Is that new, Jay? I haven't yet although it sounds familiar. Adrian Mole was made into a TV series and the actress who played his mother is the great Julie Waters.

I am now reading Peter Mayle....will tell you all my opinion after I finished with it.

Oh, the series stayed true to the books. Julie Walters just rocked.

Just heard about a book called "Shantaram" by Gregory David Roberts. I am reading it right now. will come back with a review for you all. Heard that Johnny depp is going to make that a movie and Big B has an important role in it.

Thanks for the info Mahdu.

Yesterday, I read in the papers, that they are making the movie on Kite Runner. There is a scene on the boy getting raped.

Now the actors are worried, this might inflitrate back to their country Afghan, and might cause some kind of trouble to the minority.

So the actors, have now fled to UAE for their safety. How sad?

I got this book at a warehouse recently. A Chinese lady looked at it and said that I had made an excellent choice. Can't wait to start on it. 😃

Why am I not surprised? Anyway, I think they shouldn't even film that scene and leave it to the audience's imagination. It is really a shocking scene in the book, imagine if it was on film. 😔

I am just reading Kite Runner - very
disturbing - normally when I take a book
in my hands, I never put it down - carry
it along to the kitchen, mail box ....
but this one is so disturbing that I
leave it on the coffee table - where it
can never escape my eyes!!! - wait a while
and go back to it - the mixed feeling is
an agony.. but what to do???

That's why I loved it though - it was gripping and moving and I could not put it down. 😳
