Do western actors ever wear eastern outfits in any events then why eastern actors needs to wear western cloths in their events

Western actors are also wearing almost unwearable-on-street outfits. MET gala outfits are ridiculously unthinkable. They get trolled for bad fashion but are never moral policed. So criticize Alizeh for her outfit's poor fit and let's not question her and her family's values, morals etc. Honestly, what she wore was not even that fashion forward, normal young girls often wear sleeveless and halter tops.

How are these these TV stars representing their country in a local TV's insignificant style award show that barely people in their own country let alone international viewers are watching.

If anything, expats living in foreign countries are bigger representatives of their countries. And trust me, fully-covered and so-called shareef expats here in US/UK do the lamest of things painting their countries in bad light, thus the stereotypes.

I so agree...Why must people insist in good examples. Rather teach kids what NOT to do looking at more than plenty bad examples. There are more bad examples than good ones anyway. 😂

I think in our culture we fail to separate the art from the artist. We want to believe that a person who plays a meek bechari bahu is the same in their real lives too. With social media, it is difficult to maintain that facade for artists too (most of them dont try anymore) and people get disappointed to see their bechari bahu lounging in her home in tee and shorts on FB/insta.

I think even Indian actresses get backlash for wearing revealing dresses. 🤓

Islamic rules about women dress is strict. They are forbidden from showing any part of their bodies except face and hands. But most of muslims don't follow these rules, yet we are used to see them wear decently. Pakistani showbiz is more decent than Arabic in this case. In Arabic movies and dramas, women wear western dresses including bikini .🤔

But that's the whole point. They want to catch eyeballs. They want attention. They crave attention. It's what drives them. Any attention even the bad kind is still attention and people who troll them, watch them are still giving them attention. That's what they want.

I feel it is unfair that rules pertaining to women are more severely enforced than those for men. I dont know much about Islam and the rules but i have beard men aren't supposed to drink alcohol, or smoke or indulge in sexual acts before & outside marriage.... Yet i see a lot of men drinking, watching mujras, going to dance bars. But why no outcry over that. Aren't men asked to keep beard or something too? How is having multiple wives ok when they clearly have favorites.

Nd it is same with almost all the religions across world where women are more oppressed than men in the name of religion, culture, honor. And that is why i feel so strongly about personal choices as long as they dont harm anyone else. Please don't tell me rapes happen because girl wore a revealing dress and 'enticed' men. Such words coming from educated, well traveled leaders is pathetic.

I am not a fan of discussing religion but I will give you a quick overview.

Patriarchy is why rules are more enforced upon women and it's not just Pakistan. Patriarchy exists everywhere unfortunately. It's so ingrained in societies that it drives these double standards you speak of so people even ignore the teachings of Islam.

Beards are not compulsory for men. Multiple wives is only okay if a man can do justice between all (equal treatment, gifts, etc.). No alcohol, premarital sex or inappropriate behaviour are rules that are for both men and women. Men are also supposed to cover up and dress modestly. It took the west centuries to give women the rights that Islam had already given women such as voting, becoming career oriented etc.. Wives aren't even required to cook and do the housework. During the time of the prophet (PBUH) women were doctors, lawyers, teachers, businesswomen. His first wife was a businesswoman who had proposed marriage herself.

That's precisely my point. Patriarchy is the evil that gets enforced under the pretext of religion, culture. Has been for the longest time in every part of the world. If public is calling out women for their clothes, please call the men out who are shown consuming alcohol on TV/social media. Im so done when even the slightest mistake of a woman is amplified whereas men can get away with anything. So, if these ladies want to wear a gown, let them. They aren't causing anyone any harm. These netizens can go blabber about the molestors and rapists if they have so much time to spare. But there too, in the end blame will rest of the victim for provoking and enticing the rapist with her clothes. 🙄
