Kaise Bataoon Main Tumhe Lyrics - Wajood

Kaise bataoon main tumhe
Mere liye tum kaun ho, kaise bataoon
Kaise bataoon main tumhe
Tum dhadkanon ka geet ho
Jeevan ka tum sangeet ho
Tum zindagi, tum bandagi
Tum roshni, tum taazgi
Tum har khushi, tum pyaar ho
Tum preet ho, manmeet ho
Aankhon mein tum, yaadon mein tum
Saanson mein tum, aahon mein tum
Neendon mein tum, khwaabon mein tum
Tum ho meri har baat mein
Tum ho mere din raat mein
Tum subah mein, tum shaam mein
Tum soch mein, tum kaam mein
Mere liye pana bhi tum
Mere liye khona bhi tum
Mere liye hansna bhi tum
Mere liye rona bhi tum
Aur jagaana sona bhi tum
Jaaoon kahin, dekhoon kahin
Tum ho wahan, tum ho wahin
Kaise bataoon main tumhe
Tum bin to main kuchh bhi nahi
Kaise bataoon main tumhe
Mere liye tum kaun ho

Yeh jo tumhara roop hai
Yeh zindagi ki dhoop hai
Chandan se tarsha hai badan
Behti hai jismein ik agan
Yeh shokhiyaan, yeh mastiyaan
Tumko hawaon se mili
Zulfein ghataon se mili
Hothon mein kaliyan khil gayi
Aankhon ko jheelein mil gayi
Chehre mein simti chandni
Awaaz mein hai ragini
Sheeshe ke jaisa ang hai
Phoolon ke jaisa rang hai
Nadiyon ke jaisi chaal hai
Kya husn hai, kya haal hai
Yeh jism ki rangeeniyan
Jaise hazaaron titliyan
Baahon ki yeh golaiyan
Aanchal mein yeh parchhaiyan
Yeh nagariya hai khwaab ki
Kaise bataoon main tumhe
Haalat dil-e-betaab ki
Kaise bataoon main tumhe
Mere liye tum kaun ho, kaise bataoon
Kaise bataoon

Kaise bataoon main tumhe
Mere liye tum dharm ho
Mere liye imaan ho
Tumhi ibadat ho meri
Tumhi to chahat ho meri
Tumhi mera armaan ho
Takta hoon main har pal jise
Tumhi to woh tasveer ho
Tumhi meri taqdeer ho
Tumhi sitara ho mera
Tumhi nazara ho mera
Yoon dhyan mein mere ho tum
Jaise mujhe ghere ho tum
Purab mein tum, pashchim mein tum
Uttar mein tum, dakshin mein tum
Saare mere jeevan mein tum
Har pal mein tum, har chhin mein tum
Mere liye rasta bhi tum
Mere liye manzil bhi tum
Mere liye sagar bhi tum
Mere liye saahil bhi tum
Main dekhta bas tumko hoon
Main sochta bas tumko hoon
Main jaanta bas tumko hoon
Main maanta bas tumko hoon
Tumhi meri pehchan ho
Kaise bataoon main tumhe
Devi ho tum mere liye
Mere liye bhagwan ho
Kaise bataoon main tumhe
Mere liye tum kaun ho, kaise bataoon

"Great leaders live and leave noble and indelible footprints. Any leader can start something. Any leader can do anything but, the real hallmark and a great measure of a great leader is not necessarily what happens now but, what happens later. The noble works of a true and a great leader stand the test of time and never vanish with time." ? Ernest Agyemang Yeboah

Thenmozhi stood at the bow of the ship as a steady wind filled the sails of the two masts of the ships and carried it swiftly across the river and soon entered the deep, salty blue waters of the mighty sea.For her this was a new experience and she was totally fascinated by the vastness of the sea and the many fishes that swam in its waters.

She looked at the two masts with their sails spread out as if they were Azhagan and her standing with their hands spread out as wings and feeling the lift on top of a mountain. The memory of him filled her soul with such blinding pain that many a time, she crumpled and fell to the ground. The few that saw her in this state wisely left alone for a sense of anger and barely controlled violence emanated from her and even the monk thought better of it and was also told to avoid her by the one they traveled with and the one they were sworn to protect and defend with their very lives

The change that had begun with Thenmozhi her facing the truth of her faults and selfishness and that which had led her to venture on this voyage to a new destiny now took strong roots and she felt a difference in her soul and body.

It had been nearly three days since she had left madurai and yet she felt less and less homesick and also sensed a growing responsibility towards life and all that made its home in this world.

But there was something else that alerted all her senses and she went around the ship constantly trying to find what it was and why she felt that mysterious power gnawing at her senses.Thenmozhi was certain that there was something on the ship that was a source of immense power and yet that power was cleverly shielded and protected from everyone's eyes and knowledge.

And then there was the sense of danger that came from the path behind them and this prompted Thenmozhi to stand guard on the rear of the ship for she sensed something was following them and she also knew that at some point before they reached land she would have to face the darkness that was pursuing the ship or something that was on the ship.

