A 97 years old doctor's advice

Shigeaki Hinohara is one of the world's longest-serving physicians and educators. Hinohara's magic touch is legendary: Since 1941 he has been healing patients at St. Luke's International Hospital in Tokyo and teaching at St. Luke's College of Nursing.

He has published around 15 books since his 75th birthday, including one "Living Long, Living Good" that has sold more than 1.2 million copies. As the founder of the New Elderly Movement, Hinohara encourages others to live a long and happy life, a quest in which no role model is better than the doctor himself.

Doctor Shigeaki Hinohara's main points for a long and happy life:

* Energy comes from feeling good, not from eating well or sleeping a lot. We all remember how as children, when we were having fun, we often forgot to eat or sleep. I believe that we can keep that attitude as adults, too. It's best not to tire the body with too many rules such as lunchtime and bedtime.

* All people who live long regardless of nationality, race or gender share one thing in common: None areoverweight. For breakfast I drink coffee, a glass of milk and some orange juice with a tablespoon of olive oil in it. Olive oil is great for the arteries and keeps my skin healthy. Lunch is milk and a few cookies, or nothing when I am too busy to eat. I never get hungry because I focus on my work. Dinner is veggies, a bit of fish and rice, and, twice a week, 100 grams of lean meat.

* Always plan ahead. My schedule book is already full until 2014, with lectures and my usual hospital work. In 2016 I'll have some fun, though: I plan to attend the Tokyo Olympics!

* There is no need to ever retire, but if one must, it should be a lot later than 65. The current retirement age was set at 65 half a century ago, when the average life-expectancy in Japan was 68 years and only 125 Japanese were over 100 years old. Today, Japanese women live to be around 86 and men 80, and we have 36,000 centenarians in our country. In 20 years we will have about 50,000 people over the age of 100...

* Share what you know. I give 150 lectures a year, some for 100 elementary-school children, others for 4,500 business people. I usually speak for 60 to 90 minutes, standing, to stay strong.

* When a doctor recommends you take a test or have some surgery, ask whether the doctor would suggest that his or her spouse or children go through such a procedure. Contrary to popular belief, doctors can't cure everyone. So why cause unnecessary pain with surgery I think music and animal therapy can help more than most doctors imagine.

* To stay healthy, always take the stairs and carry your own stuff. I take two stairs at a time, to get my muscles moving.

* My inspiration is Robert Browning's poem "Abt Vogler." My father used to read it to me. It encourages us to make big art, not small scribbles. It says to try to draw a circle so huge that there is no way we can finish it while we are alive. All we see is an arch; the rest is beyond our vision but it is there in the distance.

* Pain is mysterious, and having fun is the best way to forget it. If a child has a toothache, and you start playing a game together, he or she immediately forgets the pain. Hospitals must cater to the basic need of patients: We all want to have fun. At St. Luke's we have music and animal therapies, and art classes.

* Don't be crazy about amassing material things. Remember: You don't know when your number is up, and you can't take it with you to the next place.

* Hospitals must be designed and prepared for major disasters, and they must accept every patient who appears at their doors. We designed St. Luke's so we can operate anywhere: in the basement, in the corridors, in the chapel. Most people thought I was crazy to prepare for a catastrophe, but on March 20, 1995, I was unfortunately proven right when members of the Aum Shinrikyu religious cult launched a terrorist attack in the Tokyo subway. We accepted 740 victims and in two hours figured out that it was sarin gas that had hit them. Sadly we lost one person, but we saved 739 lives.

* Science alone can't cure or help people. Science lumps us all together, but illness is individual. Each person is unique, and diseases are connected to their hearts. To know the illness and help people, we need liberal and visual arts, not just medical ones.

* Life is filled with incidents. On March 31, 1970, when I was 59 years old, I boarded the Yodogo, a flight from Tokyo to Fukuoka. It was a beautiful sunny morning, and as Mount Fuji came into sight, the plane was hijacked by the Japanese Communist League-Red Army Faction. I spent the next four days handcuffed to my seat in 40-degree heat. As a doctor, I looked at it all as an experiment and was amazed at how the body slowed down in a crisis.

