I absolutely LOVE this fanfic!!!!! It's been my joy for the past several weeks reading this. You write so well and have such amazing talent! Thank you so much for taking such strong characters like Veer and Bani, and Aakesh and Naageshwari, and giving them the proper strong sensical, powerful, and strong storyline that you have given them. Such mein. Naagin 5 writers could not even do what you can do. Abh yeh hai Magic, asli Magic! 😉

I'm so addicted to this story and just can't get enough! I love all of the characters including all of the side characters. I'm so glad that Jay and Markaat are now dead. It's so fun to see the story progressing more and seeing more villains like Nikhil and who knows who else in the future. Honestly this fanfic can keep going on and I'll keep reading it. I don't even need the makers version of Naagin 5. Your story is way more epic!

I have to say that I absolutely love the characters of Sam and Vanshika and of how you've portrayed them. I really want to see their chemistry build, a slow burn romance the way Veer and Bani's has been. Sam and Vanshika have history, there's so much potential here. I want to see their journey, and of Vanshika slowly getting over her grudges, and Sam's undying love for her, and finally her falling for him (or accepting she's fallen for him since she does love him inside). Please do show their chemistry and progression too. I love that he came into her room drunk at night. It ended at such a great part!!! Ahhhhhhhh the potentials!!!!!! I feel like creating one shots on Sam and Vanshika and they are not even original Naagin 5 characters but the way you have crafted them make them seem so real to me. Truly you have such talent!!!!! 👏👏

Aur Vani ka kya bataun? Woh toh hai hi EPIC! I love the way you have progressed their storyline and each and every Vani romance scene you write touches my heart and fulfills my desires of wishing to see more romance between them. I love how they are each other's full support, how both of them and especially Bani has come into their full power. I love how Veer understands her so much, and trusts her power and fight skills. The only reason he was holding her back is because he noticed the thing about her emotions, her trauma, and he made sure he was there to help heal her before she fought Shakura herself. Damn all of that was just SO AMAZING!!!!! ❤️

Thank you so much for taking the time to write all this, for your creativity, and the absolute joy you are bringing to Vani fans! I cannot be grateful enough!!

So so eagerly waiting more updates ❤️

Chapter 82

Veer was still sleeping. The sleeve was pulled up. Bani’s eyes fell on the rune on his arm. Bani was surprised. The death rune. Bani had heard that death rune made so many people crazy. Her heart did a flip at that.

“Veeranshu…” Bani tried to wake him up but he was out. Deep in sleep with being so drunk. Worry poured into Bani. She looked carefully at the rune. Bani had known six people who had the death rune. Four of them were witches who often did black magic. One of them was a naag. The last one was Markaat. All of them had gone crazy and became a bloodthirsty monster. Veer himself was violent. Bani knew his capability of violence went a bit further from her own. She had seen him covered in blood. He had dealt with a whole army of naag naagins that Jay had sent for them while being human. He had fought Markaat.

“Nahi. I can’t lose you, Veer. Please.” Bani almost worried. Her voice was squeaky and worried. Bani had to find a way to get free of the rune.

Bani wrapped her arms around Veer and slept with her head on his chest. As the morning came, Bani got up. She came out of the room and saw Sam walking down the stairs. Her eyes went wide in shock as she saw him shirtless.

“Sam!!!” Bani ran at him.

“Aaahhh” Sam groaned holding his head.

“Idiot, yeh Singhania Mansion nahi hai. Shirt pehno.”

That’s when Sam realized he wasn’t wearing a shirt. He turned around and crashed into Mayank. Bani winced. Sam walked into the one person he wasn’t supposed to cross at the moment. Mayank looked at him.

“Tum….” He exclaimed.

“Hi…” Sam greeted with a smile. He scratched the back of his head. Vanshika, panicking, came out of her room. The towel wrapped around her hair. She winced seeing Sam and Mayank standing before each other.

“Tum yahan kaise aaye?” Mayank started walking ahead towards Sam. Sam walked back.

“Ummm…. Pairon se chal ke.” Sam tried to be smart.

“Mere saath chalaki mat karo.” Mayank kept walking ahead and Sam kept moving back.

“To be honest, I don’t remember much from last night. All I remember is waking up in..” He was about to point at Vanshika’s room but then acted as if he was stretching his and running through his hair. He thought for a moment. A grin passed his face. "Ooohh... I remember some more stuff."

“Yahan kya kar rahe ho?”

“Woh…”

“Kyu aaye ho?”

“That’s an odd question?”

“Apne ghar pe bhi aise bina shirt ke ghumte ho?”

“Nahi… woh aaj…”

“Why do you have a Viper tattoo?”

Sam stopped moving back and faced Mayank. Both of them standing against each other.

"Pehle bata dete ki that I have to show up for interrogation, Daddy Interpol. I would've shown up in a tie and suit. I know the drill. 'Anything you say will be held against you'. Toh main apne lawyer ke bina koi bhi statement nahi dene wala. Aur aap mujhe aise bina kisi strong reason ke interrogation ke liye nahi bula sakte. Mere khilaaf order leke aayie and then demand answers from me."

“Tum agar mere ghar mein khade ho toh mujhe jawaab doge.”

“Oh, sorry. I was thinking this was called Kashyap Manor.”

“Don’t be smart with me. Yahan aake phir se Vanshika ko kidnap karoge?”

“Kidnap??!!” Sam laughed. “Point 1, Vanshika bacchi nahi hai. She’s 25 years old. So isn’t much of ‘kid’napping. Point 2, maine uske koi kidnap nahi kiya hai. Woh khud mere saath aayi thi.” He pointed two fingers at him.

