Pakistan might be a Islamic country but you can't deny that culture is constantly changing. 10-20yrs ago, girls wearing jeans or pant must have been frowned upon but not anymore. People and therefore the country evolves with changing times. How is girls wearing western outfits a bigger threat to youth than the social evils like rapes, child marriage, multiple marriages etc. Even if Pakistani celebs come in burqa to award functions, the youth can still see indian and intl celebs in so called "revealing clothes".

I thought all of them were modestly dressed for celebrities at an event (those were not everyday looks for regular people anyways. Are bare hands what you term as revealing? There were no low cut necks, short length, backless, high slits or cleavage as far as i remember.

Not bare arms but there were crop tops, tube tops, cleavage, high slits (ex. Mashal), backless, etc. (example Fahmeen Ansari) so I think that's what people had an issue with. Anyways, the outfits were terrible, be it the men or women.

What I find really pathetic is Bollywood and now pal celebrities SHAMELESS LUST over western culture

We don't have to follow Hollywood

We Asians have a beauty nazaakat of our own which we should try to cherish

An actress who dresses up with a saari or salwar suit is termed as BEHENJI by the same media and so called general public

So celebs will always be scrutinized for this or that

But what the celebs should not forget is their roots....the western audience are not watching the Bollywood movies or pak dramas

It's the Indian Pakistan Bangladesh Nepal Bhutan Sri Lanka people all around the world

I see gorgeous dresses on the ramps of the fashion Shows of Pakistan

The celebs can flaunt them on the award shows as well and project Pakistani style and fashion which is so unique classy and gorgeous at the same time

Every award show red carpet doesn't have to be about low neck sleeveless backless gowns

We see enough of that in Bollywood and Hollywood

Give us something new and original

There have been so many in my own family who went from wearing mini skirts to becoming scarfies and others who have gone in the opposite direction. People change throughout their lives; some for the better some for the worse. It's not just these celebrities who change. Some succumb to the pressures, some don't. Each person is on their own journey.

At the end of the day, it is up to each individual person whether they want to follow Islam or not. There are many people around the world who are Muslims only by name and that's okay because we never know, there might be one thing about them that Allah loves and approves off. I have come across way too many supposedly good Muslims and modestly dressed or covered up Muslims who are hypocrites. I myself try to avoid judging people because I am not flawless. I am not perfect. I make so many mistakes and have done many things that aren't inline with religion. It's the same thing with those who call these celebrities out, how many of them are truly good Muslims?

I agree with you ..no one is perfect

But my point was regarding to these celebs .. they live in an Islamic country..they represent Pakistan therefore they should draw a line when in public ..its common sense when you live in a society you are very well aware of what would be acceptable and whats not but they do it on purpose to be limelight ..what they do in private is between them and God ..but they should take some responsibility for what they put out there ..instead they justify it

Pakistani Actors should promote their culture. Their beautiful attires without copying Western countries. Pakistani and Indian outfits are the most beautiful one all over the world. Why can't they wear their own national cloths.

Yes exactly my point

And the Pak designers are just so so so so so good....I HV watched a few ramp shows and eyes literally dazzled with the glamour

But unfortunately those fashion shows don't get enough viewership

Hence these red carpet events can be the best platform to flaunt them

Celebrities can choose to wear whatever they want- western or desi. Infact, wearing western designer in national events and wearing national designers in international events is a better way to bridge the gap. Now Critics/public can voice their opinion on how good or distasteful is what these celebs are wearing without getting personal and certainly not forcing their views on what these ladies SHOULD BE and SHOULDN'T BE wearing. Choice of what to wear is always that of the wearer - now they could do that based on various factors like their confidence, their body type, the social expectations, religious believes, cultural pressure etc. If they don't want to be bound by the shackles of social expectations of an ideal woman by SOMEONE ELSE'S yardstick, let them be.

I never consider actors and social media stars as flag bearers of culture, political views, biggest representatives of their countries or role models. If the youth considers them role models, that is a problem. Show them better role models. Teach them to identify & idolize right people rather than forcing everyone in limelight to adhere to what we think is right.

I agree. In fact I find stars the most far persons from being perfect.. for this I feel happy seeing them making blunders.😈😆 I think youth are smart, they can see right from wrong. They are able to differantee from what celebs do and wear, and what is suitible for them in their society. If they imitate those celebs it is because there is something wrong in their upbringing. I remember when I was a teenager I was a huge fan of American singers..yet I knew what they do in real lives, or even in their songs or movies is against my religion and culture.. so didn't follow them. Only enjoyed watching their art.😳

Yeah they can wear whatever they want. But they should not forget that they are representing their country.

Do western actors ever wear eastern outfits in any events then why eastern actors needs to wear western cloths in their events