* Find a role model and aim to achieve even more than they could ever do. My father went to the United States in 1900 to study at Duke University in North Carolina. He was a pioneer and one of my heroes. Later I found a few more life guides, and when I am stuck, I ask myself how they would deal with the problem.

* It's wonderful to live long. Until one is 60 years old, it is easy to work for one's family and to achieve one's goals. But in our later years, we should strive to contribute to society. Since the age of 65, I have worked as a volunteer. I still put in 18 hours seven days a week and love every minute of it.

CHAPTER 13

"Isn't it funny how the memories you cherish before a breakup can become your worst enemies afterwards? The thoughts you loved to think about, the memories you wanted to hold up to the light and view from every angle--it suddenly seems a lot safer to lock them in a box, far from the light of day and throw away the key. It's not an act of bitterness. It's an act if self-preservation. It's not always a bad idea to stay behind the window and look out at life instead, is it?"

My mother, you gave me your blood to feed on and like a vampire i suckled you dry.My mother you gave me a body and a mind but you did not teach me what love was and how painful it would be when it went away.My history teacher, you taught me about great wars and revolutions and yet you failed to teach me or inform me about the war between two hearts. My chemistry teacher, you taught me about compounds, rare gases and metals and strong acids. But you do not know that this pain in my heart and soul is worse than the time i spilt acid on my finger. My PT master, you taught me how to keep my body strong and yet you never taught me exercises on how to keep my soul strong and without pain.

THE LONG ROAD HOME

Stephen kissed me in the spring,
Robin in the fall,
But Colin only looked at me
And never kissed at all.

Stephen's kiss was lost in jest,
Robin's lost in play,
But the kiss in Colin's eyes
Haunts me night and day."

Sara Teasdale, The Collected Poems

Balaji sat by the window and watched darkness rush past and yet it lay before him like a carpet and it reached the edge of sight and nibbled at his heart. The speed of the train and the rocking of the coach lulled balaji into a dimension where only he existed with her.He did not resist and went to her and slowly his eyelids dropped and as usual the beautiful dream began.

FLASHBACK-COLLEGE DAYS-part one

LAVANYA she was called and like her name she was lovely and charming.Arjun thought the world of his sister and doted on her.But lavanya though equally attached to her brother just did not like his over protective nature and found it claustrophobic. She rebelled in the beginning and then the smart girl she was decided that if she wanted to do whatever she wanted to do then she would do it on the sly and still appear goody goody in her brothers eyes.Lavanya was doing her BSC.CHEMISTRY in ETHIRAJ COLLEGE and like her brother was pretty popular in her college. It was during an inter college culturals meet that lavanya met dhana and for her it was love at first sight. But dhana when introduced to her just smiled, said hello and went away.Although it was done in the right decorum lavanya felt slighted and fuel was added to the fire in her heart by her friends who teased her by saying that at last lavanya had met her match.

Lavanya used all pretexts to visit Loyola college and to bump into dhana but only kept bumping into arjun her brother who was still not aware of the real reason for his sisters frequent visits to his college. But since he loved her so much he secretly requested his gang to keep an eye on her while she was on the premises.Lavanya got lucky for on her third visit she bumped into dhana in the college library and said a big hi.Dhana looked at her and politely asked her "have we met before.anyway i am dhana,a student in this college".Lavanya had no comeback for this and got really worked up and asked if he really did not remember meeting her in the inter college culturals a few weeks back.Dhana very politely said " please forgive me for it is my fault, since i was so preoccupied with other things that day that every thing seems a blur.but i wish you well.take care".

Lavanya and her friends stood quietly when her closest friend ramya said " lava, let it go for he seems to be beyond your league and there is nothing more you can do.It is obvious he is not interested in you and you should drop this obsession right now before you hurt yourself ."Lavanya quietly nodded yes and they left. But lavanya could not just let it go for dhana kept haunting her thoughts and her ego which was now burning like the face of the sun.