“Tum mujhe mat batao meri beti ke baare mein.”

“Good. Kyuki jitna aap use jaante hai usse zyaada main jaanta hai.”

“Sam, just shut up.” Bani slowly pulled Sam behind her.

“Baat yeh hai ki kal raat ko yeh sabh party mein the. I told you about Veeranshu’s coronation. Toh thodi si zyaada peeli thi. Bas nashi mein Veeranshu yahan chala aaya. Uske peeche uska bhai bhi aa gaya.”

“Bhai…” Sam quickly turned around to find Meera and Tapish. After a while, he found them near the kitchen. The two were sleeping. “Tapish bhai…”

“Aaaahh…” Tapish groaned. He blinked a few times to regain some consciousness. Meera woke up. She almost jumped away when she realized she was sleeping on Tapish’s chest.

“Shit… hum kahan hai?” Tapish asked.

“Tapish bhai?” Bani asked.

“Hum naaglok mein hai?” Tapish asked her.

“Haan. Tum, Veer aur Sam yahan chale aaye. Saath mein mujhe bhi kheech laaye.” Meera added.

“Sorry…” Tapish apologized. He got up.

“Tum sabh aaye kaise? Maine kisi ko andar aate nahi dekha.” Mayank crossed his arms.

“Nahi. They were already here by the time we woke up.” Rishi pointed out. They were eating their breakfast. “Hum aaye the breakfast khaane toh in dono ko yahan dekha.”

“Toh uthaya kyu nahi?” Meera asked.

“You two looked really comfortable. Perfectly cuddled up. Aur couples ko aise disturb nahi karte hum log.”

“Mayank, aise hi interrogation lene ka irada hai toh Vanshika ko bhi bula lete hai. Woh bhi dekh legi Samrat ko.” Amar commented while sitting on the dining table for breakfast. Mayank threw Amar a look. Aishwarya chuckled and threw Sam his shirt. Sam quickly wore the shirt.

“Kuch kha lo.” She told the boys and Meera to sit down. The boys sat at the dining table. Mayank kept his eyes on Sam. A moment later Vanshika made her entry. Sam offered her a seat next to him. She sat down. She silently ate her breakfast. The silence surprised Amar. Vanshika was a chatter box.

"Achanak se shaanti kyu hai?" Amar asked her.

"Kuch nahi. Aise hi." Vanshika looked at her sandwich.

"I thought your snake skin was green. Then why are your cheeks red?" Veer asked. Vanshika stuffed a sandwich in his mouth.

"Apna muh mein khaana thuso. Bakwaas mat karo." She hissed.

Everyone except Vanshika and Mayank laughed. Sam made Vanshika eat one of the apple pieces that were put on a tray. She blushed a shade darker.

The hangover was a bit harsh. Bani gave him some juice.

“How are you feeling?” Bani asked. She wanted to talk to him about the rune. She was worried.

“Bani, Mahashivratri bhi aa rahi hai. Uski tayyar bhi karni. We have just 12 days. Two weeks.” Shreya told her when the two showed up at the living room.

“Haan, dadi. Main soch rahi thi ki pooja ke liye sabh tayyari karwa dun. Kaafi cheezein hai.” Bani agreed.

“Sabse pehle woh darwaza lagwana hai. You broke it down.” Veer pointed out.

“Haan.” Bani nodded. Mahashivratri was the biggest festival for naag naagin. It was also the day they had received the boon to have a human form. Bani sighed. “Main aur Bela soch rahe the ki hum Naag Mandir mein pooja kare. Pehle toh Mandir ki safai karani hai. Although it is usually clean, main specifically chahti hun ki sabh perfect lage.”

“So, tum kaafi busy hone wali ho.” Veer pointed out.

“Haan. It is always a busy time in Naaglok.”

“Also, this time is going to be special. Adi-Naagin is present for Mahashivratri proceedings.” Shreya pointed out.

“It has to be wonderful.” Mayank added.

“I’m happier about our dear Bani being with us than Adi-Naagin being with us.” Amar commented. Bani smiled at him.

“You do know you’re my favourite na?” Bani pointed out. He smiled.

“Of course, I know I’m your favourite.” He agreed.

After breakfast, Veer had disappeared with Rishi and Kartik. Bani wanted to talk to him about the rune but wasn’t being able to speak to him. Every time she tried to start the topic, someone or the other disturbed them. Sometimes it was Shreya and Bela to talk about Mahashivratri preparations. A few other times, it would be Sapera baba and Panditayin to speak about preparations at the Naag Mandir. Bani had to go there and make arrangements.

Other times, Veer would be busy with Rishi and Kartik about something. Veer knew that the boys knew quite a bit about the death rune.

By the evening, they returned to Cheel Mansion. Cheel Mansion was already decorated for a party. Balwant was throwing a party to Veer.

“Tum dono ready hoke aa jaao.” Balwant told them.

“Kal hi toh party ki thi aap sabh ne.” Bani pointed out. She just wanted to talk to Veer about the rune.

“Gharwali, life is a party every day.” Veer commented with a grin. He dragged her upstairs and passed her a saree. “Pehen lo.”

Veer picked out his clothes. He pushed her inside the bathroom.

“Ek toh kabse time nikalne ki koshish kar rahi hun tumse baat karne ko aur tum taal rahe ho.” Bani complained. Nonetheless, Bani changed into the saree. A Russian blue sleeveless blouse with silver embroidery. Russian blue saree with silver design at the bottom. She walked out to see jewellery picked out. Bani wore them. She dressed herself and walked down. She had to talk to Veer about the rune today. She can’t stall it.

