Thanks u doc ji.. This is helpful.. Are we saying eat more meat??
What are suggestive iron rich food where u do not have to worry about calcium or taking supplements?

Rich sources- Organ meats-liver,heart,kidney

Good sources:Leafy vegs,Pulses,(Beans,Rajma,chick peas etc),Cereals,Fish,Apples,dried friuts,Molasses

Poor sources:Milk,Wheat,Polished rice.

Combinations of foods such as beans and tomato or tofu and broccoli result in good iron absorption. In general, vegetables such as broccoli, Brussels sprouts, capsicum, potato, tomato, etc. and fruits such as cantaloupe, grapefruit, strawberries, orange, etc. enhance the iron absorption.

Tea,coffee,eggs decrease iron absorption.

Good to know S - i am on right track - eat lots of fruits/veges and beans. Since Beans/Tofu is the only source for protein for me.
Cottage cheese too have good iron value along with protein