"...unrequited love does not die; it's only beaten down to a secret place where it hides, curled and wounded. For some unfortunates, it turns bitter and mean, and those who come after pay the price for the hurt done by the one who came before." Elle Newmark, The Book of Unholy Mischief

Lavanya decided that she would get to dhana no matter what and quietly started plotting and yes she took her first step to the path of destruction.Through ramya she gathered information on dhana and found that the one and only closest friend he had was balaji and so she turned her wiles and guiles on the unsuspecting man.She carefully planned her moves and started slowly entering the world of balaji.A casual bump in here and a polite hi,an unsuspecting bump in a coffee shop and a polite hi and slowly they started a friendship.Although balaji could not be compared to dhana in looks and aura he still had what it took to attract a woman, although he did not know about it.His calm demeanour was first and foremost his attraction and add to that his simplicity and down to earth personality, topped by his shy nature which made women go mad after him.But balaji shrugged them and their advances away and kept to himself and made time only for dhana.

"Love is a fire. But whether it is going to warm your hearth or burn down your house, you can never tell." Joan Crawford

Fate willed and who knows why or how fate works and what the end result is going to be.But fate brought balaji and lavanya together and maybe it would have been different if balaji had informed dhana about meeting this girl for he might have said or done something to change the course of destiny. But dhana was no god or angel and just a human and so the lives, paths met and intertwined and balaji fell head over heels in love with lavanya whose only aim was dhana.Letters were exchanged, kisses were given and taken, walks were enjoyed and balajis life changed and the changes slowly but surely caught dhana's attention and he knew that his friend was in love. For lovers give away those telltale signs of smiling to themselves, staring blankly into space, loss of appetite. But for dhana the real sign was when balaji twice said he was busy with work and would not be able to meet him. That when dhana decided that it was time to get his friend to talk to him and also meet this girl who had stolen his best friends heart. But fate was still working and had not finished what she had started and she brought dhana and lavanya to bump into each other in higginbothams.

Dhana was looking for a particular book by tagore and turned to see lavanya nearby.Smilingly he said hi and told her that he had remembered her and would not make the same mistake again.Lavanya looked at him and said "well, even if i dont see you all balaji does is talk about you and how great you are." Dhana was taken aback and whispered "balaji, you mean my friend balaji" and then it struck dhana and everything clicked in his mind.He looked at lavanya and said "ok,so you are the mysterious girl who is going out with him.good, very good.i wish you both the very best."Lavanya stared into dhana's eyes and said " second best but that is okay ."Dhana stared at her wondering what she meant and lavanya " you are the first.but since i could not get you i settled for balaji so at least through him i can be around you."

Hearing those words dhana realised how complicated things were becoming and more than anything he was worried about how hurt balaji would be if he knew that lavanya was just toying with his life to hurt him.Dhana who for those few seconds had been rendered speechles had cast his eyes down, but now looked up and lavanya saw the future chief minister DHANASHEKAR PANDIYAN in full flow. All the good looks, charisma vanished and there before lavanya stood death in disguise .dhana whispered but every word was like thunder in her ears " I am going to tell you this once and you can take it as a request or a warning.it does not matter for if i see my friend hurt in anyway, then you will wish you were not born and will never wish to be born again.ever.I will not stand by and watch you destroy an innocent soul and moreover not when it is a person whom i admire and look up to.So stop these games right now and back off or else very word i uttered will be made true."dhana quitely left and lavanya did not know what to do.she was mortally scared but the warning somehow only increased her desire for revenge and she knew what she had to do.