On the fourth night,Thenmozhi stood like a statue carved of stone and stared intensely into the night, with her eyes straining to see the darkness that she felt was coming towards them. She wished she had her powers that Azhagan had somehow destroyed when he had taken their son from her.But it did not matter for she had her skills with her sword and other fighting techniques along with her resolute heart. And if it came to that, all the soldiers aboard the ship would stand and fight for otherwise it meant death to all.

Sensing someone behind her,she turned to see who it was and was surprised to see a small boy wrapped in buddhist robes standing and watching her with a lovely, bewitching smile on his tender lips.

From his features and skin,Thenmozhi could make out that the boy had come from far north and belonged to the snow filled lands that lay in the shadow that her god lord shiva cast from his mountain abode.

Thenmozhi realising that the boy was no threat, relaxed ' child,go in for it is very cold and you might catch a cold.'

The boy smiled ' what about you? you have not slept a wink from the day you boarded this ship and yet you worry about me and everybody else.'

Thenmozhi was shocked to hear the boy speak in such pure tamil ' I am Thenmozhi.Who are you child?'

The boy sighed and gently shrugged his tiny shoulders ' i have so many names and i get very confused.Although i prefer the name that my parents called me,it has been forgotten and no one addressed me with that name for the sake of my own safety and those that travel with me.

Thenmozhi although intrigued, remained silent and waited for the boy to say more.

The boys eyes suddenly brightened ' I could tell you my real name and it could be our little secret and i would be happy if you could call me that when we are alone.'

Thenmozhi nodded ' okay,it will be our secret.'

'yeshe,my name is yeshe and that is the name that was given to me by my parents.'

Thenmozhi smiled lovingly 'okay,i will call you with that name and only when we are all alone.'

The boy smiled happily and his tender smile melted her soul and then he looked at her achingly ' do you think that you can call me with that name for i have been away from home for so long that i miss my parents very much and it would lighten the sadness if i hear you whisper my name.'

Thenmozhi knelt down and facing the child ' yeshe, but what does yeshe mean?'

The moment Thenmozhi said the name, the boy ran to her and held her tightly and the warmth of his tears ran down her breasts and her stomach and she felt a strange surge of power in her body. Her natural instinct told her to push the boy away and yet her soul told her to hold on to his tiny body for she knew that somehow their destinies were connected and they had come together for a reason and a purpose.

Wiping his tears the boy softly whimpered ' they tell me that my name yeshe means " wise one",although i neither believe it nor feel any wiser than other human beings.'

Thenmozhi used the hem of her garment ' but you wouldn't have been bestowed with such a beautiful and great name for the sake of your parents and care must have been taken when it was given to you.But your name aside, what are you doing so far away from your home and people?'.

Yeshe smiled showing gaps in his teeth ' I am supposed to be someone very important and the start of a new beginning of my order. But right now there is much confusion and chaos from where i come and that is why it is was decided by my other older and wiser men of the council to send me away to a far off land and then return when it will be much safer for me and others like me who are going to come and restore faith in those that have lost it.'

Thenmozhi was awestruck and amazed to hear all that the boy was saying and yet she could not help wonder if the boy had the gift of a wild imagination and a fantastic story telling technique.

Yeshe touched Thenmozhi's cheek ' no,i am not lying or making it up.If indeed i was lying, you wouldn't have responded to my call and crossed the river to be on this boat and surely we wouldn't have had this conversation.'

Thenmozhi laughed loudly ' so,you too are a mind reader.Well,i was one and i knew another before but he is gone and so have my powers. And now i have to rely totally on my inner senses and instinct.'

' your powers are not gone and they can never be taken away by another for they are the gifts of god and only he has the power to take it away.Your powers are intact but lie dormant under a layer of guilt and remorse.Once they are removed, you will be more than what you were and yet much better than what you thought you could be.'

Hearing these words being spoken by yeshe,Thenmozhi felt a pain grip her heart ' who are you? really who are you and what is your real name?'

yeshe smiled gently and suddenly an aura of soft white light seemed to pour out from his body ' come closer mother and let me whisper my name into your soul.'

Yeshe held thenmozhi in his aura ' my name is Avalokitevara.I am supposed to be here for a certain time so that i can start the new order which will follow after my death.'

They sat watching the darkness of the sea under millions of stars that were like precious stones and thenmozhi gently threw her arms around yeshe ' i will protect you and defend you until there is breath in this body.I promise that no harm will come to you as long as there is life in me.'

Yeshe smiled ' I know mother and that is why our paths have crossed.I call you mother for like me you will stand and fight for many others and in that service your mind and heart will heal from the pain that has been caused to you.'

Thenmozhi stroking the boys head ' pain, what does a tiny boy like you know about pain?'

Yeshe looked into her eyes and then looked at the stars ' they have gone home and yet one day they will return and so will you return to the stars that you once called home.'

