Part 01
She stood at the altar, the varmala hanging around her neck. Her eyes were glazed with tears and pain while her fingers had dug into her palm. Numb she stood even as her whole world came crashing down on her. Nothing reached her nor his apologies nor her family's outbursts and pleadings nor the gossip and whisperings of the people around. She just stood rooted to her spot, numbed in the storm which had tumbled her entire world within mere moments. A sharp pain shot across her chest and all of a sudden she felt her breath becoming shallow. Her chest felt heavy with the weight of her distraught, sinking heart even as her entire being submerged itself in grief pushing her out of her numb state. All of a sudden she felt as if a huge weight had been placed atop her and she was all but falling trying to manage it.
He stood there at the side, his eyes refusing to move from her distraught form. His fists clenched and his chest ablaze he stood, trying his best to keep the withering thread of his patience intact for if not, a brother would end up being the destruction of his older brother! The hurt and anguish in her eyes rose up in his heart, embracing it with the blanket of her pain, only two times the intensity. While she broke once, he shattered with her twice. Her pain was his, just twice the intensity.
Her eyes slowly lifted and looked around and then met his. His eyes which had held her anguish gently turned into assurance. It felt like he was right next to her, holding her in his arms and assuring her, everything would be alright. Gazing into his eyes brought her out of her state and that's when the haze of her pain moved away a bit to bring back her sanity.
She looked at him, her eyes filled with fear and slight apprehension. His orbs held assurance and with his slight nod, she felt her fears moving away to give way to confidence. She looked at the other girl who was smirking at her and smiled, effectively wiping off the smirk from her face, transforming it into confusion. And with that smile still plastered on her face, she punched the girl and walked away, her head held high. As she did, she glanced at him and could see the very pride she held flashing in his eyes. She smiled at him and he smiled back.
Just like all those years back, his eyes held assurance and that was enough for her to get a grip over herself. Of course she would breakdown but the world need not be a witness to it. She still had her self-respect and she decided to keep it. A few more tags had been added to her name but that dint matter any more. Her feelings were made a laughing stock of, that dint deter her anymore. She held her head up and walked away from the mandap. As she did, she glanced at him to which he slightly nodded. She shook her head slightly and walked away.
Her pain and her heartbreak weren't trivial. Her entire world had collapsed. But they weren't up for show as well. She'd show the world Raavi wasn't weak. She dint need an audience to her grief nor did she need pity. What she needed, he had already given her and now, she was ready!
He knew he had managed to make her stabilise herself but he also knew her grief, her heartbreak needed an outlet. He had just taken a step towards her when she turned and just walked away from there. He wanted to follow her but his instincts said otherwise. Before he could think about it anymore, he sensed the conflict between Maami and his family increasing. He sighed and moved towards his family to put an end to this fight so that Maami could go behind Raavi and give her the support she needed at the moment.
Teri khamoshi ko tere jazbaaton ka aaina samjha tha
Teri khamoshi ko tere mohabbat ka ishaara samjha tha
Par mujhe kahan pata tha, teri khamoshi kisi aur se mohabbat ka gawa tha!
