to arrest that Neil Oberoi and his girlfriend….that backstabber…that Mini who toyed with our emotions. We saw our daughter in her and she betrayed me.” Hanuman replied as he sat in the car to go back home. He still remembered everything clearly what happened that day. What all Neil had told him. He could still feel Neil was laughing at him. He fisted his hands to control the anger as the memories of that day become fresh again in his mind.

Flashback (The day when Neil killed Ismail and Mini’s secret was revealed.)

“Look at him jaan…look at his face.” Neil laughed out loud and Mini also laughed with him. “What did you thought? My jaan will kill me?” Neil laughed again. A perplexed Hanuman looked at Mini as he didn’t understand anything. “Still didn’t get it…come on I thought you were smart….I was never on your side. I was with my Neil…always. I was an informer…. not police’s informer but Neil’s informer in police…doing his job….helping him to finish off all his enemies.” Mini said as she looked at Hanuman.

Seeing that confusion was still there on Hanuman’s face Neil looked at Mini, “Lagta hai iski tubelight abhi tak nahi jali….ise details mein samjhana padega.” Neil looked at Hanuman again and continued, “Haan toh officer….shuru se shuru karte hain…let me tell you the whole story….wo kahani toh suni hogi na….ki there was a very powerful king…lekin us raja ki jaan uske parraot mein basti thi…if parrot would have been killed then king would also have died…so he took extra care to protect that parrot from the evil eyes of enemy….mere sath bhi na yahi hua….is don ki jaan….meri is jaan mein basti hai….she is everything to me….ise kuch ho jata toh main to aise hi mar jaata.” Neil said as he looked at Mini lovingly.

“My enemies got to know about my love for her…that back stabber Mickey told them how much I love her and what she means to me, what importance she holds in my life. It was difficult to target me so they targeted Mini. When we were here for the peace treaty first time, Mini was attacked and we lost our baby. She was in trauma for few days and I was shocked….shocked at the audacity of my enemies. It is an unwritten rule of underworld, we never touch families of each other but all my enemies started to play dirty when they couldn't stop me. I was shocked at the fact how come they knew about Mini’s location and all the details like with how many bodyguards she went with….I had started doubting then only that someone from my inside trustworthy circle is working for my enemies. My doubts further got confirmed when my ally in Mexico Marcos suddenly turned against me.”

“The reason for my success in such short span of time was that I feared nobody. I had nothing to lose but ever since Mini came in my life I started fearing for her. Mini is my only weakness and I was horrified by the fact that now my enemies know this. Ghabra gaya tha main….My one and only priority was to keep her safe anyhow…I couldn’t afford to lose her” Neil kept telling Hanuman.

“So when Mini came out of the emotional trauma, I asked her to fight with me infront of everyone….blame me for our baby’s death….keep fighting and saying that she doesn’t love me anymore and wants to breakup with me….then I’ll act like nothing has left between us….she is not important to me anymore….this way my enemies will stop targeting her. But at that time I didn’t knew it was Mickey…who didn’t want to kill Mini just to take revenge from me but he also loved her….aur wo uski nahi ho saki toh wo usse meri life mein bhi nahi dekh sakta tha….thats why jab humne jhagda karne ka natak bhi kiya tab bhi Mickey use maar dena chahta tha….he turned Marcos against me and also sent men to kill Mini at the airport when I was sending her to the safe place. But she ran away as she didn’t want to go away from me. But I knew that these attack will not stop…I had to do something. Then I decided that I will fake Mini’s death. She will die in the eyes of the world and thereby I will save her from my enemies.”

Flashback (prologue scene)

Neil came and approached Mini who was sitting on the bench placed outside a house which looked liked a farm house with large garden area. “What was the need to come here? You know how dangerous it can be at this time.” Said Neil. “You left me with no choice. I had to run away from the airport. Why you were sending me away from you?” Replied Mini. “Here, take this file. All the important documents and papers you will need are here in this.” Neil said as he handed over fake identity proof to Mini. “ Why would I need this?” Mini asked. “Because I have changed my plan. You will do as I say as we don’t have any other option.”Neil told her. “Why I need to go away from you? What we were doing till now….our plan…those fake fights…. isn’t it enough?” Mini asked desperately. “It was good but clearly not enough as they still want to kill you.” Neil replied and saw Marcos men coming. “I am sorry but its too late. Now only your death can save us.” Neil said and explained the plan to Mini how he is going to fake her death. He will send her to Pune where she will live by fake identity and he will keep coming to meet her once in a while till situations get sorted out and he kills all his enemies.

Neil continued to share his story with Hanuman, “Us kamine Mickey ne mera bahut nuksaan kiya…..andar hi andar se deemak ki tarah mera pura business, mera network, mere contacts….sab barbaad kar diye the jisse main phir se khada na ho paun….So I had to start all over again….slowly build my empire. I was waiting for the right time to strike again to take revenge from those Patnaik and the others and in the meanwhile I was rebuilding my resources. I wanted to destroy them…because of them we lost our baby and Mini had to stay away from me. Thats when I decided even I will play dirty and kill each and every one from their gang and even family who will come in my way. I also wanted to find out who was betraying me. So, I kept my patience and maintained low profile.”