Thenmozhi startled and shaken ' how do you know so much for one so little?'

yeshe took Thenmozhi's palms and kissed them softly ' Avalokitevara means Bodhisattva, one who has compassion for all souls and one who sees all,in this universe and other universes.'

Thenmozhi gently slipped to her knees and bowed humbly ' master,i am no mother and surely i cannot be a mother to one as great as you.I lie in darkness and have fallen.'

Yeshe too sank to his knees and throwing his tiny arms around her neck ' No,there is no more darkness for i have come to give you the light and bring you back to light.'

He looked at her with his love filled tiny bright eyes 'repeat after me " Om Mani Padme Hum"

The moment Thenmozhi whispered the word, she felt an immense weight being lifted off from her soul.

A tremendous energy filled her body and the night crackled with green light as a powerful aura surrounded thenmozhi.

yeshe softly kissed her wet cheeks ' rise now mother and rise to redemption.'

The warrior monk rose with the child who was going to be the beginning of the order of the DALAI LAMA and both stood facing the sea.

I am BHIKSHUNI Thenmozhi. These are the stories of my voyage to a new life and a new destiny.I am heaven and hell.I am fire and water and i will bring peace to you.

REDEMPTION-165

Grief knits two hearts in closer bonds than happiness ever can; and common sufferings are far stronger links than common joys.Alphonse de Lamartine

The emptiness in her soul was filled by the love that sprang for yeshe and the love and protection of Thenmozhi filled the emptiness that was a gaping hole in the tiny soul, separated from his parents.

In a ship full of battle scarred soldiers on one side and monks who had turned their minds away from worldly pleasures and now only coveted peace that Buddha gave them, the love and bonding of yeshe and thenmozhi melted both the extreme sides of the life and in common all looked on the two with love and pleasure.

They say that like breeds like and on this single ship headed to the coasts of malaya, love bred more love and soon everyone fell under the spell of yeshe and thenmozhi.

Having been brought up in the court of the late Kulashekaran pandyan and being the daughter of his most trusted minister, thenmozhi had been given an advantage over most children of her age.She had been exposed to the highest quality of education in academics and training in warfare at a very young age. Many a time, she had sat on the throne along with the king and had watched, listened and learnt about life and people and their various shades of character when it came to matters of money and power.

Thenmozhi taught yeshe everything that she had learnt from the king and her father and then she taught him things that Azhagan had taught her about worlds and life beyond this universe.

But however hard she tried, she could not bring yeshe to lift a weapon and learn some basic skill about weapons and how to fight and defend himself.

' mother, every life has a purpose and like the rest i too have a purpose and that is to spread the message of buddha and his love.My purpose is my life and soul and it will be nothing the moment i try to fight and protect this temporary shell called my body.'

Thenmozhi looked at him ' what about me yeshe? what do you think my purpose is?'

Yeshe smiled, showing just a few teeth in his tiny mouth 'mother, you know your purpose and you know why you do what you do.Just like i have a message, you too have a message and that is to have courage and fight even when one is down and faced with great odds.'

The day passed quickly and soon the chill of the salty sea began to wrap itself around everyone in the ship.

Thenmozhi gently carried yeshe who had fallen asleep on her lap and took him down to her quarters and lay him in the bed and covered him with a soft quilt.

Later, deep into the night, the monk found thenmozhi standing in the stern of the ship and looking back as if she was trying to see something in the dark of the seas behind them.

' Bhikshuni, what is it? why do you stand at the rear of the ship every night and keep such constant vigil? Can you see some form of threat coming towards us? Are we in immediate danger?'

Thenmozhi with her back still facing the monk whispered ' so many questions and yet you know the answers to all of them.'

She turned and looked at the monk and her senses sped like light and reached into the monks mind and grasped something before he chanted something and clouded it with his own senses. But it was too late and thenmozhi knew that her fears were correct and a slow, burning anger filled her voice.

With restraint ' monk,i am not asking you to trust me and all i am asking you is to share with me the details and knowledge of what is coming after us.I know that you know that something dark and terrible has been pursuing us and sooner than later we will be facing it.So,i ask you for the sake of yeshe's life, what is going on and what is it that is coming after us?'

The monk with a worried expression mumbled ' i thought we were safe. But i was wrong for there seems to be no stopping this force of evil that has been after yeshe from the time he was born and now after land it seems certain that is will catch up eventually and even if we go to the end of the world.'

Thenmozhi remained silent and the monk resigned to the situation ' To understand this darkness that is fast approaching us is to understand the single most important prophecy of a sufi saint "Qutb al-Din al-Shirazi".

' who is he and what is this prophecy?'

Two lights, hidden and out of sight
one light, bright and white of the soul
one light, bright and from the stars
will cross paths and travel as one
together they fill the void
and as one they will be
mother and son
love and war,peace and death
they are never far
through him you reach her
and a new order is born
heaven and hell
fire and water

Thenmozhi absorbed every word and then calmly looked at the monk ' mother and son.Does it have anything to do with me and yeshe?'

