Vidyut dragged Avni towards the car, pulling the car door open he shoved her in

"You wait till we get home" Vidyut growled
Avni did her belt up as Vidyut sat in the car and started it

Turning the car around, Avni saw Neil stood outside , drinking his glass of scotch, his eyes stayed on hers until she couldnt see him anymore

Avni blocked out Vidyut's constant complaining through the car journey
Arriving home, she got out and followed him inside

All at once she was shoved into the door and his fist hit her face
"Let another man touch you again and I will kill you"

Avni wished he would keep his word and finish her
"Sorry" she muttered looking down
"Now, get into bed"

Avni looked at her reflection in the mirror as she washed her face, god she looked horrible
She had no idea what she was doing with Neil, like he would ever want her as a friend, not when she was like this

Pulling her dress off, she traced the bruises on her stomach, with a sigh she pulled her pyjamas on and walked out of the bathroom

"You are not getting into my bed like that"
Avni dropped her clothes in the basket and nodded

Walking into the living room she led on the sofa, pulling the sofa throw over herself she closed her eyes

The throw was pulled off of her and she was shoved onto the floor, the corner of the table just missing her eye

Vidyut walked out with the throw as she led on the floor
Her phone buzzed beside her, looking at the message she sighed

Neil: What did you mean earlier?

Avni: Just that my husband is a very jealous man

Neil: I think I would be to if you were my wife

Avni couldn't help but blush, unsure of what to reply she placed her phone down again but picked it back up as she saw another message come through

Neil: Sorry, that was inappropriate I know, so what are you doing?

Avni: I am about to go to sleep, you?

Neil: Wondering how to ask you out for a coffee tomorrow without it sounding like a date?

Avni smiled, maybe for the first time in years had she met someone who could make her smile so easily

Avni: I can meet you at the mall, at say 10am?

Neil smiled at her response
Neil: It's a date

Avni: It's not a date! I'm married!

Neil: Let a guy dream, sweet dreams Avni, I hope you sleep well

Standing up she grabbed a dress and changed, looking at the time she stuffed her shoes on and ran to the car

Driving to the mall she parked, looking at her watch again she huffed , she was late by 10 minutes

A knock on her window made her look up
Neil stood smiling in the rain with an umbrella over his head

Avni stood out of the car, Neil walked towards her
"Better we atleast link arms so we fit under the umbrella"

Avni stuttered as he linked his arm through hers
"I thought you had stood me up"

"No, I just couldn't decide what to wear"
Neil smirked
"Didn't know you wanted to impress me that much"

Avni stuttered again
Neil turned around, standing outside of the umbrella he held it over his head so he could face her

"Do I make you uncomfortable Avni"
Avni shuddered, she wasnt sure if it was from the cold rain or his smoldering gaze

"No, of course not, shall we go inside"
Neil nodded, closing the umbrella, the rain landed on Avni's face, slightly washing away her make up


Avni sat down as Neil brought the drinks over
"So Avni, tell me about yourself"

Avni fiddled with the tissue on the table, Neil placed his hand on hers making her gasp

Avni smiled looking up at him "I'm just not used to this"

"Oh my god its the snowglobe, Neil I cant take this"

Avni looked at the ground, her eyes welled with tears

Neil tipped her chin up with his finger "Im sorry about that"
Avni wiped her tears "Im sorry, im just being stupid"

"No, not at all, have you ever been ice skating before"
Avni looked terrified "Nope, and I dont think I want to"

"Come on, it will be fun"
Tugging her over to the ice skating rink
He picked out some skates for the two of them

"Ready just hold my hand"
Avni shook her head "Easy for you to say" she muttered

Neil pulled her along slowly, her hand grasped his arm tightly

Neil helped her to the barrier, then let go of her

Avni lost her footing, Neil tried to grab her but they skid across the ice
Avni laughed loudly, Neil looked down at her adoringly

Avni stopped "Oh sorry, Vidyut always says I have an awful laugh"

"He's wrong, its beautiful " leaning closer towards her
"Neil, im married"

Neil pulled back , helping her up "I know Avni, theres just something about you, I can't stay away"

Avni turned the key to start the car, "it wont start"
Grabbing her phone she saw it was dead

Getting out she realised she would have to catch a taxi
Neil drove up by her "Need a lift"

"Yeah, actually my car broke down"
Avni pulled the car door open and sat inside

"Do you want the address"
Neil passed her his sat nav to type it in

Driving down to her house, he parked
Avni's eyes widened as she saw Vidyut's car, he was home early

Getting out quickly she thanked him
"Is he in "
Avni nodded
"Great i'll come say hi"

"Avni, stop worrying"
She smiled softly back at him and unlocked the door

"Avni where the f**k"
Stopping he looked at Neil

"Neil, what are you doing here"
"I was out for some work, Avni's car broke down, I offered to take her home"

Vidyut's gaze fell on Avni "Where did you go"
"The mall"
Vidyut laughed turning to Neil "She never stops spending my money"

A flush of anger went through Neil but he controlled it
Avni pushed past them "Ill go get dinner"

Neil and Vidyut sat down on the sofa as Avni cooked, putting her phone on charge she yawned

When the dinner was made she served it to them
Neil looked up "Why aren't you eating"

"Oh uh, im not hungry"
Neil pulled the chair back
"Please"

Avni put some on a plate and sat down, trying to avoid Vidyut's glare
Vidyut shoved the plate forward "This is disgusting, dont eat it to be nice Neil"

Neil glared up at him, stopping Avni who tried to pull the plate back
"I actually really like it, Avni can I have some more"

Vidyut's jaw clenched, walking out the house he slammed the door
"Thanks, you dont need to act anymore he's gone"

"No, I want more, why do you let him treat you that way"
Avni stood up "You wouldn't understand "

Neil stood up, following her to the kitchen "If he was the one that gave you thag bruise, i'll kill him with my own hands"

Neil pulled her arm, turning her around to face him and backing her into the corner

"Hes just tired, this isnt any of your business"

Letting go of her arms , he rested his hands on the side
"Dont you dare make excuses, look me in the eye and tell me he doesnt hurt you"

So she did, she lied to him
She hated herself for it

Slamming his fist on the side he stormed off

Avni huffed and ran after him
"Neil, Neil wait"
Her hand went to the door frame, he slammed the door

Her scream stopped him, turning he pulles the door back open
"Avni, Avni"
Grabbing her wrist he sat her down

"I have a first aid box in my car"
Running out he grabbed it and brought it back in

She pulled her hand back "I'm okay "
He pulled her hand back gently, cleaning it he bandaged it "They're not broken, thank god, Avni , I am so sorry, I didn't see you there"

Avni was in shock "You're sorry? Wait, you didnt do it on purpose"
"No, why would I"

Pausing he raised her chin
"Oh for gods sake dont look at me like that"

"Like what" she whispered
"In a way that makes me want to kiss you"

Pressing his lips onto hers, his hand wrapped in her hair, pulling her closer

Pulling back, he caught his breath "Shit, Avni i'm so sorry"

Touching her lips she looked back at him
"Get out, Get out" she shouted

Neil couldn't say anything, standing up he walked away as Avni burst out in tears
