Ankita, I concur with ur views.
When the NB started, (last year) it was indeed a delight to be seeing the stars who come on the shows in a "real" show, where they are not their characters but their true persona.... with their real life spouses, not the on screen jodi....
It was evident that not all of them were dancers, some were, some werent. Some more popular, some not. For eg. Last year, Varun wasnt really as popular as Parmeet Sethi and Apurva Agnihotri (both of Jassi fame) their spouses were equally popular and Rajeshwari was not. But the duo of Varun and Rajeshwari won our hearts with their dance performances, their simplicity, modesty and decorum on stage. The same was with most of the stars last year.
This year, somehow, the whole thing changed and the "real" was also not appearing to be so "real". This seemed equally scripted as the other shows.
In this, those who behaved normally or appeared to have behaved normally are the ones who have really caught on the public fancy. Putting Hiten and Gauri aside for a moment (they have a huge fan following anyway), Hussain and Tina have really won the hearts of many, same goes for Shweta and Manav. They are exuberant on stage, they do laugh and cry as well, but with a quiet dignity.
Unfortunately, for some reason, Shweta Tiwari ended up looking like she just came from the sets of KZK.
I remember the first few episodes of KZK (in fact one of the few episodes I watched) where the character of Prerna was introduced. She comes in a simple dress and she had just redecorated the room of "Anurag Basu" in a purple or some other such colour, which formed the basis of a fight which was the introduction of the lead pair in the show. The simplicity in her caught our eyes, but over the years, as the show progressed, she changed from that person to a completely different person... and somewhere this appears to have rubbed off on her performance in NB too. I just wish they would be more graceful, instead of so much drama and theatrics all the time.
Hope Raja recovers soon.