The monk shook his head ' i have no idea and honestly i don't know what it means when the prophecy says, one light is from the stars. For then it means some form of angel or god that has descended from the heavens above and we know that is impossible.'

Thenmozhi smiled ' monk,go rest now and let me ponder over this prophecy and riddle.'

later,in the dark of the night and under the stars,Thenmozhi sat still, drowned deep in her thoughts, when the voice whispered ' child, all answers stem and flow from one point and that is you.The answer to this prophecy lies in your past and in your roots.Worry not,for they will come to you at the time you need them the most and when the situation is dire and beyond salvation.'

The soft bonds of love are indifferent to life and death. They hold through time so that yesterday's love is part of today's and the confidence in tomorrow's love is also part of today's. And when one dies, the memory lives in the other, and is warm and breathing. And when both die - I almost believe, rationalist though I am - that somewhere it remains, indestructible and eternal, enriching all of the universe by the mere fact that once it existed.Isaac Asimov

CONCEIVE & CREATE

"Minds are like flowers, they only open when the time is right." Stephen Richards

Like the womb of a mother,a person's mind is a sacred place where thoughts are conceived and given life and form and in the end delivered as a story,an article,a poem,a painting and so much more beautiful creations.
There are so many parallels between the creation of new life in the womb and the creation and birth of new and beautiful thoughts in one's mind that it would just suffice to let the statement stand.

The thing about writing is that every time i sit to write a new chapter as i am doing now with Redemption,a new lead,a new twist comes alive and then the story jumps and leaps forward into more and more diverse chapters.

When i conceived the return of Thenmozhi,i thought i would just give her a good ending that she deserved and did not get in the end of the last story and thought that i must somehow link her to the story of Rudran and Renuka and end it in Thenmozhi rising to redemption. But then the crossing of the sea between india and sri vijaya kingdoms brought in the characters of yeshe and the coming of the future order of Dalai lama.

I started with Rudran rescuing the rape victims and now here we are on the high sea with a horde of islam warriors after Yeshe and Thenmozhi and so this is how my thought process has been working off late.

After finishing posting a new chapter,i walk away and forget the story and just wait for the water of thoughts and creativity to ooze and fill the spring of my story telling spring and then i circle around with the start of the next chapter and once it takes shape i dive in and just quickly attack the key board.

While shooting for the web series " maya thirai", i happened to mention to Afzar, a fellow tv actor and a very talented and famous one at that about scribbling and writing and a few days later when we met,he said 'ji,simply awesome' and i thanked him for the compliment and shrugged my shoulders and said that i was indulging my childhood fantasies and the magical world i escaped to from my orphan and often chaotic childhood.

I often use the words heaven and hell for it means so much to me as over the years i have made heaven into hell and magically made hell into heaven and have now realized that both states lie in our mind and we do have control over it.

I have realised that although a life is mortal and temporary and no matter how hard we try to find the answer and purpose to its functioning, which is impossible,it does make for a beautiful voyage and i have now found the real purpose to my life.

Duty, responsibility to other lives.Yes,each of us has a duty and each of us are responsible for other lives and we must do and go out of our way to do good and protect and defend those that need that from us.

I hope in my own way, am bringing you some happiness and time pass entertainment with my thoughts and i thank you all for letting me do that.No matter what,no matter when and regardless of the end i want to think and hope that my life and its thoughts will be remembered by some of you and hope that it brought some clarity and a sense of new way to view life.

I am very sure that there is a lot more buried deep in my soul and as it springs and breaks the surface i will give them shape and conceive them as a story and deliver it to your care.

For in the end we are all mothers and we are all fathers.I remain thus a soul,a form on an eternal voyage.

"When you connect to the silence within you, that is when you can make sense of the disturbance going on around you." Stephen Richards

REDEMPTION-166

"If people were employed at creating heaven on earth, everybody would be happy; instead each one is creating his own heaven by creating hell for others." Bangambiki Habyarimana, The Great Pearl of Wisdom

The next morning, loud voices alerted Thenmozhi who was resting in her cabin and she rushed to the deck to see what was happening and the ships captain pointed to a a speck on the southern tip of the sea.Like lightning,Thenmozhi went up the ships mast and stood at the top most point of the ship and stared at the speck.

She yelled down to the captain ' a large ship, but smaller than ours. But the deck is filled with tough looking men and the one at the bow is pointing in our direction.'

Seeing the dejected face of the captain,Thenmozhi slithered down and asked him why he was worried about a ship that lay so far away from them.

' my lady, even though our ship is much bigger, that ship moves and steers better and can easily dance steps around us.Moreover,we are handicapped by having only very few to manage this large ship. But more than anything that ship is full of pirates and murderers and that is their only purpose.plunder, kill, rape and sell the rest as slaves.I thought we were being blessed by good weather by the gods and hoped that we could safely make our way to land without any confrontations. But is guess it is too late for that.'

