Chapter 13

Kirti was in awe as she saw the feelings her elder sister and her best friend had for each other. Nisha and Kabir were still on the floor, lost in each other's eyes. They heard someone clear his throat so stood up. It was Sukku. He looked at the 2 weirdly. Nisha rushed in the kitchen and Kabir went to his room. Sukku looked at Kirti who smiled at him.

Sukku- Yeh sab kya chal raha tha?

Kirti- they love each other year, tumhe kyun itni problem hai?

Sukku- I don't want Nisha's heart to break again..

Kirti- Love isn't about heartbreak... It has some pain, par agar dil tootega nahi, toh koi aur usse jodega kaise? Kabir ne Nishu ke toote dil ko joda hai...Kabir usse bahut pyaar karta hai...

She left from there. Sukku left for his room thinking about Nisha and Kabir.

Kabir went to Kirti's room.

Kabir- Kirti?

Kirti opened the door and let him inside.

Kirti- Tumhe kuch baat karni thi Kaira ke baare mein.

Kabir told her the incident when Sukku tried to talk to Viraj and Kaira was eavesdropping.

Kabir- Kaira ko eavesdrop karne ki kya jaroort thi? Viraj usse sab kuch bata hi deta na?

Kirti- Baat toh sahi hai...

Kabir- I wanted to tell you guys something. Maine socha sabko bata doon, par I don't know how Sukku and Umesh will react.

Kirti- Toh mujhe bata...

He told her something, that shocked her to the core.

Kirti(still shocked)- Kaira aise kaise kar sakti hai??

They heard the door open, and both fell quiet. Nisha entered with Kirti's lunch. Kirti had it and the three had some fun together.

Kabir called his mom, and informed her about his health, not forgetting to mention that Nisha was taking care of him.

Mom- Kabir, are you sure ki Nisha tujhse pyaar nahi karti?

Kabir- (sighing) Of course not mom.

Mom- Aur tum Nisha se?

Kabir kept quiet for some time. This was the question that was in his mind for quite some time. He used to brush off his thought, and decided to do the same today as well.

Kabir- (trying to avoid the topic) Nahi mom, aise kuch...

Mom- (interrupting him) Nahi hai, hum sirf friends hai and all that rubbish. Kabir, main tumhari mom hoon, tumhe tumse behtar samjhati hoon. Don't deny the fact that you love her. Tum pyaar se sirf isi liye darte ho, kyunki tumne mere aur Gautam ke rishte ko break hota dekha hai, but all love stories aren't the same.

Kabir- Mom, she loves Viraj.

Mom- (trying to explain to him) Uski chodo, tum apni socho, kya tum usse pyaar nahi karte? Kya tum uski smile ke liye nahi taraste? Doesn't her pain affect you? Aren't you possessive about her?

Kabir- (avoiding the topic) Mom, I'll talk to you later. Bye.

He hanged up the call, fell on the bed and closed his eyes in frustration. All he could see was Nisha's face. The first meet, how he carried her to the Gangwal Mansion, all their fights, talks, her eyes, her smile, her tears, her anger, her slaps, Nisha's birthday, her fall in his arms, their late night Mumbai tour, beach incidents, the previous day, how she took care of him and the afternoon scene. He never knew but these memories had made a place for themselves in his heart.

Kabir- (opening his eyes) Kya main Nisha se pyaar karta hoon?

He knew he had no answer to his question. Surely he would have said no, but his heart wasn't ready to accept it. "That means I love her." Kabir finally came to the conclusion. His face lit up with a smile.

Kabir- (in mind) Par woh toh Viraj se pyaar karti hai, mujhse nahi. Main uska dost hoon and anyways, I am going to New York in 2 weeks. Pata nahi, yeh baat agar usse pata chali toh woh kaise react karegi?

He picked up the envelope he was trying to hide from Nisha. He smiled sadly as he read the lines from the letter again and again that he had got admission in New York Dance Academy..

*Viraj's Penthouse*

Viraj was in turmoil.

*Flashback*

Viraj was so irritated with Kaira's behaviour that he was driving rashly and he nearly ran the car over a guy; luckily, the guy avoided the accident and fell on the road. Viraj got down and helped him. He was one of the St. Louis's dance team's members, Aryan.

Viraj- (giving him water) Are you ok?

Aryan- Ya, I am fine. Listen Viraj, I have to tell you something important.

Viraj- Pehle doctor ke paas chalte hai... I am really sorry...

Aryan- No, it's ok. Main jo tumse kehna chahata hoon, woh bahut jyaada important hai.

Viraj nodded and helped him to get in the car and drove towards his house.

Aryan- I won't beat around the bush. Viraj, woh dance routine, Nisha ne hume nahi diya tha.

Viraj- (shocked) What?

Aryan- Haan. Sahil (St. Louis's dance team's leader) ne mujhe bataya ki kisine usse woh video WhatsApp pe send kiya tha, aur message kiya tha ki Sahil tumse jhoot bole ki video Nisha ne diya hai...(he showed him a cell phone with the WhatsApp message)

Viraj sat down in shock as he read the mobile number. It was Kaira's mobile number, a second sim card she hardly used. Viraj didn't know how to react. Aryan apologized for the team's behaviour and left and also told him that Kabir too knew about the whole thing, and was the one who made Aryan realise how his lie had broken a relationship. It was his insistence that forced Aryan to tell Viraj the truth.

*Flashback ends*

Viraj- Maine yeh kya kiya? Nisha was innocent all along. Kaira... I never thought she would do something like this... Mujhe Nisha se baat karni hogi par ussse pehle Kaira has to answer my questions. I also have to thank Kabir.

With these thought in mind he called Kaira and invited her to his house.

*After hour*

Kaira- (entering the house) Viraj, all of a sudden tumne aise kyun bulaya?

Viraj- Kaira, accha hua na jo maine Nisha se break up kiya?

Kaira- (trying to incite anger in him) Haan, waise bhi she didn't suit you...

Viraj- (now firm) Right. Because she is very smart and I, I am a fool, a fool to believe some unknown guy and misunderstand Nisha, a fool not to see that you wanted to be with me and you could stoop so low... I should have known why you suggested that we should act as if we are in relationship in college. It was just to make Nisha jealous and get close to me, isn't it?

Kaira- (shocked) Yeh kya bol rahe ho?

Viraj showed the chat on Sahil's phone and her number.

Kaira- (scared) Nahi Viraj, yeh mera number nahi hai...

Viraj- (shouted) Shut up. I hate you Kaira... Tumhari wajah se I lost my love, I lost my friends... all because of you... Get lost from here... Go away...

He fell on the floor and started crying. When Kaira didn't move from there, he angrily got up and pulled a protesting Kaira, and threw her out of the house. Viraj closed the door on her face and went to his room.

Viraj- (in his mind) I know Nisha, kal tum mujhe jaroor maaf karogi.