"Learn this now and learn it well. Like a compass facing north, a man's accusing finger always finds a woman. Always. You remember that, Mariam." Khaled Hosseini, A Thousand Splendid Suns

Balaji sat down next to lavanya and gave her the paper pottalam of groundnuts and asked her how her day was.The evening had cooled and the beach was getting crowded for people thronged to be cooled by the air that flowed over the bay of bengal. Not getting any answer he told her that he would be meeting dhana later that night for they has something important to discuss and could not be put off.Lavanya looked at balaji and said "please, just this one time can we not talk about anyone else but enjoy this moment by ourselves.Seeing balaji's gentle smile she abruptly said i want you to make love to me.right now.Balaji was stunned for a second but then he said "okay but i cant take you home and the only place available would be a hotel.are you comfortable with that." lavanya said okay and they left on balajis motorcycle.Having an alumni is of great help for many things and also a sure way for information for everyone is connected to the belly of the city and its machinations.Balaji stopped to make a few calls at a PCO and came back after a few minutes with a huge grin and said "ok,i have got ourselves a room in HOTEL GANPAT on NUNGAMBAKKAM ROAD,where one of our college alumni is the FOOD & BEVERAGE MANAGER.He said he will meet me in the lounge and get things worked out.Balaji looked at lavanya with a shy grin an she smiled back at him.Reaching the hotel they were discreetly escorted to the room and they found themselves alone with each other.

"There are things you do sometimes, actions that you take by obeying sudden impulses, without stopping for even a fraction of a second to think, and then you spend the rest of your life either lamenting it or thanking yourself for it. They are rare, unique, and perfect moments." Irene Gonzalez Frei

The lovers made love as all lovers do but as in many beds love was not the only thing present. The serpent coiled itself around its prey and sunk its fangs deep and lo the poioson was balajis orgasm.Lavanya went with the flow and enjoyed the sex as much as the man on top of her and yet her every muscle and every drop of blood in her body screamed in silence DHANA! DHANA!.The act of betrayal and the thought of hurting dhana spurred her lovemaking and balaji fell deep, deep into the lair spun by the beast.

"Sometimes the heart weakens the individual that makes him/her do things he/she wouldn't normally do. Following ones heart varies by situations, but should never be followed when making decisions on critical situations. The heart is full of love and compassion thus welling to forgive, show mercy, and weakens the mind of the individual. So, be passionate of your performance and sympathize and empathize with sensitive situations, but let your mind guide your heart."

Thanks for posting Ch. 13!

That was an uncomfortable and awkward chapter to read...
but it was a very well-written chapter with a roller coaster of emotions thrown in from unexpected corners.
Unrequited love is never easy for both the rejectee and the rejector involved. True. And no magic words can make that wound less painful.
I just find it uncomfortable to see how all the anger of an unrequited love gets turned towards their object of affection.
Suddenly, the rejector is the enemy.
And the rejectee does insane things to become the enemy in the rejector's life.
Here, in this chapter, Dhana never gave Lavanya false hopes...
But her wishful thinking and ego just doesn't allow her to move on.
This is very true in real life.
Rarely, this is ever a war about man vs. woman. No one is the villain here.
It is really a battle of the mind vs. heart, where the mind knows it needs to let go but the heart refuses to do so.
You summarised the essence of it in your final quote.
I enjoyed reading all your quotations, by the way.
They are all very apt for this chapter.
It is a sensitive issue and I can see you thought out the storyline very delicately here. Well done!
This is my favourite chapter so far...and I will look forward to part two of the college flashback soon.

Thank you spain.Honestly it was more difficult to carry on this tale for there are so many avenues to venture.Emotions like love and revenge are easily parried and dealt with for at one time or another all of us deal with them.what we become after that is what defines who we are.Suffer quietly or go to war by lashing out blindly.we must sleep in the bed we make and many a time when we expect roses it is actually thorns that we find.

Many of us are guilty of looking at others our own age and thinking,
'Surely, I can't be that old'. If you've ever done this, then you'll appreciate the following.

My name is Alice Smith and I was sitting in the waiting room for my first appointment with a new dentist.