She looked around for Veer. He was around Mehek, Dehek, Ponky, Daksh and a few other friends of Ponky. They were passing him drinks.

She saw Sam come out of his room. He seemed gloomy. Not much in a mood for a party. She walked to him.

“Tum kuch ukhde ukhde se lag rahe ho.” Bani inquired.

“Bhabhi, for some reason, I’m getting some negative vibes. You know I feel something is going to go wrong. Thode waqt pehle, I had managed to use my powers to its height and actually see things coming. Par now, I’m back to just having that feeling. I can’t see what is going to happen. Kuch toh bura hone wala hai.”

“Tum mujhe aur bhi dara rahe ho, Sam.”

“I presume you know about the death rune.”

“Tumhe pata hai?”

“Haan.”

“Sam, hume ise hatana hi padega Veeranshu se. Veeranshu ne kuch kaha tumse iss baare mein?”

“I’m not entirely sure what conversation happened between the aghori and Veer bhai but Veer bhai had done Markaat’s final rites.”

“What?!” Bani was surprised. She wasn’t expecting that.

“Haan. I saw Veer bhai with Markaat’s body. So, Tapish bhai and I went to shamshaan. Humne khud chita sajayi thi. Veer bhai ne chita jalayi and finished the final rites.”

“Sam. Sach kahun toh darr lag raha hai. Death rune has a terrible history. Kitne hi log use paane ke baad mental unstable ho gaye hai. Veeranshu toh khud hi sanki hai.”

“I don’t doubt Veer bhai, Bhabhi. Mujhe pura yakeen hai ki Veer bhai handle kar lenge. Sirf itna hope kar raha hun ki Veer bhai ka koi paara na chadhaye kyuki uske baad Death rune unhe control karega.”

“Main kabse Veeranshu se iss baare mein baat karne ki koshish kar rahi hun but kuch na kuch beech mein aa hi jata hai.”

“Bhabhi, jo bhi hai. We’ll all get through it together. Kyuki mujhe feel ho raha that something is going to happen. It isn’t anything good. So, we have to brace ourself for the trouble.”

“Exactly when I presume that things will end up fine, we’re into some new mess.”

“Reminds me of what the Buddhists monks used to say. ‘Maya isn’t illusion of what isn’t true. Maya is in not being able to pull yourself above all the pain and worries. Maya is in drowning yourself in the world and not listening to your own soul.’ Kaafi philosophical hote hai. Itne waqt ke baad itna samajhne laga hun ki jab tumhare se sabh nikal raha ho toh kisi ka haath pakad ke chalna chahiye.”

Bani smiled at Sam. She always it was the easiest to confess things to him.

“Honestly kahun toh accha lagta hai to know I’m not alone.”

“Bhabhi, family means that we expect the other to help us. To stand by us.”

Bani and Sam walked down together. Veer turned around and saw her. He smiled. He walked up to her.

“Kya baat hai. Aaj lagta hai katl karne ka irada hai.” Veer flirted with her. Bani almost tripped but Veer held her. He stared at her. She stared into his eyes. “Bas zindagi bhar aise hi tumhe apne bahon mein rakhun.”

“Veer bhai ka romance khatam hi nahi hota.” Ponky teased. All the boys there laughed.

“Kitne romantic hai. Bani bohot lucky hai.” Mehek added.

“Wahi toh warna shaadi ke baad couples kitne boring ho jaate hai.” Dehek agreed.

“Shaadi dur ki baad hai. Once you cross that one-year relationship mark, relationship mein hi ladke boring ho jaate hai.” Vanshika pointed out.

“Exactly…” Mehek Dehek agreed.

“Kyuki tumne kabhi sahi aashiq ko chuna hi nahi hai.” Sam answered. Vanshika tried not to react to that flirt.

“Tum sirf baatein banate ho. Mujhe acche se pata tum kya ho.”

“Wahin toh baat hai. Tumhe pata hai main kya hun, mujhe pata hai tum kya ho.”

“Veeranshu, mujhe tumse kuch baat karna hai.” Bani told him.

“Haan, bolo sweetheart.”

Bani was about to start about the rune when the music was played loudly. Veer turned around and saw Ponky and Daksh already dancing. He smiled at his brothers.

“Veeranshu…” Bani held his hand to get his attention.

“Zor se bolo. Sunai nahi de raha.”

“Maine subeh tumhare haath pe -” Bani was cut off when Ponky and Daksh pulled Veer to the stage with them. They started dancing. Sam tried to help Bani but the brothers pulled him to dance too. Four of them were dancing on the stage.

After a few moments of dancing, Sam pushed Veer to speak Bani. Veer walked up to Bani.

“Kya baat hai? You seem tense.” Veer asked.

“Veeranshu, mujhe uss -”

The conversation was interrupted by a scent that was overwhelming. The whole place smelled like Spring. The two looked at the door. The curtains fluttered. Veer looked confused. He wasn’t doing that then why was the air being so breezy?

“What the hell?” He wondered. They saw a man enter the party. Top to bottom dressed in white. Even his shoes were white.

Bani noticed how he was hypnotizing everyone at the party. She knew hypnotism the best. Everyone stopped and looked at him. He winked at Mehek in the way and she just kept staring at him. He clicked his fingers and everyone at the party was hypnotized. The only ones who seemed to had any sense of control over themselves were Bani, Veer and Sam. Even Vanshika was wrapped in his hypnotism.

“Kya wahi boring gaane baja rahe ho?” The man asked them.

“Yeh ha ikon jo humari party mein aake hume bol raha hai?” Veer asked.

