Chapter 12
Next day everyone went to college except Kabir and Nisha. Nisha was waiting for Kabir but he didn't come downstairs so she entered his room. He was sleeping.
Nisha- Abhi tak utha nahi yeh ladka.
She touched his hand to wake him up and realized he had fever. She panicked and called the doctor. The doctor checked him and informed her that it was due to Viral cold.
Doctor- Give him these medicines (giving her a prescription) and 2 days rest will be good for him.
Nisha- Thank you.
The doctor left. But Kabir's temperature was worrying her so she decided to bunk college.
Nisha- (called Kirti) Baby doll, main college nahi aa rahi hoon.
Kirti- Kya hua?
Nisha- Kabir has a bit fever...
Kirti- (concerned) Doctor ko bulaya?
Nisha- ya. Doctor said it's because of Viral cold.
Kirti- (worried) But you too catch viral cold fast Nishu and phir tu ekdam behaal ho jaati hai...
Nisha- Forget about me, just tell Viraj ki Sports meet ka report main parso submit kar dungi.
Kirti- (not wanting to talk to Viraj) Main princi ko bolu?
Nisha- (understanding that she wants to avoid Viraj, faking anger) Baby doll?
Kirti- (angrily) Fine.
She informed Viraj, who was sad. He would miss seeing Nisha. But wait. She was bunking college for that Kabir? Viraj was jealous again.
Here Kabir's temperature came down a bit and he woke up.
Kabir- Tu college nahi gayi?
Nisha- Nahi, I was feeling bored, so decided to bunk college.
Kabir- (shocked and sarcastic) Nisha Gangwal is bunking college? Someone, article publish karo yaar newspaper par...
Nisha- (irritated) Energy down hai, lekin jabaan...
Kabir- (completing for her) Teekhi ki teekhi hai...
Nisha sighed and handed him the soup she had prepared. He had it. Kabir was bored so Nisha and he were watching movie on television.
Nisha- Kabir, tu thodi der ke liye so jaa.
Kabir nodded and kept his head on her lap and she stroked his hair gently. She looked at him and thought, "Sote hue kitna cute lagta hai... par jab awake hota hai toh shaitaan... GOD! (sigh) Kabir, why are you so sweet yaar." She smiled at herslef, and fell asleep.
Umesh entered the house and went to Kabir's room to check on him. What he saw made him smile. He saw Nisha sleeping and supporting her head with the bed's headrest and Kabir sleeping with his head on her lap. For quite some time, he felt that Nisha loved Kabir, and today he confirmed his doubts. Without saying anything, he left from there.
Nisha woke up after sometime and went downstairs. She instructed the maid to cook light food and went to buy medicines for Kabir. Kabir woke up after 1 hour.
Nisha- You ok?
Kabir- Hmmm...
Nisha started preparing the report she had to submit, while Kabir, having no other work, started clicking her photographs. Nisha looked in his direction, and saw him with a camera.
Nisha- Tu kya kar raha hai?
He showed her the pictures he had clicked.
Kabir- (smiling) Must say, kaafi photogenic ho yaar tum...
Nisha smiled and continued doing her work and Kabir started chatting with Kirti on WhatsApp.
Kabir- Yeh Kaira ka kya chakkar hai?
Kirti- huh?
Kabir- Tujhse kuch baat karni hai, abhi nahi kar sakta. Par it's important, about Kaira.
Kirti- Kaira and Viraj are childhood friends. Kaira liked Viraj it seems, Viraj ne Nishu se aise kaha tha, idk, Anyways hum ghar pe baat karte hai na... It isn't something major is it?
Kabir- Tu ghar aa, phir baat karte hai...
He kept his cell aside and started to watch T.V
Nisha- Kabir?
Kabir- Huh?
Nisha - Khaana khaaye?
Kabir - Ok.
They went downstairs.
Kabir- (shocked and disgusted) Salad? Yuck.
Nisha- (trying to dominate) Shut up and eat.
Kabir- (stubborn) Mujhe nahi khana.
Nisha didn't know what came over her but she started to feed him. Kabir was first shocked, but then started eating. Kirti had just entered the house, but looking at the scene that was going on, shut her mouth and directly went upstairs.
Nisha- Kabir, last one.
Kabir opened his mouth and she fed him.
Nisha- (as if talking to a baby) Khatam hua...
Kabir- (imitating a baby) Yay. Maine khaana khatam kiya.
Nisha face palmed looking at his antics.
Nisha- Sarphira hai tu...
Kabir- Aur tu paagal...
Maid- (intruppting) Kabir, tumhare room mein bed ke paas yeh envelope mila tha. Tumhe chahiye?
Nisha- (confused) envelope?
She took it from the maid, but Kabir snatched it from her.
Nisha- Kya hua, kya hai usmein?
Kabir- Tujhe kyun chahiye?
He turned to go upstairs, but Nisha snatched the letter from him.
Kabir- Nisha, envelope de.
Nisha- Nahi dungi.
She ran and he followed her. She tripped because of a vase, and Kabir who was behind her, tried to save her, but both landed on the floor. Nisha looked at Kabir in shock. Their noses were almost touching. Their eyes met, and they felt themselves drowning. Kirti, who had just changed, looked at them, ran upstairs, got her mobile and hairdryer, and started blowing air. Because of the air, Nisha's hair started falling on her face. Kabir gently tucked it behind her ear, without breaking the eyelock. Kirti clicked their picture.