The captain hesitated ' Lady,i and my crew have seen many battles and are not worried about our lives and futures but we are worried for your safety for you are the only woman on board and we have seen what these pirates do to women and i suggest that if it comes to that situation,it is better to die than suffer at the hands of these scum.'

Thenmozhi nodded with a smile' we will plan for that moment if and when it comes but i want you to tell me when that ship might reach us and make contact.'

The ships captain stood straining his eyes and after making some sort of calculation turned to thenmozhi ' they will reach us by nightfall and it will be to their advantage for they are used to night warfare and their numbers are much larger than our soldiers who number 50 or so.'

Thenmozhi smiled ' captain, point the ship towards our destination and worry no more for i have a plan and i will tell you about it later in the evening.'

The captain stood hesitating but the look that Thenmozhi gave him was enough to send him to his stations at the steering wheel.

She turned to the speck and thought ' night warfare.we just have to wait and see about that.'

yeshe gently held her hand ' mother,i know what you are going to do.'

' child,we live in a dangerous world where one has to fight to protect what is theirs and also fight to protect their very way of life.would you rather be captured by these villains who respect nothing and know only evil and be sold into slavery.'

yeshe sank into deep thought ' This is how it has been i guess and this is the way of life all over the universe and like two halves, good and bad always wage war and i wonder why all is good or all is bad.I want to know what created this divide and divisions.'

Thenmozhi held him close to her body ' child, this is why Buddha left the palace and sat under a tree contemplating and meditating. To know why we are,who we are and why some are good and some are evil. Why there is so much suffering, when there can be so much happiness.'

Yeshe looked at her ' what is going to happen, mother?'

' Nothing is going to happen and we are going to reach our destination safely.'

The day rolled and time flowed and the speck of ship soon became large and kept growing larger as it came closer and closer to their ship. The steady wind that had filled the sails of the mighty chola ship and had kept it moving now suddenly started slowing down and although the men below began to roar and row the pirate ship began to move in closer and closer and soon everyone was clearly visible to everyone on each ship.

Not bothered and completely at ease,Thenmozhi stood at the rear of the ship and marveled at the two halves in the sky.The setting sun in the west was all pink and orange and the black of the night was all dark and terrible and the two ships sailed under fading light and the gathering dark.

Thenmozhi with her hands folded, bent her head gently and then stared hard at the sinking sun and whispered a prayer

mukannane,ellam arintha en aiyane
porukku selgiren
mann arintha intha paatham
kadal meethu neentha pogirathu
enakaaga naan vendiya naatkal nyabagam illai
iruppinum ippozhudhu naan vendugiren

en paathukaapil irukkum intha kapalaiyum
en paathukaapil irukkum intha uyirgalaiyum
naan karai serkum varai
en uyir un paathukaapil

In total darkness, the captain came to thenmozhi ' my lady, the whole ship lies in darkness as you have ordered and if i may ask, could you please tell me your plan now.For darkness is only for so long and soon the sun will return and then there will be nowhere to run.'

Thenmozhi turned to him ' captain,by the time the sun rises again,it will rise on a different scenario.'

The captain of the ship looked at her in confusion.

Thenmozhi pointed to the pirate ship which lay brightly lit by many fires as they were trying to search for their ship they were after ' captain keep the ship pointed towards our destination.Tonight i am going to solve two problems that are worrying us.one is that ship and the other is still out of sight but coming fast.'

The captain by now totally confused and nervous ' my lady, how are you going to manage that? we are so few of us and they number nearly a hundred.'

Thenmozhi smiled and like and arrow jumped off the ship and dived deep into the sea and holding her breath swam quickly in the dark waters.

The ships captain stood with his mouth and eyes wide open ' who are you my lady? what is the force that has blessed you so much power and courage?'

If only he knew what the power was,he would have laughed for none knew or would believe and would only pass it off as a miracle,a fluke of nature.

But they have been here. They have always been here and they are called The Ancients and they are the Guardians of this universe and Thenmozhi was a light that sprang from them along with Azhagan.

Back in the ship,Yeshe sat with his eyes closed and saw and felt everything and whispered " Om Mani Padme Hum"
and in the waters of the sea, Thenmozhi swam towards the ship whispering " My lord Azhagan, give me wings, grant me strength and stay in my soul as i fight for things that you fought for.'

Thenmozhi rose from the dark waters behind the pirates ship and saw with her green eyes that all of them were crowding the bow of the ship and leaped at a rope that hung nearly fifteen feet above her and grasping it,pulled herself up and over the ship and landed softly on the deck of the pirates ship.Quickly, she drew her sword and brought up her shield and crouching ran quietly and hid herself in the shadows and made her plans.