“Veeranshu, ruko. Woh sabko hypnotize kar raha hai.” Bani warned him.

“Haan. Abhi kuch accha bajata hun.” Ponky went to the DJ table. Bani and Veer stood together, watching him. The man’s eyes fell on Veer. He clicked his fingers to try and control Veer. Bani quickly had Veer face her. She couldn’t have Veer focus on the man. She knew what distracted him the best.

Bani started dancing with Veer.

“Kuch bhi ho, tum uske plan mein mat phasna.” Bani told Veer as they danced. He twirled around. Under the influence of hypnotism, Vanshika pushed away Sam.

“Excuse me? Yeh kya kar rahe ho. Tum khud ko samajhte kya ho?” Vanshika looked disgusted. Sam looked confused. “Tum jaise cheelon ke saath main khud ko kabhi associate nahi karti. Don’t touch me aur mujhse dur hi raho tum.”

“Wow. Yeh kya naya drama hai? Itna attitude dikhane ki zaroorat nahi hai. I was just asking you for a dance.” Sam answered. He was confused. Why was she speaking like that?

“Sam, yeh white dude sabko control kar raha hai. She’s under his hypnotism.” Veer told Sam while danced around with Bani.

“What?” Sam was confused.

“Bas tum usse dur raho.” Bani warned him. She would need as many people as she could gather. As of now she only seemed to have Veer and Sam.

The music changed. They stopped dancing. The man started dancing. He sang to the tune. His eyes on Bani. He pointed to her.

Aasman ko chodke aaya Main tere jashan mein Aatisho sa main farishta Aag mere tashan mein Meri duniya hai aflatoon Mere sang tu machale dhoom

He danced. He walked towards Veer and Bani. Pushing himself between them and pushing Veer away from Bani. He walked closer to Bani. He took Bani’s hand and danced with her. He twirled her.

Mere naach se saari kaaynat hil jaaye Mere khoon se sabh Kuch bura mit jaaye Meri dosti naagon se hai Mujhe darr ghabraye Meri roshni suraj si hai Mujhmein andhera na chaaye

Veer clenched his fists. Who the hell was this man? How did he dare to dance with Bani? Veer walked up to the man. The man turned around to face Veer. He tried to hypnotize Veer but it didn’t work. He was surprised.

Mere saath barse bijliya Main khud mein machalne ko Koi khel na khel mujhse Aaya khel badlne ko

He pushed Veer away and went on dancing. This time he was dancing around Veer and Bani. Majorly looking at Bani. Veer held Bani’s hand. Bani held it tightly.

Aasman ko chodke aaya Main tere jashan mein Aatisho sa main farishta Aag mere tashan mein Meri duniya hai aflatoon Mere sang tu machale dhoom

“Who the hell are you?” Bani asked him.

“Farishta. Abhi toh pure gaane mein gaa raha tha.” Veer answered giving Bani an incredulous look. Bani glared at him.

“Khaas ho tum. Matlab kuch toh baat hai ki mera jaadu tum par kaam nahi kar raha…” Farishta laughed at Veer.

“Dekho. Koi nayi baat batao. I already know I’m special. Bachpan se tha.” Veer retorted.

“Tum yahan kyu aaye ho?” Sam demanded.

“Main naagon ka shubh chintak hun. Isiliye yahan Adi-Naagin ke liye aaya hun.” Farishta answered.

“Naagon ke well-wisher ho toh Naaglok jaao. Yeh Cheel Mansion hai.” Veer answered.

“Adi-Naagin ki madad ke liye aaya hun.”

“Thank you for your consideration but Bani ke saath main hun.”

“Tum ho isiliye toh mujhe aana pada. Adi-Naagin ko cheelon ke beech chodke nahi jaa sakta.”

“Listen, tum pata nahi kya sunke aaye ho but yeh sabh mere gharwale hai. Mujhe yahan koi khatra nahi hai.” Bani corrected the farishta.

Farishta sighed. “Mujhe keh hi rahe the log ki koi bohot takatwar jaadu kar diya hai iss cheel ne tum pe. Par pata nahi tha ki woh itna shaktishaali hoga.”

Veer pushed Bani behind him and faced the Farishta head-on.

“I don’t give a damn ki tum farishte ho ya rakshas. Bani meri patni hai aur mere saath hi rahegi. Especially after she’s made it clear that she’s damn well comfortable here.”

Farista grabbed Veer’s throat. Veer’s eyes turned golden and Veer raised his fist to punch him but Bani pushed them away from each other.

“Veeranshu, please calm down. Ladai karne ki zaroorat nahi hai.” Bani pushed the two men away from each other.

“Adi-Naagin, tum bhul rahi ho ki pure Naagvansh ki zimmedari hai tum par. Aur yahan tum iss cheel ke saath party kar rahi ho.” Farishta rebuked Bani.

“Tumhe batane ki zaroorat nahi ki Bani ko kya karna hai aur kya nahi. She’s well-informed ki use kya karna hai.” Veer retorted. “Aur Bani se baat karne se pehle ek baat yaad karlo. Bani meri patni. Might as well remember ki tameez kya hoti hai warna apni tarah se samjha sakta hun.”

Farishta laughed.

“Tum bohot over-confident ho apne aap ko leke.” Farishta commented.

“Mera over-confidence nahi mera guroor hai.”

“Isi guroor ko todne aaya hun. Tumhe khatam karke hi chodunga.”

“Veeranshu ko kuch bhi kiya toh mujhse bura koi nahi hoga.” Bani warned. She faced him. Her look was fierce.

“Uff… pyaar mein kya deewani bani ho yeh samajh hi nahi aa raha ki yeh cheel hai.”