I noticed his DDS diploma, which bore his full name.
Suddenly, I remembered a tall, handsome, dark-haired boy with the same name had been in my high
school class some 40-odd years ago. Could he be the same guy that I had a secret crush on way back then?
Upon seeing him, however, I quickly discarded any such thought.
This balding, grey-haired man with the deeply lined face was way too old to have been my classmate.
After he examined my teeth, I asked him if he had attended Morgan Park High School .
'Yes. Yes, I did. I'm a mustang,' he gleamed with pride.
'When did you graduate?' I asked.
'In 1965,' he replied. 'Why do you ask?'
'You were in my class!' I exclaimed.
He looked at me closely ... and then that ugly, old, bald, wrinkled,
fat ass, grey-haired decrepit son-of-a-bitch asked, 'What did you teach?'

Pencil: I'm sorry...

Eraser: For what? You didn't do anything wrong.

Pencil: I'm sorry cos you get hurt bcos of me. Whenever I made a mistake, you're always there to erase it. But as you make my mistakes vanish, you lose a part of yourself. You get smaller and smaller each time.

Eraser: That's true. But I don't really mind. You see, I was made to do this. I was made to help you whenever you do something wrong. Even though one day, I know I'll be gone and you'll replace me with a new one, I'm actually happy with my job. So please, stop worrying. I hate seeing you sad. :)

I found this conversation between the pencil and the eraser very inspirational. Parents are like the eraser whereas their children are the pencil. They're always there for their children, cleaning up their mistakes. Sometimes along the way... they get hurt, and become smaller (older, and eventually pass on). Though their children will eventually find someone new (friends, colleagues, relatives...), but parents are still happy with what they do for their children, and will always hate seeing their precious ones worrying, or sad.

This is for all parents out there...

CHAPTER 14

By now you'd know that I'd come for you
No one but you, yes I'd come for you
And I'd fight for you
Give my life for you
You know I'd always come for you.
No matter what gets in my way
As long as there's still life in me
No matter what, remember you know I'll always come for you

NICKELBACK- I'd come for you

"When we honestly ask ourselves which person in our lives mean the most to us, we often find that it is those who, instead of giving advice, solutions, or cures, have chosen rather to share our pain and touch our wounds with a warm and tender hand. The friend who can be silent with us in a moment of despair or confusion, who can stay with us in an hour of grief and bereavement, who can tolerate not knowing, not curing, not healing and face with us the reality of our powerlessness, that is a friend who cares."? Henri J.M. Nouwen

I have cried until the tears ran out,my body was on fire and blood started pumping out of my eyes.I cried out of fear and loneliness,I cried because i was naked in this jungle called life and than the voice whispered "i am here now and will be till the end. i asked the voice who are you and the voice replied some call me god, some call me angel but then to you i am just a friend. So take my hand and steady yourself and use my shoulder to lay your weary head. And so i am no longer lonely,i am no longer scared for i have my friends beside me.I am ready to take on the world for now my friends lives are more important to me than my own life,Their pain is felt more than my own pain.I cry no more and although my world is dark my friends are there like stars in the sky,to guide me and lead me to safety if i am ever lost.

"Friendship gives us the strength to turn from lambs into lions."? Stephen Richards

FLASHBACK-COLLEGE DAYS-PART 2

Hearing footsteps dhana turned and saw balaji walking towards him and with a huge grin plastered on his face.Dhana smiled seeing the happiness on balaji's face but deep inside his soul he knew what had happened. It was nearly twelve p.m and yet dhana waited for balaji to give the reason for being late.Balaji, the quiet one seemed to be bursting with joy and then he looked at dhana and shyly said "i know i am late but i have a good reason and once you hear the reason you will not be angry with me.I was supposed to meet lavanya at marina beach and spend some time with her and then drop her home by 7.00 p.m and be here by 7.30 p.m but then things got a bit hot and steamy."dhana looked at balaji patiently and asked him to go on and balaji said " well,i dont know what got into lavanya but she said she wanted to sleep with me and i did not know what to say or do and finally said ok.We got a room in hotel ganpat through our alumni pal rajeevan and were there from 6.00 p.m.I just dropped her off and rushed here."

