I completed my tabulation of SMD cast scene division across E1-E37.

WAHAJ's SCREENTIME is 82% LESS THAN MAYA's SCREENTIME ACROSS E31-E37 (370 minutes vs 674 minutes). In other words, Maya has 304 minutes more screentime than Wahaj.

WAHAJ's SCREENTIME is 35% LESS THAN USAMA's SCREENTIME ACROSS E1-E37 (370 minutes vs 500 minutes). In other words, Usama has 130 minutes more screentime than Wahaj.

THE AUDACITY TO SELL THIS AS A DRAMA LED BY WAHAJ & MAYA INFURIATES ME. This is a Maya show through and through with Usama as the second most important character. Wahaj is merely a third lead at best. 22 Qadam was FL-centric but even that did not have this level of screentime discrepancy between Hareem and Wahaj. This type of ss discrepancy is similar to what Wahaj had in Fitoor vis a vis FQ and Hiba when he was a B-lister who had not yet broken into 8 pm.

In fact, if your character has 82% LESS screentime than the other lead, you are NOT ANY KIND OF MAIN LEAD. YOU ARE SUPPORTING CAST.

Even if I put aside issues with script, PLEASE EXPLAIN TO ME why Wahaj or Kaddu or anyone else thought the best grand comeback vehicle for Wahaj post Tere Bin should be playing second fiddle to Maya and Usama. Feroze did a KAM3 after Khaani for Geo, which was ML centric and was Feroze show through and through. Which Geo project with Danish or Feroze, or even Imran Abbas, Muneeb Butt or FQ, has this time of imbalance for the Alist male actor in the cast. I need answers for this travesty.

It was pretty well known that Amar would be in the show for just few episodes. Shame on Wahaj, Maya, Kadwani and Haseeb for cheating the audience. They deserve every bit of SMD’s criticism and bashing.

Rabia was very upset. She was very upset at BA too. She doesn't get why he wants her to reconcile with a cheating partner or why he is so passive. BAs general passivity I have an issue with too. There is difference being not pushy and a gentleman and being do inert. BA is like a stoner in how passive and inert he really is. I once thought the he will help protect Sadaf from Ammar help her heal. But woh bhi kuch ausa nahi hai. He wallows in self pity too much so much so that it makes him inactive. The writer didn't even write BA any other tracks or office work or hobbies or business engagements or anything really so his inactiveness really stands out. We just see him sitting or lying in one place. At best he paces his small office. I can't think of a hero who was less physically active or so physically confined as BA. If it weren't for filler ramp walks we won't even see him take strides. Sorry for the digressing, but not just BA overall psssivity as a cktr but also how physically inactive he is really struck me right now.

I can totally relate to whatever Rabia said because I remember Rabia being very supportive of SMD since beginning and she has always supported SMD despite its absurdities and discrepancies..the same condition like me I would say

But the disappointment hits hard because everything whatever the characters say are problematic including BA himself.

Its not like Sadaf is not feminist..her leaving a cheater and manipulative husband and calling out his double standards actually shows that she knows to stand up for her rights..but than why to put such problematic dialogues unnecessarily?

BA is selfless and pure soul but he is also wrong in pushing Sadaf towards Ammar because of his own insecurities..but its because of the way BA is presented to the audience no one really hates him..infact Sadaf looks bad and desperate in all these.

I can't believe Maya Wahaj did JBG and than ended up in this disaster At least JBG was critically acclaimed.

Now no one will remember them for jbg but for this awful mess. Thus project is a disappointment in every respect from writing to cktrs to direction to acting to lighting to pace to editing to marketing to music to sets to screentime. Rarely does every single thing go wrong in a project and that too with such a budget and a reputable team behind it. I cannot still wrap my head around it. Even shocking is how the team thought they made a masterpiece. Konse nashay phoonk rahe hain ye log.

I agree with you hypno...and I have the same disappointment..how can everything go wrong in a single project which was supposed to be a "MEGA SIGNATURE PROJECT" is beyond my imagination. All the flaws could have been ignored if Bilal-Sadaf love track was good,but even that is bad,confusing and overcomplicated. Its neither a literary masterpiece nor a good entertainment. I can't believe everyone acted like this is some masterpiece.

At this point I dont care about happy ending anymore...even if they say that today is the last episode ..I'll be happy and I would consider that its 4 months nightmare and forget it.

Dunno about the rest of the cast but Hira said in an interview that she doesn’t mind doing bad shows if her character is important enough. I guess that’s why she signed SMD Also it was a huge departure from her usual bechari bahu roles.

Did they assume BA would be like Rishab Bajaj then they got it all wrong! RB had aura right from scene 01 and despite him being Buddha and great everyone under sun wanted Prerna to get married to him . I don’t think anyone watching show are rooting for BA - Sadaf.