“Mujhe nahi pata tumhe kya problem hai. Aur jo mere aur Veeranshu ke beech hai woh hum dono ke beech hai. Hum dono pati patni hai, I don’t find myself answerable to you ki hum dono ka relationship kya hai.”

“Tum Adi-Naagin ho.”

Chapter 83

“Excuse me, but tum ho kon yeh decide karne wale ki kya sahi hai aur kya galat?” Sam asked as the Farishta went on and on about how Bani and Veer being together was wrong. Bani should be killing off Veer.

“Galat toh isi baat se prove ho jaati hai ki uske haath pe mrityu ka chin hai.” Farishta commented.

“I wasn’t aware that I need to take a moral certificate from you.” Veer answered with an attitude. “Ya toh tum samjhte nahi ho ya phir behre ho. Hoge tum farishte yaa koi para I don’t give a damn. Yeh mera ghar hai. Mere ghar mein hi aake mujhe dhamkane ki himmat mat karo.”

Air fluttered in. It was breezy. Veer noticed that the Farishta did it. Veer grinned. The air went chaotic and started brewing a storm around. Breaking several things in the living room. A few things even started to fly around. Violently flowing air. Farishta looked at that in surprise. As an angel he only had the power to turn air into a breeze, spring-like air. Veer had downright started off a storm. While everyone was finding it difficult to stand their ground, Veer stood like the storm was simply a breeze to him.

“Jab takat hawa se tinka hilane ki ho toh toofan ke saamne nahi aana chahiye.” Veer threatened. Veer clicked his finger and the storm burst out so powerfully that it knocked down everyone except the Singhanias, Meera, Vanshika and Mehek Dehek. Farishta looked surprised.

“Tumhe toh main sabak sikha ke rahunga.” Farishta threatened. Farishta punched Veer. Veer fell against the wall. Veer’s eyes turned golden. He pulled out his wings and flew at Farishta. Farishta ducked Veer’s attacks and grabbed Veer’s wing. He ripped off the feathers he could grasp.

Five feathers were ripped off. While Veer was burning with pain of his feathers being ripped off. Farishta grabbed his throat. He stabbed Veer in his shoulder. He broke the bone which joined the wing and shoulder. “Aaaahhhh….” Veer’s roared rang through the place. Farishta had fractured the wing bone. He didn’t have the strength to rip out the wings and hence fractured them.

Sam punched him in the face and kicked him. Farishta fell away. Sam looked murderous. He viciously attacked Farishta. Sam was fast. It was like a vicious eagle attacking him. The talons were sharper than daggers. It cut open Farishta’s chest. Sam kicked him in the gut. He jumped up in the air and dived down at Farishta. He kicked him hard that the Farishta was kicked off. He crashed against a window and fell out. Sam broke the last few pieces of glass and went to face Sam.

Farishta used his magic and threw away Sam. Sam fell far off against the wall and broke a few ribs.

“Bas….” Bani hissed angrily. Her brown eyes had turned into her Naagin’s eyes. She was angry. Rage outpouring into her aura.

The pain that Veer was in had knocked him out. The joint was dislocated. Farishta was already warned by a few naags and Nikhil that Bani would retaliate in full force if he attacked Veer. Farishta dodged Bani’s attacked and reached Veer. He grabbed Veer and disappeared.

“Veeranshu….” Bani shouted loudly. The way she shouted so loudly; broke the hypnotism everyone was under. Bani’s fists were clenched. Balwant quickly had the other guests sent away. Only Sharmas, Vanshika and Singhanias were there.

Ritu got a bit scared seeing Bani’s red eyes with slits. Bani topped the entire sofa angrily.

“Bani, shaant ho jaa.” Meera tried to calm her down. Sam was knocked out. When his heart rate seemed to go down, Vanshika quickly called Aishwarya.

“Bani, hume Sam ko hospital le jaana padega. Mom said woh seedha hospital hi aa rahi hai.”

“Pehle Sam ko hospital le chalte hai.” Balwant agreed. They rushed Sam to the hospital Aishwarya was working in. Aishwarya quickly showed up and took up the case.

“Tum sabh yahin ruko.” She told them and walked inside the ICU.

“Woh Veeranshu ko kahin leke chala gaya hai. Daddyji, hume Veeranshu ko dhundhna hai. Uski halat khud hi kharab hai. I think uske wing ko injure kiya hai.” Bani told Balwant.

“Ek kaam karte hai. Bani, Dad, Daksh, tum teeno Veer ko dhundhne jaao. Main, Chachu, Ponky aur Vanshika yahan rukte hai.” Tapish told Singhanias and Vanshika. He turned to Sharmas. “Aunty, aap sabh ghar jaao.”

“Haan. Haan…” Ritu agreed, a bit scared with all the supernatural elements at play.

“Main bhi yahin rukti hun, maa. Aap aur Mehek Dehek ghar chale jaao. Papa ko keh dena ki main yahan ruki hun.” Meera told her mother.

“Meera, tu kya karegi yahan? Yeh sabh Cheel-Naagin ke beech ka hai. Hum sirf insaan hai. Kya karenge. Hum par mushkil gir gayi toh?” Ritu tried to convince Meera.

“Maa, main keh rahi hun na. Aap jaao. Main kuch kar paau ya nahi woh baat important nahi hai. Mushkil waqt mein saath toh de hi sakti hun.” Meera explained.

“Acha theek hai. Abh kya samjhau tujhe bhi.” Ritu left with Mehek Dehek. Meera put her hand on Tapish’s shoulder.