"Whatever you are physically...male or female, strong or weak, ill or healthy--all those things matter less than what your heart contains. If you have the soul of a warrior, you are a warrior. All those other things, they are the glass that contains the lamp, but you are the light inside." Cassandra Clare, Clockwork Angel

REDEMPTION-167

Who is a mother? What makes a mother a mother? Does it only denote "one who has a child" or is it something more? Can a mother be someone who has no children? Official definitions of mother range from one who "gives birth to a child" to adoptive or stepmothers to mothering meaning "to watch over, nourish and protect maternally." This means that every woman has the capacity to be a mother whether they have children or not.

To protect and to defend

Amidst all the noises and screams being made by the pirates, the keen ears of Thenmozhi picked up mumbles and whispers that she realised were prayers to god.She stood up in a hurry and threw all her senses forward and her mind expanded and she heard the terrified screams of women and little girls.

Her grip on the sword tightened and she stepped forward, her ears focused only on the position from where the noise was coming from and it left her hands free and into her sight came two men and they died clutching their throats as thenmozhi slashed with lightning and deadly speed. She stood still and then looked down and pinpointed the place from where the cries were coming from and knew it was coming from below the decks and she looked and found a passage that led down to the decks.

The whimpers and cries had alerted thenmozhi that many were in danger and this awoke all her other worldly senses and raised all her ancient guardian instincts to its peak and in the darkness of the passage,Thenmozhi descended with her eyes blazing green.

There was no fear, there was no panic and surely there was not going to be any mercy for those who would face her for this was not a gentle bhikshuni but a raging lioness who would fight to death to protect and defend her cubs and for thenmozhi all innocent and weak lives were now her cubs.

There were three men standing guard at a door to a room from where the frightened noises were coming from and all three turned and watched in awe and then in fear as a beautiful woman blazing green fire came towards them.

They say all of us feel it fleetingly as death comes to us and many who have come, gone and come back explain this in the following ways " cold, deathly cold and one knows instinctively that it is a feeling not of life but one that is from afterlife.'

For almost everyone, another's thoughts are known to us only by their eyes which are supposed to be the true reflection of ones soul and yet the three who stood guard knew what was in Thenmozhi's soul from her every movement towards them.

The passage was small and not enough to free one's arms to swing, cut, slash and parry their swords and the men rushed at her with just anger, awe and fear and Thenmozhi went down on one knee and straightened her arm and the first two impaled themselves with their charge and the third fell back in fear and began to bang on the door.

Thenmozhi stood up and placing her right foot on the chest of the dead pirate and drew her sword out of his chest and the blood came gushing out and it poured all over her body and splattered on her face.

She looked down and saw that both were dead and then she stood menacingly and slowly walked towards the third man who was frantically banging on the door to the room and it opened and in the dim light stood a brutal and ugly looking man and totally naked.

One look at him and his naked genitals she knew what evil he had been up to and and with a blood curdling roar,Thenmozhi charged towards him at lightning speed.

The third man mustering courage which had left him jumped between the man in the entrance of the room and thenmozhi and this gave the man time to step back and shut the door and was just enough time for the man to die.

Thenmozhi stood calmly like a volcano that gave no indication that it was going to explode and whispered ' you must obviously be the captain of this wretched vessel and i want you to hear my words very carefully for i will say them just once. There is no place other than this ship for you to run to,so come out and die fighting bravely rather than run and like a rat that you are.'

She waited barely a few moments before delivering a thundering kick to the door that shattered to pieces and entered the room and stood in trembling rage and shock for before her were a few women naked and cowering in fear.

They sat on the floor, bloodied and bruised and they looked at Thenmozhi with a lost expression and then realising that she was not another pirate that had come to take over the ship, they cried in despair.

Thenmozhi looked at all of them and one of the women pointed to a large window that lay open and she knew that the rat of a captain had made his escape to the top of the ship and would soon be gathering his men to launch an attack.

' are there any more of you?' and the women nodded and thenmozhi taking a deep breath ' get dressed and follow me'

The women meekly nodded and stumbling to their feet, covered themselves with their stained and torn clothes and followed Thenmozhi up the stairs to the top of the ship.

From the belly of the ship,Thenmozhi rose and suddenly for no reason she unexpectedly remembered Azhagan and the time in perumalvaram when he had lost his mother to the attack by Rajendra cholan and she remembered his anger and grief.

This painful memory from her past gave the already raging thenmozhi a surge of anger and then she heard the same voice from last night whispering ' Rise thenmozhi and know that all warriors of the light are mothers and protectors. You wanted a way out of your darkness and a chance at redemption and a way back into the light but little did you know that you are the light itself.Come child, cast away all your niggling doubts and embrace the light and walk in his footsteps.'

A sob escaped her throat and tears bloomed in her eyes and the green aura that surrounded her now quickly turned orange and suddenly Thenmozhi saw everything more clearly and most importantly the path that lay before her.

They stood behind their captain not knowing what to expect and they stood, nearly a hundred men armed with deadly weapons and all their eyes were on the door that led to the decks below.