“Soon I got my chance when there was political instability and the state was on the verge of elections. Ismail, Patnaik and others had already started gangwars among themselves to get upper hand on each other. This was the perfect time for me so I came back here. Though the timing was perfect but still I was not that powerful in resources compare to them….I needed help….I needed a plan….and you know what….you came forward for my help.” Neil said and saw Hanuman’s eyes went wide as realization struck him.

Flashback (The day of Hanuman’s meeting with Mini in Pune)

Mini was going to the market when a car suddenly stopped near her and pulled her inside. Before she could have screamed for help she found herself in the arms of her love. “Surprise!” Neil said. “Neil….you scared me…oh God!...I missed you so much…where were you? I am seeing you after almost 2 years….and its been months since I heard your voice.” Mini cried in his arms. “Sorry jaan….I was busy…”Neil tried to explain but Mini didn’t let him. “I don’t want to listen anything….ye is tarah chhupkar….tumse dur rehkar jeena….marne se kam hai kya…I don’t care if your enemies wants to kill me…I just cant stay away from you anymore…..take me with you this time.” Mini pleaded.

“Try to understand jaan…you are safe here with fake identity…and don’t worry…this time…I will avenge our baby and finish each and every one of them…but till then….”Neil explained his point of view. “But how will you do it? You still cant face all of them alone and besides…this fake identity…its of no use now….police has identified me.” Mini informed. “What???” Neil asked shocked from this new development. Mini told him about Hanuman and how he had asked her to betray Neil and be their informer.

Neil smiled listening to all this, “Nothing can be as good as this….say yes to him.” “Are you mad? You are asking me to betray you and give information to the police?” Mini asked confused. “Yes, you will be their informer and will leak information to them….but unhe kya kab aur kitna batana hai…ye main tumhe bataunga.” Neil replied as he made the gameplan to finish off his enemies.

“I don’t get it Neil.” Mini said. “You were saying the truth that I still am not that powerful to fight all of my enemies alone….so now police will do my job. They will work for me and finish off my enemies for me and there is an added advantage that we get to live with each other from now on as I don’t have to worry about your safety anymore when police will give protection and watch over you.” Neil said and explained his whole plan to her.

Next day when Hanuman visited Mini’s orphanage, he asked for Mini there but she was not in orphanage. Hanuman Singh was about to return when he noticed that one luxurious car stopped at there and Mini came out of it. She came inside and found Hanuman Singh waiting for her. “I was about to call you today.” Mini said but Hanuman Singh didn’t listen to her as he kept looking at the car with questioning eyes. “They were Mr. & Mrs. Malhotra. Bahut ameer log hain lekin koi aulaad nahi hai. Hamare orphanage se bachha adopt karna chahte hain.”Mini lied quickly to divert his attention.

Mini narrated her sob story to him. “I hate Neil. He destroyed my life snatched away my happiness my dreams from me. That hatred still burn inside my heart….I guess it will only end either on my death or his. And I would not like to miss the pleasure of killing him from my own hands. So yes I am ready to participate in your mission. But you have to promise me that when the moment comes you will let only me to kill Neil Oberoi.” Mini very cleverly took promise from him that only she will kill Neil thereby assuring that Hanuman will take special care not to target Neil in any of his raids.

Neil now continued his story further, “Then as per my plan you brought Mini to that program in Pune where I had planted bomb to scare Patnaik and home minister Pratap Singh and she was back into my life. Yes, that bomb was just to scare home minister to get his attention….I never intended to kill him. And exactly that happened. Minister Pratap Singh was scared for his life and I fixed a meeting with him where I told him that the team which he had made under your supervision will not be able to finish off the mafias without my help…I shared my plan with him and promised him that with your police’s team help I will finish off all the mafias and it will look like that police has done this job which will ultimately improve Pratap’s image….his govt. image…..and in exchange of it I just wanted safe passage for me when the work would get complete and since there would be no competition I will again become the ultimate…one and only don…king of the city. I will also help him in up coming elections in the form of money and power. The proposal was beneficial for both of us so he agreed.”

Hanuman was shocked was an understatement now. He was totally flabbergasted by the revelation Neil made. His whole mission was nothing but just a game plan to finish off Neil’s enemies. Home minister Pratap Singh knew this. He just used him and all his officer for personal gain….for his and this Neil’s benefit….his whole police force was just used like some rented men to take Neil’s revenge and protect his girlfriend.

“Yes, you are thinking right officer. You and your team were used….used by Pratap to protect his govt….used by me to kill my enemies and complete my revenge….to protect my jaan…..to eliminate my competition and make me king again. Tum soch rahe the ki ye dangerous game tum khel rahe ho jisme mujh tak pahuchne ke liye tum ne Mini ko mohra banaya hai….but mohre to tum khud the….hamesha se.....is dangerous game mein…..jo maine start kiya tha.” Neil laughed looking at Hanuman’s expressions.

