'My pet name is Go Go'- Sparsh Khanchandani

'My pet name is Go Go'- Sparsh Khanchandani

Tellybuzz in talks with Sparsh Khanchandani, who plays Rashi onParvarrish - Kuchh Khattee Kuchh Meethi on Sony TV

Did you prepare for Rashi's role?

I didn't have to prepare for essaying Rashi's character. That's because Sparsh and Rashi have a lot in common. We both hail from a middle class family. She's naughty, clever and plays pranks just like I do.

Rashi is 13 whereas you are 11. Was it a challenge to play a girl two years older than you?

In acting you often play characters who don't exactly match your age. It was in fact very simple to play a girl two years older than me.

How do you bond with your reel mom Rupali Ganguly on the sets?

I have great fun with her on the sets. She calls me Chinti. I call her Pinky. She has an I-pad on which I play games. We talk on a variety of topics. I call her 'mamma'. She tells me what happened in her childhood and I tell her that the same happened in my childhood too. We share lunch. She pampers me with cakes, cookies and ice-cream.

How do you bond with the other kids on the show?

They are like my real brothers and sisters. We all study and play together. Sometimes we fight too. We are like one big family.

Do your friends and teachers call you Sparsh? Or do they address you by your show names Nanhi, Choti and Rashi?

No they call me Sparsh. My pet name is Go Go. My real mom calls me by that name lovingly when she wishes to patau (pamper) me.

How are you performing in school?

I go to school regularly and study on the sets. I am always prepared with my lessons in class. I get in my A's in school. We just had a Hindi test. I got 9 out of 10. My teachers are pleased with my performance.

What do your teachers and friends say of you when you act?

I don't get star treatment in school. My friends and teachers are however always keen to know what will happen in the upcoming episodes.

Do you still want to be an IAS officer when you grow up?

I seriously want to become an IAS officer. I will continue acting till I start finding my studies difficult. I am now in Class VII. Maybe I will act till I am in Class VIII.

Will they replace you if you quit the show because of study pressures?

God knows...

What advice would you give to children who want to be TV actors?

I wish to advise them that studies come first. They have to complete their studies no matter what. Acting is after all not a steady career...sometimes you may get roles, sometimes you may not.

"I am a lot like Raavi"- Aanchal Munjal

"I am a lot like Raavi"- Aanchal Munjal

Tellybuzz in conversation with Aanchal Munjal from Parvarrish - Kuchh Khattee Kuchh Meethi on Sony TV

What message do you have for teenage girls who like Raavi fall ill while trying to lose weight? Size zero is after all in nowadays.

Stay fit. Please don't do crash dieting like Raavi. Remember that we both live to eat and eat to live. Please don't try to be like Raavi. She is trying to be size zero for a guy who has challenged her to do so. Exercise (but don't over-exercise) to lose weight but please don't starve yourself.

For some (as in the case of Raavi) it may be more difficult to lose weight than others. However often people don't understand that and poke fun at those who can't lose weight fast. Weight loss after all differs from body to body. Please comment.

For Raavi it may be tough to lose weight. However it isn't tough for Aanchal to lose weight. People should understand that everyone can't lose weight at the same rate. Each person after all has a different metabolic rate.

Do you think you should lose weight?

I have gained weight after joining this show as I just don't have time to exercise. I don't eat the food served on the sets. My mom packs nutritious lunch for me. My mom gives me everything to eat. However I try to avoid junk food. If I have had junk food, the next day I have plenty of fruits.

What has been your most memorable moment till date while essaying this role?

My most memorable moment while enacting Raavi was when she puts chilly spray on the face of a miscreant who was chasing her. Her parents consoled her with a hug. They knew that their daughter wasn't at fault. My real mom is as understanding as my reel mom. Had I been in Raavi's place I would have reacted in the same way.

In which class are you in now?

I will give my Class X exams this year. I have already appeared for three exams. I will give the next two subjects whenever I am prepared. Right now I have no time. Since my track is on I am shooting 25 to 26 days a month.

It must be tough to balance studies and acting...

No it isn't tough. My passion is to act. So I have to pursue acting. I am however not neglecting my studies in the process. I am lucky that my mom gives me no pressure in anything I do.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

I just can't plan. In fact whenever I plan something the very opposite happens. I would however like to be a part of the entertainment industry in the creative team or as an actress.

Did you prepare to essay Raavi's role?

I didn't have to prepare. I am a lot like Ravi. Whenever I get a scene I think what I would have done if I was in Raavi's place and enact it.

Which historical character would you like to play given the opportunity?

Oh my God! No! I am just into the modern times. Playing a historical character would however be a challenge. Also my Hindi would improve in the process.

Raavee's battle continues in Parvarrish

Purva Desai, TNN | Sep 12, 2012, 01.30PM IST

Raavee's battle continues in Parvarrish
Aanchal Munjal
More family drama is unfolding in DJ's Creative Unit's Parvarrish-Kuchh Khattee Kuchh Meethi on SONY Entertainment Television. Jeet and Pinky are uncomfortable with their daughter's fondness for her dance partner Nitin. (It's only natural for parents to do so!).

In tonight's episode, Nitin, Jeet (Vishal Singh) and Pinky (Rupali Ganguly) will be standing face to face at the door and both Pinky and Jeet will try to avoid him. Just then Rocky enters and they all manage to send Nitin away. Rocky then goes to meet Raavee (Aanchal Munjal). Meanwhile Raashee (Sparsh Khanchandani) is clued in to what's happening in Pinky's house and she tells Rocky (Tapasvi Mehta) the truth.

Rocky then shares it with Ginny (Aashika Bhatia) and Sweety ( Shweta Tiwari) is elated to know that she's right! Sweety will then force Ginni to call her masi Pinky and tell her that they all are coming over for dinner. Pinky is surprised to see that Nanu, Dolly and lovely have also come over for dinner. The entire family unites over dinner and both the sisters patch up.

Further in tomorrow's episode (13th September 2012), Sweety is busy discussing her plans with the family when Nanu reminds everyone how Pinky and Jeet were in love twenty years ago. The fight between the families is finally over and Jeet walks up to Sweety and thanks her and assures her that he and Pinky will sort out this problem. Pinky will put the entire blame on Jeet who consoles her and promises to solve the issue by finding a way out.

When contacted, Rupali Ganguly confirmed the track, "Yes I react to my daughter's special friend like any mother would. I want to be a friend to my children but when the kids come and tell me their secrets, I don't know how to react. I cannot accept Raavee falling in love at the age of fifteen. It's natural for her to do so. I over react to Nitin and jump to conclusions".

So will Ravee get some relief from her parents? "With time, Jeet and Pinky will be different. I'm more modern compared to Sweety who would have locked Raavee if she was her daughter. Even Jeet is on a shaky ground but he's cool and level headed and encourages me to not over react and listen to Raavee and pretend as if nothing has happened".

So in the kids vs. parents' battle, will Raavee win against her parents? Keep reading to find out more!