None of them knew what to expect or the nature of the enemy and the dangers that they posed and then out from below and on to the deck came a woman blazing a strange light and with eyes that made it very clear to all those who caught sight of her that she brought death along with her and tonight was judgement day.

In total darkness, all stood watching from aboard the Chola ship not knowing what to expect and what to do for their new leader and warrior was all alone on that pirate ship waging a war single handedly.

The monk looked at Yeshe ' wise one,who is this woman and what is she made of and where does she get all this courage from?'

Yeshe who stood on a tall stool for a better view of the pirate ship that lay lit with its many fires looked at the monk and the others ' each time i think i know who she is,i am proved wrong and i think she is involved im matters that are far behind my wisdom and knowledge. As to her power and courage the only source i can think of are the stars and their infinite depths.'

One of the monks in confusion ' wise one, what do you mean by stars.do you really mean the stars that shine down on us?'

Yeshe nodded ' she and her kind have journeyed from beyond the stars and they go a long way back, way back before even our sun and earth formed. But there is one thing that escapes my vision and that is a source of power that follows her in the shadows, protecting her and always there watching over her.'

Yeshe kept staring at the ship and then closing his tender eyes whispered ' they are one and they are inseparable and although she does not know it he is there in her soul, filling her and completing her.'

Then all hell broke loose and even from the distance they heard the roar and battle cry of thenmozhi and over the sea came the roaring words ' I come in his name and in the name of the light. In the name of 'Azhagan,Pakalon,Maasilan,Kathiravan,Meykandan,Koman,Nikaran'.

I am Thenmozhi. These are the stories of my voyage to a new life and a new destiny.I am heaven and hell.I am fire and water and i will bring peace to you.

rumi

Love is reckless; not reason.

Reason seeks a profit.

Love comes on strong,

consuming herself, unabashed.

Yet, in the midst of suffering,

Love proceeds like a millstone,

hard surfaced and straightforward.

Having died of self-interest,

she risks everything and asks for nothing.

Love gambles away every gift God bestows.

Without cause God gave us Being

without cause, give it back again.

REDEMPTION-168

There is a sect, a secret sect called the Aghoras who worship a terrible form of shakti who dwells only in the land of death. She walks in the burial grounds and she is called Smashan Tara. There are many forms of her terrible form and one common form,a more diluted form is Goddess Kali.

Kali and Tara are similar in appearance. They both are described as standing upon a supine Shiva in an inert or corpse-like form. However, while Kali is described as black, Tara is described as blue. Both wear minimal clothing, however Tara wears a tiger-skin skirt, while Kali wears only a girdle of severed human arms. Both wear a garland of severed human heads. Both have a lolling tongue, and blood oozes from their mouths. Their appearances are so strikingly similar that it is easy to mistake one for the other. Indeed, they are often said to be manifestations of each other; for example, in their thousand-name hymns they share many epithets as well as having each other's names. Tara, for example, is called Kalika, Ugra-kali, Mahakali, and Bhadra-kali. Tara is said to be more approachable to the devotee (Bhakta) or Tantrika because of her maternal instincts; however a large population of Bengali Hindus approach Kali herself as "Ma" or "mother".

The legend of Kali begins with the churning of the ocean between the Devas and Asuras. Lord Shiva drank the poison (Halahala) that was created from the churning of the ocean (in the process turning his throat blue and earning him the epithet Nilakantha), thus saving the world from destruction, but fell unconscious under its powerful effect. Mahadevi Durga appeared as Maa Tara and took Shiva on her lap. She suckled him, the milk from her breasts counteracting the poison, and he recovered. This story is reminiscent of the one in which Shiva stops the rampaging Kali by becoming an infant. Seeing the child, Kali's maternal instinct comes to the fore and when she was feeding him her breast milk Shiva sucked her rage out while sucking the milk. In both cases, Shiva assumes the position of an infant vis--vis the Goddess. Mainly Tara is a form of Durga .

Like Kali, furthermore, Tara in her Hindu context enjoys blood. In her hymn of a hundred names from the Mundamala-tantra, she is called "She Who Likes Blood", "She Who Is Smeared with Blood" and "She Who Enjoys Blood Sacrifice".

DEATH DANCE OF KALI

The pirates stood with hand held wooden torches and their fires cast weird shadows all around them. The mood was very tense for none of them but for the captain had seen Thenmozhi and even he had yet to completely understand what he had just seen.

From the belly of the ship,Thenmozhi stepped out, drenched in blood and even for the hardened pirates, the sight of her was scary and everyone looked at each other and then their captain stepped forward.

' Woman, who are you and why have you invaded our ship and murdered our men?'

Seeing Thenmozhi standing silent and watching him and his men,the captain slowly began to regain his confidence and with false bravado ' one woman and that too with a sword. And here we number nearly hundred and do you think that you have the slightest chance against all of us.Drop your weapon and surrender or else you will suffer even worse than those women you just rescued.'

