Okay, I don't know much about this show but the initial promos showed how Anirudh is going to get married to Bondita and then he would slowly replace the traditional ideas from her mind and even get her educated in the meanwhile and make her a barrister.
So, honestly I never imagined they would introduce any third angle here...
Besides, I read some articles stating that a few points of the show like the ML educating his wife and making her a barrister and some more have been inspired from the life of the social activist, Jyotiba Phule. So, honestly I don't think there was any need for introducing a third angle here.
Now, coming to your question... Well, I have never seen any show where they don't introduce any third angle. And I still don't understand why. Besides, my second question since forever has been that why do they make the third angle as a negative character?? They can obviously keep a third angle as a good friend of the leads, no? Just like SRK's character, Aman from Kal Ho Na Ho?? I know his character was one who was about to die soon but still, he was a good friend of the other two...
I am again giving an example of YRHPK... The younger brother, Kunal had an ex who was just after him for his money and she even left him for his money. Then, they introduced Vatsal Sheth's character, Nishant as Mishti's friend who was there to help her. But, suddenly within a few days, they showed him developing feelings for her and turned him into a negative character within no time!!!
I sometimes feel that they make it a point to turn the third angles into negative because they are afraid that the audience might love the pairing of the lead with him/her...
Now, coming to the show... I completely agree with you. Since the show is dealing on such a serious social stigma that the leads and the supporting cast should have sufficed. Aniruddh trying to educate Bondita and his family creating some hurdles due to their conservative thoughts should have been enough.
It should have been enough to show Bondita reluctant to accept Aniruddh's modern ideas, his family not ready to accept this and the conservative society also not accepting all this should have been more than enough.
Ufff... Kuch zyada hi lamba ho gaya...