Dhana smiled at balaji as a parent would at a child after seeing the child commit a silly mistake. He thought how can or how do i tell him that the minute he had dropped lavanya at home and rushed to see him, lavanya had called him and taunted him about the evening she had spent with his best friend. How could he describe or explain the hurtful and hateful barbs she had thrown at him and for a second wondered if his friend would believe any of it.

Dhana gave balaji a big hug but he did it so that his friend would not see his shock and repulsion on hearing lavanya's games and also to take a few seconds to quickly compose himself.Dhana " what next, more romance or wedding bells ? Balaji shrugged and said "marriage yes but not until we are both well employed." Dhana calmly "good, very good.really a wise decision." But inside he was burning with anger and fear of what all was going to happen and what other plans lavanya had cooked up.He decided that he would wait before coming to a decision on whether to tell balaji about what was going on.

Wrong for fate does not wait to work its plans and now their lives would irrevocably change for the worst and forever.

The one time that lavanya had spoken to dhana in the college had not gone unnoticed and the news had reached arjun who decided that if dhana made any move on his sister then he would kill him, regardless of the consequences. But as days and weeks passed by arjun realised that his sister was going around with dhana's best friend balaji and his twisted mind cooked up a notion that balaji might actually be secretly helping his sister and dhana meet and let people think otherwise.so he decided that he would have a open talk with his sister and find out where things stood between her and dhana and then go to war or at least arrange it through some toughies to have dhana killed and if luck would have it,balaji too if he was present.

Balaji knocked on his sisters room and entered to see her huddled in a corner and crying her heart out.He ran to her and kneeling next to her asked her what the matter was and why she was crying. But lavanya refused to say anything and asked to be left alone. But for arjun who thought the world of her would not let go and begged her to tell him what was troubling her.Lavanya slowly looked up and whispered " i am pregnant".Balaji collapsed in shock and in shame and kept staring at her not knowing what to say or do.Composing himself he quietly asked her "who, who is responsible for this?" She did not say anything and so arjun grabbed her and shook her violently. The already upset and vengeful lavanya erupted at her brother and screamed that it was none of his business and asked him to get out of her room. But arjun was beyond reasoning, but calming himself he again pleaded with his sister to tell him who was responsible for her pregnancy.Lavanya laughed and said " the father is balaji but me and the child wish it was dhana".Arjun looked at his sister as if she had gone mad and asked her what the heck was she going on.Lavanya looked at him "you lost to him in the elections by a landslide and the few votes you got were from your chamchas who are there because you buy them booze and food.As for me your kid sister, she lost to him, sorry was rejected and cast aside.I even gave up my virginity and slept with his best friend balaji to take revenge on him and now he looks at me as if i am some kind of prostitute or worse."

Hearing these words were like somebody repeatedly plunging a knife into arjuns heart and all the pent up anger against dhana and seeing his sister in this humiliating state was more than he could bear. His heart broke and so too his soul and the devil took hold of him.He grabbed lavanya by her throat and whispered "no,never i would rather die than see you in such a state.i would rather die than see my sister become a wh**e because that bas***d rejected her" and slowly choked the life out of her.By the time he could come to his senses she was dead and that his how his father found him.Arjuns father venkatesh somehow put together what had happened and realised that arjun had killed his sister in a fit of anger because she had been pregnant. He made a few calls and matters were taken care of.The next morning police arrived as they were told and paid to do and took over lavanyas body and the whole case was dealt as a suicide and the file was closed.Only arjun, his family, the investigating cops and the government doctor knew what had happened, but the secret was buried, deep in money and erased.