“Sam theek ho jaayega, Tapish. Kuch nahi hoga use.” Meera assured. She turned to Bani, Balwan,t and Daksh. They were torn between wanting to go find Veer and staying for Sam. “Main hun yahan, Bani. Tu jaa. Tum sabh jaake Veer ko dhundho.” She told Bani.

“Uncle, waise bhi Sam khud ko bohot cheezon ke liye zimmedar manta hai. Aap Sam ki chinta ke wajah se Veer ko dhundhne nahi gaye toh use lagega ki uski wajah se Veer ko kuch ho gaya.” Meera tried to convince Balwant to go.

“Bhaisaab, Meera sahi keh rahi. Humare do bete mushkil mein. Veer ko dhudhna utna hi zaroori hai jitna Sam ke liye yahan rukna zaroori hai.” Pawan agreed. “Aap Daksh aur Bani ko leke jaaiye.”

Balwant put a hand on Pawan’s shoulder. Last time he had felt so worried was when Sam had ran away from home.

“Chalo…” Daksh said. They walked out of the hospital.

“Point yeh hai ki Veer ko kahan dhundhenge? Hume idea hi nahi hai ki use kahan le gaya hoga.” Balwant questioned. Bani ran her hand hands through her hair. Worry overflowed her. She tried to take a few deep breaths.

“Aisi konsi jagah hai jahan itni shakti ho sakti hai ki Veeranshu ko bandh ke rakh sake. Veeranshu koi aam cheel nahi hai. Cheel gufa mein bhi aisi zanjeerein nahi hai jo Veer ko kaabu kar sake.”

“Aise toh sirf do hi jagah hai jahan aisi zanjeere milengi. Ek Banjar pahadi mein jahan Shakura ko pehle rakha tha aur dusra island ke volcano mein jahan Markaat ko rakha tha.” Daksh suggested.

“Island pe hi ho sakta hai. Banjar pahadi pe nahi lagta mujhe. Uss zanjeer ko main tod sakti hun. I don’t think itna risk lega Veer ko wajah le jaane ki jahan main jaa sakti hun. Bach sirf Volcano.”

They flew up to the island. They tried to fly towards the volcano but it was heating up. They had to land away.

“Bohot zyaada heat hai, Bhabhi. We can’t fly there without burning our wings. Once the wings burn, we can’t get them back. Feathers toh phir bhi wapas grow kar sakte hai but can’t grow back wings.” Daksh said.

Bani herself couldn’t bear the heat. Her scales had burnt up a bit with that amount of heat itself. She winced at the burn. But she wasn’t going to give. She was going to climb all the way up if that is what it took to save Veer. Scales be damned. She could heal herself. Cheels didn’t have that high power of cell regeneration but Naag naagins did. They could heal themselves quickly. Unless they were bitten by Bani whose point degenerates the gene that allows quick healing and regeneration. Their healing ability also had a limitation. Healing takes time depending on the intensity of injury. Major organs take more time to heal. That’s how Veer counters their quick healing. He attacks several vital organs together. By the time they finish healing, the blood loss is worse. Several organ functions stop. That kills them. Mostly targeting lungs. Loss of oxygen would result in a quicker death.

Bani could heal faster than regular Naag-Naagins being Adi-Naagin. Her healing was a conscious thing. She didn’t heal subconsciously. Bani was determined to help Veer. She started climbing up the volcano.

“Bani, kya kar rahi ho? Pagal ho gayi ho? You can’t possibly climb up there. One, it is going to burn you. Can’t you feel those fumes off the walls of the volcano? It is active. Two, even if you reach the top, how will you get down? 2 km from the walls is a large moat of lava. You can’t survive lava no matter how high your healing is. Raakh bhi nahi bachegi. Aur khud ko kya samajh rahi ho? 2 km ka long jump marogi?”

“If I manage to pull myself that long, I might as well manage it.”

“Bhabhi, I don’t know aapka math kitna kharab hai but agar aap apna size badhaoge, uske saath weight bhi badhega. Anacondas also can’t make jumps because of their size. Length aur breadth ek saath badega to maintain proportion. Jitna weight badega, jump marna uthna his mushkil hoga. Elephant size loge toh uske size problems bhi aayenge. You’ll fall right into lava.”

“Toh kya karun, Daksh? Yahan baithke wait karun ki somehow Veeranshu wahan se bach ke nikal aayega? Tent laga lete hai yahan aur wait karenge 10,000 divya varsh.” Bani was angry and her tone came out harsh.

“Bhabhi, aapko lagta main ya Bade papa kuch nahi karna chahte. Agar Veer bhai aapke pati hai toh woh humare bhai bhi hai. Bade papa ke khud ke bete hai. Jitna aap unse pyaar karti hai, utna hum bhi karte hai.” Daksh replied in the same tone.

Bani sighed. “Daksh, mujhe nahi pata main kaise karungi aur kya karungi but karna toh hai. Cannot sit back and wait.”

“Bhabhi, bina plan ke jaana bohot badi bewakoofi saabit hogi.”

Bani was trying to think when a bird came fluttering around her. She moved back a bit. After a moment, she noticed that it belonged to the species of the bird that is only found by the temple of Narayan. What was the bird doing here?

The bird grabbed Bani’s saree on the shoulder. As if it was trying to pull her with him.

“Tum mujhe kahin le jaana chahte ho?” Bani asked. She wished for a moment that birds could understand her like the understood Veer. The bird didn’t understand what Bani said but kept pulling her. The bird fluttered.

Daksh closed his eyes and tried to think of a familiar gesture that Veer used to explain the birds. He pointed the bird to fly ahead. The bird recognized that gesture and flew ahead. The trio followed the bird. It finally understood that they were going to follow it. The bird led them towards some cave.

