Madhu, thanks for the review of Shantharam. I took the book to read but was scared by the bulk of it. LOL

Right now I am beginning with Mitch Albom's 5 people you meet in heaven.

Loved Kite Runner, dying to watch the film.

Go on Roja... be daring. This book has mixed feelings too.

My dad once bought for us a book about Idi Amin whilst he was in Singapore. Apparently that book was banned here. I think I was about 15 when I read that book. After reading that book, this is jujubee. Seriously. My guts all laid on the floor. It is not a book a 15 years old should read nor for weak heart.

Thanks for the preview of the Kite Runner movie, Madhu. Will watch out for it when it comes around since you assure me it did as much justice as it possibly could to the book. Hmmm, I must get back to the novel reading habit; my textbooks are weighing me down.

I have just finished an incredible book. It has surpassed even The Kite Runner in my estimation. It really is a brilliant book and I would recommend it to everyone.

It's called Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom.

I just love it; I think it is also much better than Tuesdays with Morrie - but my friend thinks that the latter is better.

Five People is a book to be read over, over and over again.

Jay, I thought I was in the minority because my friends did not like it as much as Tuesdays with Morrie. I am ecstatic that someone agrees with me.😃

"Forgive, Edward. Forgive. Do you remember the lightness you felt when you first arrived in heaven?"

Eddie did. Where is my pain?

"That's because no one is born with anger. And when we die, the soul is freed of it....."

This paragraph was just brilliant and gripped me. It is just one of the many gems in the book. 😊 You have to read it a few times to get all the nuances and messages. One thing that you learn from this book : things may not be what you think they are.