“But you did bring your own twist in it by adding that extra player Isha....I called her to take care of my jaan...had no idea that she was undercover cop…sorry I had to kill her or else she would have ruined my plan.” Neil informed. “And yes, it was also a special request from me as that Isha was irritating hell out of me….always roaming around Neil to get some information…spying on us when we were being close…I was fed up from her and asked Neil to get rid of her as soon as possible.But till then Mickey had also found out about her true identity and Neil killed her then and there to avoid suspicion.” Mini said as she looked at Neil in admiration as if he had done a great job. "Shame on you, you killed an honest officer in your revenge game." Hanuman singh looked with utmost disgust at Mini. "Honest officer! You really dont know anything, do you?" Mini laughed. Hanuman was shocked again listening to her. " As soon as I came to know about her in the mall, I told everything to Neil and he put his trusted men to gather more information about her. It didn't take long once they started searching. Till evening when she returned, we had found out that she was far from innocent and honest cop. She had been involved in all illegal activities with the gangsters behind your back. You should thank us for killing her." Mini made yet another shocking revelation.

“Then came the shocking news and I found out Mickey was the one who was betraying me and I killed him and Lala. This set the panic among Patnaik and Ismail and Ismail cracked the deal with opposition to dethroned Pratap’s govt. It was the do or die moment for me. I knew I had shortage of men and weapons and cant fight with both of them alone but I had trust on you. I knew that when you will come to know that govt. going to be dethroned and your mission will be disbanded you will not let go of this golden opportunity where you will get Patnaik, Ismail and me under same roof. That’s why I sent Mini to you to convey this message….I knew you will come with your whole police force to help me in killing Patnaik and Ismail….and that’s exactly happened…..see now…all of them died…I am here with my jaan…safe and sound….now only you left. Once I’ll kill you then this dangerous game will be over.” Neil said and pointed his gun at Hanuman.

Neil was about to press trigger when suddenly Mini stopped him, “baby….dont kill him.” “Jaan, he needs to die.” Neil reasoned. “But…I…he and his wife….she will be alone….they have also lost their child like I did…and he took care of me…”Mini said as she remembered Hanuman was always good to her….how much ever she denies it but she did like it when he and his wife too care of her like their daughter.

“Aww, my jaan cares for you officer” Neil said to Hanuman. “But jaan…he knows too much about us now.” Neil said. “But what can he do….when the home minister himself is your friend…when the whole govt. will be in your pocket…what can a mere officer do about you…who will listen to him? Hume koi fark nahi padega inke rehne na rehne se…so leave him.” Mini tried to persuade him.

“I don’t need your pity. Kill me. I still cant believe I did mistake in judging you. Tumne sirf kanun ke sath hi nahi mere emotions ke sath bhi dhoka kiya hai…beti ki tarah samjha tha tumhe aur….just kill me.” Hanuman said in anger. “How dare you to take that tone with my jaan….I will kill you now.” Neil threatened. “Neil baby….just let it be….calm down....dont kill him….please…for me…for my happiness.” Mini requested.

“And Hanuman Singh ji….maine koi dhoka nahi kiya. I did what I needed to do to protect my Neil…to avenge our baby’s death….to be with him….because I love him more than my life…I don’t judge him for what he do….I don’t care whether he is right or wrong….good or evil….he is mine….I love all of him…and I promised to be by his side in all circumstances…so whatever I did, I did for my love and I am not ashamed of it.” Mini replied confidently. Gone was that confused timid and emotionally tormented Mini. Now she was her true self confident and bold, who knew what she was doing and why she needed to do it.

“Officer my jaan has requested for your life and I cant deny her anything….so I will not kill you but you have insulted her so I will make sure that you will remember me and this day of your greatest defeat forever in your life. I will ask home minister Pratap Singh to award you for this mission. People will consider you as hero but you will know the truth that you are a big loser. That trophy will keep torturing you for the life time and will mock you.” Neil said and laughed at him.

Hanuman Singh came out of his thoughts and closed his ears as he could still feel that Neil was laughing at him together with Mini. He will never be able to forget that Neil and Mini in his life.

Sitting in his house Neil was looking at the live telecast of award distribution ceremony. He laughed when Hanuman got award. "What happened? Why are you laughing? Mini asked as she came there with there few months old baby boy Anany in her arms. Neil took his son into his lap and put his one hand around Mini's shoulder, "Your so called father figure Hanuman Singh just received the award for his bravery." Neil informed and Mini laughed with him. "Leave the poor man alone....he has helped us a lot...in a way if he wasnt there then all your enemies might have been still alive and we would have still been separated." Mini replied. "I know...I know...but I totally enjoyed playing this dangerous game with him." Neil laughed again.
