Tamashe.in Review: Why Navya failed to rule the chart?
Navya started out with a big promise of entertaining young generation with a fresh concept. To some extent it was showing the signs of freshness among Star Plus shows. As the weeks passed by, Navya has hugely disappointed the audience. Looks like it has opted to fall back on the cheap tricks that has cursed our Indian television. The pace of the story is slower than tortoise. The lead pairs take hours of pause before they open their mouth. If they decide to open somehow, they would be constantly interrupted by other characters owing to the drawing elements. The leads tend to be getting dumber than smarter.
This is unnecessary. It might add dramatic effect when show is at nascent stage but same tricks appears as nothing but way to drag the episode as the show proceeds. A valid question pops among the viewers whether Navya has anything left in the story? Is it going to be a 24 mintues episode where camera man is the hero for a big chunk of time?
If any character that has made some fresh impact is Rama bhabhi with her Hinglish colloquial. Navya was fresh and adorable at start but now she is irritating and annoying. Anant was smart, confident and composed at start, now he is aim less and brainless brat. The male lead crying like a baby definitely puts viewers off. Baba was supposed to be strict yet intellectual. But he emerged as a creepy and arrogant old man. Messages for youth and parents coming out of this serial is Zilch. Navya and Anant are expected to emerge as role models for the viewers of their age.
For past 3 weeks, there is very little progress in the story and very little development in the characters.
This fact is appearing in the TRP chart. Navya did not appear in top 10 for past 1 month even when Navya was riding on high drama. It has failed to maintain the pace, it has failed entertain the mass and it has failed to keep the hype it had created.
Hopefully, tables and charts will be in favor of Navya soon.