== == == == ==

Veer saw several deal bodies lying around. His dad. Tapish. His chachu. Sam. Daksh. Ponky. Bani. Ramesh kaka. Ahana. Aishwarya. Vanshika. Amar. Rishi. Kartik. Aditi. Kushal. Shreya. Mayank. Jeet. Vishal.

He was covered in blood. Top to bottom. He couldn’t even recognize whose blood it was by this point. Veer saw vultures gathering around them. Bani was impaled on the trishul as the vultures and eagles started eating her body.

“Nahi…” Veer tried to shoo them but his hand just passed through them. As if he was just a soul and unable to physically do anything.

“Please… roko isse…” Veer shouted.

“Nahi….” Veer shouted. He knew what was happening. “No… please… not them.” The vultures started to pick on the bodies. Veer shouted so loudly but couldn’t stop.

Veer pulled on the chain. The whole place shook with how strongly Veer pulled on it. Farishta was surprised. Both his wings were injured. Farishta had brought Nikhil. He grinned at the sight of Veer in pain.

“Bilkul aisa hi main bhi feel karta tha jab tujhe uss takt par dekhta tha. Aisa torture feel hota tha.” Nikhil growled.

Veer was bleeding already. Exhausted. The heat was so high. It had been four days since he hadn’t had water. Thirst already torturing him physically. The illusion of seeing dead bodies of his loved ones adding up to the psychological torture. He was saved from dehydration because it would rain for him when it went worse. They would cover him once it seemed to be a lot.

The heat of the volcano would let much of the water stay. It would have to rain continuously to keep him hydrated in that heat. 24 hrs in that heat were enough to dehydrate him. He was falling down on his energy. It took a lot of energy to control the sky. Now, as that had begun to dwindle, he couldn’t get water at all. The first day it rained constantly. The second day it rained for 6-7 hrs. The third day it came down to three hours. On the fourth day, it was just an hour.

Veer had started to go mad. He couldn’t see anything. For him, it was just darkness. He only saw the dead bodies of his loved ones in the darkness. As if it was unending darkness with just light to let him see the dead bodies. He was himself around water but couldn’t bend down to even drink the water.

Unending darkness. Surrounded by the dead bodies of his loved ones. Vultures feeding on them. Pain surging through his wings. Thirsty. Hungry. Chained for four days. Madness slipping through.

“Tumne sahi nahi kiya hai. Iss duniya mein agar Bani aur mere nahi toh tum sabh ko bhi jaan se maardunga.” Veer shouted. He pulled on the chains so hard that his wrists had started to bleed.

He watched Bani’s dead body lying there. His heart seemed to be breaking apart.

“Bani…” Veer cried. He desperately tried to free himself to reach her. She was dying slowly. Her hand outstretched for him. Veer kept trying to free himself to reach her.

“Veer bhai…” Sam called for him. Veer tried to shout but no voice came out of him. He watched his brother slowly dying before him.

Veer's temper struck at the torture. He broke down. The sky went berserk. Loud thunder crackled in the sky. Violent lightning and storms. Air flew around so violently that it started fire everywhere inside the volcano.

Farishta looked around in surprise.

“Yeh Veer kar raha hai?” He asked.

“Lag toh yahi raha hai.” Nikhil himself felt scared. The air was so violent that it raged the fire to get more and more disastrous. It set fire to everything around the place but the fire didn’t even touch Veer. “Saare cheelon ki shaktiya unke pankho mein hoti hai.”

Nikhil pulled out a dagger.

“Aaahhhh….” Veer roared so loudly that it could be heard on the entire island. The bone joining wing to the shoulder Veer was already broken by the Farishta. Now, Nikhil sliced off both the wings clean. Blood poured out of the wounds. Veer passed out from the pain. The wings fell down on the ground moving a bit. It was still fluttering for a few moments. The violent weather stopped since Veer had passed.

“Dekho. Iske pankh nikal aaye aur uski shaktiya bhi chali gayi.” Nikhil commented. Veer was bleeding profusely.

The pain aggravated the madness inside Veer. The death rune was activating itself. Veer had controlled it really well till now but the pain was drilling itself into craziness. Three days of hunger and thirst while being surrounded by the dead bodies of his loved ones. Veer had enough to drive him to the edge.

Farishta had thrown his magic and put a curse on Veer that he couldn’t see anything around himself but death. He was blinded to anything else. He didn’t even know where he was. The only thing he could see was darkness with the dead bodies of his loved ones.

Veer wanted to shout but his voice was gone. He was crying. He felt the exhaustion. The more the sight of a dead Bani was before him, the more his will to live was slipping away. More of his control slipping away. More of his sanity was slipping away. Veer only knew of Farishta being involved. He didn’t even know that Nikhil was there.

“Bani…” Veer cried but no voice came out. “Dad…”

He had been hanging for four days. He could feel how his talons itched to tear apart something. He could feel his inner cheel growling for a hunt. The hunger for ravage. Madness seeping into his blood. He felt the mark on his arm burn. The death rune begging to be let loose.

Bani laughed at him. They were playing snake and ladder. She was laughed at him as he kept getting bitten by the snake in the games.

“Main Adi-Naagin hun. Koi bhi saanp mujhe nahi kaatega.” She flipped her hair. She was wearing his hoodie.

The two were dancing around. Just being carefree.

Bani and him both at the game zone, being as competitive as possible.

Veer saw the memory of the first sight of her at the fated wedding of Noor Baig. He had gone there to give Noor a taste of how betrayal felt and what should happen to cheaters. Though, there he found his own life. How he had changed since then. She had changed him for the better. Her temperamental-self had taught him to control his own temper. The first sight of Bani Sharma.

