Haan, I see your point, but to me, this isn't karma. Yes, karma is torturous but it's also about getting the result of your own actions. In this situation, karma would be if Bani fell in love with Veer and he decided (in his own mind) that nah, I've had enough and I'm moving on. If he had the intention of giving up on her, giving her a taste of that same medicine, to my mind, that would be karma. This is basically like some imposter wearing Veer's face punishing her for a crime against the guy he's posing as. Makes no sense. That's what gets me.
Eh...karma is a tricky bitch man!! I don't think any of us can decide what karma would give back to bani for her behaviour towards veer.
Because except for veer, no one can say what he felt or went through when bani spilled her venom. So thinking about karma is a moot point in my opinion.
Yes, I get your point that perhaps Bani needed to feel the pain that Veer felt at her actions towards him, and that the irony is it happens now when she's fully in love with him. But we've already had that before with the Chandni track, and moreover, here Veer's treatment of Bani comes because some random dude waved a magic wand and made him forget everything that defined his character (i.e. his love for and obsession with Bani/Naageshwari). So it doesn't feel like karma so much as emotional manipulation. Yeah, totally calling out the shitty writing here with you.
I also understand that having seen both sides, you feel more for Veer because of how she treated him. But that's the point - we saw both sides. In their early interactions Veer took pains to keep referring to himself as the villain - no wonder she took him at face value. It took Bani a long time to see what we saw, call it due to her own blind hatred, or the manipulations of everyone around her, or a lack of support from anyone who could actually give her answers. Whatever the reasons.
This, this is exactly my point. We all felt that bani was stupid a lot of times and we all kinda cursed her when she trusted jay or was rude to veeranshu. But agar hum abni ki jagah hote, we would've also taken somewhat similar decisions.
Let's not forget her very 1st impression of veeranshu was really bad. I mean she literally rescued girls from trafficking and all that stuff was directly linked to veer. And then when she remembered her past, his image literally took a nosedive.
We as audience have been given 3rd perspective, a peek into the lives of the characters. So hum bahut asaani se judge krlete hai. Fir vo villain ho ya hero/heroine.
And I guess for me, what I saw was that during all this, Veer gave Bani the understanding that a lot of people in the audience didn't. He gave her his patience, his love, his time. Not for one second did he express a desire to get back at her for what she said or did. So the writers doing this now feels (to me) cruel, rather than poetic justice. Esp. because we've already seen this play out once already.
Veer's character before getting all butchered up was shown as a very logical one. As a smart man he realised that in the beginning itself ki bani ki uske baare main rai bahut kharab hai. First he has to improve his image only then he can think of getting her love. And that's what he did. Payback ka sawaal kind of tab hota jab bani ki rai veeranshu ke baare mai acchi hoti but then itna raita phelta hi kaha!!!
I do get that from your POV, you see this as something that was due to Bani as a result of her actions. And perhaps that's why you can't relate to her misery now. I'm not disagreeing with that opinion necessarily, it's yours to have and I'm sure others share it also. Personally I think this is the wrong time, wrong situation and wrong way for the writers to throw karmic retribution at Bani. Veer kare toh thik bhi hai, par Veer ko puppet bana kar koi aur uss se karwai...yeh galat lagta hai mujhko 😒
