Part 03:
What do you do when all your life you have just wanted your family's togetherness as a wish and prayer but get exactly the opposite? What do you do when you see the family you so lovingly nourished break apart? What does the mother in you do when one child of yours commits a blunder, destroys a life due to his selfishness, cowardice and insensitivity and breaks apart a family including his own but you can't help but blame yourself for it? What do you do when you see three brothers who have always held on to each other, loved each other, do not even see face to face? What do you do when a young girl whom you've seen grow leave her family and disappear, all because your son dint have the courage to accept he loved another?
She dint know! She had answers to none of the questions. All she knew was each day after that fateful day, she felt the mother in her die bit by bit. Each day after, she blamed herself for not putting much into her upbringing. Maybe she should have done better. She should have done something more maybe and this belief she could not shake despite Gautam and Suman telling her otherwise.
Dhara wiped the lone tear that escaped her forlorn eyes and looked at the clock for the umpteenth time . It was 12:30 and Shiva hadn't yet returned from the store. She sighed as she recalled her Shiva from the time before that fateful happening. Shiva had been a hardworking and family man from the beginning. His dedication, sincerity, passion towards work was nothing new. But with that, he had this mischievous, childish side to him which was now lost. It was as if it had gone away when Raavi left the city.
Shiva never forgave Dev niether did they so he and his wife moved out of the house. Till today, if and when they happen to cross paths, they move past each others as if they were strangers and not brothers. And with that, the entire family got to see a workaholic Shiva who was hardly even seen at home. His eyes had lost their spark, his smile had vanished just like his presence in the house. He had put his everything in work and had brought their stores to new heights. He was the same with her, warm and devoted but she knew what had changed and what had brought about this transformation in him.
Shiva was a hard man to comprehend. He was a closed book through and through. But for her, he wasn't. Dhara could understand Shiva much more than anybody ever could and this had been there since childhood. It had taken sometime but she had understood why he had become such. It wasn't just hurt that he felt because of his brother's action. It was because of the hurt he felt at what had happened with her and her departure.
How could she have been so blind all this while? Dhara asked herself. It had been so evident all this while but she hadn't even noticed! If she had atleast she could have averted whatever happened that day. She sighed deeply. What was the point now? What should she do about these regrets? She couldn't change a thing now. Or maybe she could?

Prafulla had never been a good woman. She had always been the evil one and she very well knew it. She was accustomed to people calling her a witch (behind her back of course but she still knew) because she did not give a damn about others and only did what suited her selfish beliefs or what gave her benefits. She had no affection for anybody. Not her husband nor Anita and surely not any of the Pandyas. She had no love or affection for anybody except one. And that one person was Raavi.
But this attachment, love and motherly affection hadn't come in her from the beginning. It had taken something for that to happen after which she starred to love that child genuinely.
She was still selfish, still evil but she did have a heart as well. And in that heart she had just pain, hurt, anger and hatred. She lit a lamp each day and waited by the door, hoping maybe then her Raavi would come back. Hours together would be spent in that wait amidst which she'd need someone to tell her to eat and function or else she wouldn't even remember. It had been ages since people had even heard her voice, forget about her taunts.
Her hatred for the all the Pandyas except one had multiplied greatly but for that one, it had reduced. But of course, she wouldn't accept it even to herself!
She held Raavi's photo in her arms and hugged it to her chest. 5 years back when she had rushed home after insulting the Pandyas and cursing them, she had been praying internally that her child be alright. But when she reached home and was met with deadly silence, her heartbeats had elevated and throat constricted at the fear building up within her. She had frantically searched the entire house hoping against hope to find her child because she knew she couldn't afford to lose her. But what she had been met with was an empty house with all Raavi's belongings disappeared.
Tears had slipped past her eyes as she had rushed down the streets of Somnath, insanely looking for her child at every place possible only to meet Shiva midway. She dint know what had come over her but she had told Shiva everything and they had searched the entire town for Raavi but to no avail.
They hadn't given up and had expanded their search but hadn't found even a single clue even remotely revealing about her whereabouts.
She hadn't given up hope even at this moment and she knew she never would. But she couldn't do anything else could she. Or maybe she could?
Raat ki khamoshiyon me intezaar hain
Maayein jaagke samet rahi hain bikhre kaleje ke tukdon ko
Baandh rahi hain unhe woh umeed ke dhaagon me
Aakhirkaar ek raasta nazar aaya hain
Badalon se dhaka hosale ka chaand aaj nazar aaya hain!
Love,
PSR
You have portrayed the pain beautifullyâ¤ď¸ the pain if mothers- one whose child commited a blunder while her other child is in immense pain and another who lost the only child she loved with her whole heart