The way he couldn’t stop looking at her. She was like the most enchanting song he had ever heard. Her brown eyes. The way she chided him for being so ruthless and heartless. He had a hole in his heart and filled it with his heartless acts. Bani’s appearance had filled the hole and he found his own human side when he found her. Her human compassion called to him. She was fierce but still soft inside her heart.

Veer had never been the kind to fall to his knees and worship the great lords of the world. He had left that side of him behind when he stood by watching his brother cremate her. He felt the bitterness that he had killed someone who was so good and stopped believing that there were Gods who would listen to him. Hence, he decided to have faith only in himself. Yet, the part of him that obsessed over the light wanted to see that light of faith. Faith that someday he would be saved. That he was worth saving.

He wondered for long how it felt to worship. She put him down on his knees and he found his faith. He found his faith in her love. He was dying to find a reason to save himself and she came as his salvation. It kicked his crazy side. He couldn’t lose her. He just couldn’t. He found himself obsessing over it so desperately because he didn’t want to lose it. He had just started to find a reason to save himself. He had lived in darkness and finally found a ray of light.

If he lost her, he would have gone insane. She was light. Every time his eyes stared into her eyes, he felt that hope filling him. He was worth it. He deserved. Like he had finally seen life after seeing just death. Death of his mother. Death of his grandparents. Death of the relationships that mattered. Death of that soft motherly affection. Death of innocence. The childhood around Shamshaan had exposed him to death so much that he couldn’t find life anywhere. Humans didn’t seem any better.

To him, they were no different than vultures. Death of values. Death of morals. The way castle of lies built up.

Looking at Bani felt like looking at life. Honesty. Courage. Truth. Strong. Fierce. Sharp-tongued. She was filled with a fire that could only be called life.

Their first dance. He felt the connection in his heart. A connection that called to him stronger than anything.

Veer tried to grasp and control that madness. He breathed. The pain was unbearable. His shoulders pained terribly. Almost killing him but not taking away his life. He writhed in pain. He almost begged for death. The pain was unbearable.

It felt easy to give in to the madness. Especially when he saw his loved ones dead. The sight was driving him insane. Almost fuelling him with some kind of rage.

For the first time, he could understand why Markaat had done what he had done. It seemed right. If this was how they treated him for destroying Markaat, he should have let the world rot with a tyrant like Markaat. He should have taken Markaat's offer and taken a quiet life where it was just him and Bani.

He had begun to sympathize with Markaat. He had been chained like this for 12,000 years, albeit fed and given water to drink. He sympathized with how Markaat had been tortured. He had hoped to see Narayan for 12,000 years. Not even once did he come to see the once devotee of his.

== == == == ==

The bird had brought them towards a cave. The cave led into an underground tunnel. The tunnel opened up inside the volcano on the other end. The entire tunnel was a maze. A super complicated maze. They had kept trying to get through the maze. Daksh kept sketching up the path they had taken so they didn't keep going around the same path round and round.

Bani's naagin half was why she found trouble in the underground tunnels. Cheels weren't the same. Balwant and Daksh weren't as comfortable as her but they didn't care. For them, Veer was more important.

Bani could feel pain in her heart. As if someone was ripping her heart apart. She fell down in tears.

“Bani, himmat haaro. Hum definitely ise cross kar lenge.” Balwant held her.

“Mujhe pata hai ki Veeranshu bohot dard mein hai.” Bani explained. Their bond almost had them feel each other’s pain. Since the moment, Bani had let go of her regret and completely gave into her relationship with Veer. Their bond had simply made them so stronger that they could almost feel each other’s pain. Like two halves of the same soul. One half attached to the other. It sounded cheesy to explain but Bani had no other way of explaining it.

Bani felt like she couldn’t breathe. Her heart giving up on pumping the blood. She broke down.

“Bani, Veer ko kuch nahi hua hai. Mera sher hai mera Veer. Kabhi haar nahi maan sakta.” Balwant gave her courage. He hugged her. He didn’t know what to do. Bani was generally a head-strong girl. The last time she broke into tears like this was when she thought she had almost lost Veer. He rubbed her arm.

“Dard bohot ho raha hai.” Bani confessed in her tears. They had been stuck in this maze for three days now.

“Bani, tum hi agar haar maan logi toh hum sabh kaise pohochenge Veer tak? Hume kisi bhi haal mein Veer ke paas jaana hai.” He made her stand up.

Bani folded her hand and closed her eyes. “Bholenath, koi toh rasta dikhaiye. Kabse phase hue hai iss bhul bhulaiya mein.” She prayed. “Main puri koshish kar rahi hun ise paar karne ki. Veeranshu ki Raksha karna jab tak main uske paas nahi pohoch jaati.”

Out of nowhere a peacock feather showed up. Golden sparks off it. Bani wiped away her tears to confirm if it was real or she was hallucinating.

“Daddyji, sirf main dekh rahi hun yaa aapko bhi mor pankh dikh raha hai.” Bani asked.

“Bhabhi, quite definitely, you’re not hallucinating kyuki mujhe toh dikh raha hai. How is it even flying like this? Yahan itni hawa bhi nahi hai.”

“You don’t see the golden sparks?”

“Golden sparks? There are no golden sparks, Bhabhi. Sirf apne aap hawa mein udd raha hai.”

Thank you so much. I'm really enjoying writing.

I am trying to get a good balance with the supernatural themes and some romance. That is why I am taking a little more time to write better updates.

Hope it is coming off well. ❤️