Thenmozhi looked down as the blood of the men she had killed slowly ran down her body,on to her feet and started making thin lines on the deck of the ship. Her thoughts again flashed back to the time when Azhagan had killed Moorkan and then slaughtered the army of rajendra cholan.

She felt his arms as they held her and embraced her and she felt his lips on her neck and as they trailed kisses on her ears and a lovely smile bloomed on her terrible face and she looked at the captain and his men.

' There will be no dawn for all of you.Tonight in this darkness, all of you go to meet your god and answer to all the atrocities you have committed and i am the one who is going to be sending you to him.'

She placed her left forward and raising her sword suddenly made a few moves in such speed that none could track her movements and yet one voice behind the captain whispered ' beautiful, magnificent.'

The captain in anger turned to the voice and saw it was one of his main men who was part of the team that led the attacks on the ships that they raided and the one who was first to board the ships they attacked and he was supposed to be a master in swordplay and the techniques of silambattam.

'Thank you very much for your observations but could you step forward and kill this woman before i chop of your head.'

His man looked at him ' sorry captain for i confess this woman and her techniques are beyond my capabilities and she is on a different level.'

The captain looked at him ' but you are called Asaan by all of us and are famed for your sword fighting and you have yet to be defeated in one on one combat and here you are hesitating and backing down to one woman.'

The man shook his head ' captain,i might be an Asaan but this woman is displaying techniques that only a Annaavi knows.'

' Annaavi, what the hell is that?'

' captain,Annaavi means grandmaster and that is the highest level in silambattam and kalaripayattu, a deadly form of fighting from the chera kingdom. And i fear that this woman could be on higher level than that too and moreover she is invoking some sort of black magic and other powers that is beyond me and all of us.'

The captain felt something clutching his soul and he knew it was the brush of death. He turned to all his men ' we attack as one and overpower her with our superior numbers for that is the only way to defeat her for we will surely lose and die if we go in ones and twos.'

A sudden gust of wind swept over the ship and lifted Thenmozhis long hair and for a second they floated all around her like a black cloud filled with hundreds of spitting snakes.

A sudden gust of even stronger wind swept over the ship and all the handheld wooden fire torches died out and the ship was plunged in darkness and then they heard her bloodcurdling roar and the next moment she was on them.

The women who had been rescued by Thenmozhi fell to their feet in awe and fear for before their eyes, the beautiful woman had become a terrible monster and she went about slaughtering all the pirates and none were spared.

Long into the dark of the night, the killing went on and grown men died squealing and whimpering in fear as the sword of Thenmozhi sliced, diced, chopped, hacked and tore them to pieces.

Time seemed to stand still as the night wore on and yet the sun rose in the east and it rose on a sea of blood and a scene of slaughter and mayhem.

The captain of the chola ship slowly steered his ship and hooks with ropes were thrown and the pirate ship was nabbed and tied to their larger ship.

Fully armed, the men from Thenmozhi's ship boarded the pirates ship and found that they could not stand properly for blood lay congealed thick and slippery on the deck and men lay dead in various poses and yet all of them had the expression of fear frozen in their faces as they had been dispatched to the nether world of hell.

They all looked at the bow of the ship, for there stood Thenmozhi, drenched in red facing the rising sun.Not knowing what to do or how to approach her,the captain looked at the monk who in turn looked at Yeshe who nodded and stepped forwards.

The tiny Yeshe slowly and tentatively approached Thenmozhi and gently held her hand and both stood watching the glory of the sun.

Thenmozhi looked down into yeshe's eyes and he looked up at her ' Mother,is it done.is it over and are we safe now.'

She shook he head ' no child, there is no end and there is no utopia and the war against evil will continue.Through you, through me and many others who will come after we have gone, ashes to ash and dust to dust. But for this day,the killing is done and we can safely reach land without worrying about the next danger which is coming, but not today.we will deal with it when it comes.'

Thenmozhi called for the captain ' clean this ship and dispose of all the bodies and destroy our ship.'

The captain ' my lady,i am sorry for i don't understand your orders.'

Thenmozhi looked at him sharply ' there is danger tracking our ship and if we destroy it and take over the pirate ship, then maybe there is a slim chance that they will think we have all been killed. And as you had said, steering this ship is far more easier than handling your vessel.'

the captain nodded ' brilliant idea.' and ran off screaming orders.

By late afternoon, all of them now sailed on the newly captured pirate ship and looked back as their own ship began to burn brightly.

Thenmozhi watched and thought to herself ' i hope i have brought us enough time to reach land and make good our escape into the jungles in the land of Sri vijaya.Yet,they will persist and they will eventually come and find us and they will not know that they venture into my domain and into death.'

I am Thenmozhi. These are the stories of my voyage to a new life and a new destiny.I am heaven and hell.I am fire and water and i will bring peace to you.

Sometimes i think the surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe is that none of it has tried to contact us.