When balaji heard that lavanya had committed suicide he just collapsed and cried like a child.Dhana held him tenderly not knowing what to make of the matter. He thought that the mad woman she was, lavanya must have killed herself in a fit of rage and yet even he wondered why she would do so when she had sworn revenge on him.Balaji went from bad to worse and took to drinking and drugs and was lost to him and the world. But dhana stood by him and nursed him back to health and then advised him that it would be better if he left chennai for sometime. And as luck would have it,one of his distant relatives was looking for a manager to look after their coffee estates in coorg and when dhana asked balaji if he was interested,he said yes.

The day balaji was supposed to leave to coorg, dhana decided that he would have to tell him about what had taken place and everything about lavanya.Balaji's favourite place in chennai was the marina beach and that too in the evening as the cool breeze brushed against the sea and carried the emotion into the hot and steaming city. Both stared out into the darkening waters and realised that the waters reflected their state of minds.Dhana placed his hand on balaji's shoulder and said " do you trust me." Balaji looked at dhana and said "of course i do and i trust you with my life." Dhana with a heavy heart said " i know and still i am not sure how you will take in the stuff i am going to tell you.I am saying this because i know how pure your love for lavanya was,but she didnt deserve it and was not worthy of your love." If it had been anyone else who had said these words they would have been smashed that instant.but this was dhana and balaji knew him and knew him well.So he calmly said " go on." Dhana told him everything from the first time he and lavanya had met and to the telephone call she had made after they had made love for the first time at hotel ganpat."

Balaji face which had been calm changed to shock, hate, doubt and finally he started laughing. He laughed, laughed and the whole beach could hear the roars of laughter and he laughed more as the tears ran down his face and he fell back on to the sand laughing and crying.Dhana's heart broke to see his friend like this and before he could control it he too started crying.Wiping their tears both looked at each other and realised that they had washed away lavanya with their tears and she would haunt them no more. They knew in their hearts that they were both innocent victims of a vengeful soul and now more than ever they were closer because of this tragedy.

Balaji boarded the train and dhana stood waving to him and slowly turned back and walked to his car and drove back home.

"All families have their secrets, most people would never know them, but they know there are spaces, gaps where the answers should be, where someone should have sat, where someone used to be. A name that is never uttered, or uttered just once and never again. We all have our secrets." Cecelia Ahern, The Book of Tomorrow

Death is not the end.Living is not everything. What you do with your life, what you do with the precious time given to you is everything. The basic cell in your is hard at work and not worried about the end.But on whole we,who stand tall as life,as humans who proclaim their superiority think we are immortal.Nay my dear children.Null and void is life if not lived in action. The dead are gone buried and burnt, ashes and dust but their legacy lives on.their memories live on in the dark, plotting, waiting for the time, the right time.

The train rocked balaji as a mother would rock her troubled infant and slowly he slipped into a deep sleep.Lavanya came to him and lay her body next to him.balaji looked at her in love for she was the only woman he had loved, innocent to the vengeance in her soul. She embraced him and opened her lips to kiss and then sunk her fangs deep, deep into his throat and soul.

Three monks decided to practise meditation together. they sat by the side of a lake and closed their eyes in concentration. Then suddenly, the first one stood up and said, "I forgot my mat." He steeped miraculously onto the water in front of him and walked across the lake to their hut on the other side.

When he returned, the second monk stood up and said, "I forgot to put my other underwear to dry." He too walked calmly across the water and returned the same way. The third monk watched the first two carefully in what he decided must be the test of his own abilities. "Is your learning so superior to mine? I too can match any feat you two can perform," he declared loudly and rushed to the water's edge to walk across it. He promptly fell into the deep water.

Undeterred, the wet monk climbed out of the water and tried again, only to sink into the water. Yet again he climbed out and yet again he tried, each time sinking into the water. This went on for some time as the other two monks watched.

After a while, the second monk turned to the first and said, "Do you think we should tell him where the stones are?"

After it was all over and Noah lowered the ramp of the ark for all the
animals to leave, he told the animals "To go forth and multiply."All the animals left except two snakes who lay quietly in the corner of the
ark."Why can't you go forth and multiply?" demanded Noah."We can't," answered the snakes. "We're adders."
