Actually in my opinion this is a neat post and don't see any bashing at all

1. Shaan's voice did seem strained at the high notes in a couple of performances. He had amaaazing high notes in his performances of Behti Hawa Sa Tha Woh and Suno Na (wow. just wow.) But we should remember those couple of performances with bad high notes, too (especially the Khushboo hoon main song, where he did seem strained)

2. Classical training is not a must for a composer - Anu Malik and O P Nayyar were not classically trained and they are two of the most successful music directors in Hindi film music. 😃

3. Shaan is not a more gifted singer than Shankar - the ability to sing like Shankar Mahadevan is a gift! I don't think you can develop that talent by JUST practising. Yes, Shaan has a great voice quality, but we can't say that one is a gift and the other is only riyaaz.

But I wholly agree with your main point which is that we shouldn't compare apples and oranges! 👍🏼 Everyone has their forte and they should be compared within that genre, not across genres. But I do think Shaan could improve his high notes (that is within his genre after all) - I have noticed a HUGE improvement in his live performances over the years, and I am sure he will improve even further! 😊

Shankar Mahadevan's team should win. Why? Because he deserves to win.

He has been a better captain. His team is weaker, than some of even the eliminated teams, but he still got them to the Finals. How? By singing himself, and leading his team to the Finals. He's the best captain because he's done the most for his team to win.

And with all this hard work done by Shankar Mahadevan getting his team this far, he deserves to go all the way.

Keep singing Shankar Mahadevanji! Ap Hindustan ki naak hai!

And that was not an honest post. That was more like

bash Shankar a lot, praise him a little. And then praise Shaan a lot, and bash him a little. 😆

Don't think Shankar had a bad team to start with. As I've said, Shaan had an advantage in the form on Neeti. But in the males, Shankar had no disadvantage. If anything, he had the winner of a recent talent show (Jo Jeeta Wohi Superstar, Rahul Vaidya) and Sharib (one of the very few reality show contestants who topped the charts in 2009 with their film music). Both Rahul and Sharib have displayed their versatility and classical training in previous shows. Even Sanjeev had a great start, winning SOD.

But Shankar's team has proved weak in your own words in his show.

Weak teams don't deserve to win.

Rahul and Sharib are good. But the other 2 aren't really. Shaan has at least 3 good singers. Their "new guys" are about the same. But Rahu/Sharib/Netti <<<< Harshit/Debojit/Anwesha no doubt.

But even with a clearly weaker team, Shankar has had as much success. Why? Because of his own hard work. And though Shankar's team is weak, he is so great that he has overcome that, and imo deserves to win for this.

Well I would argue that Shaan has brought his team to the finals. And he managed to bring out the best from Harshit, Debo and Shadab, who are more or less at par with Shankar's guys (imho). Not only did Shaan bring his team to the finals, he even did their careers a service!

But yh, continue supporting Shankar's team - he is a great singer! I will continue supporting Shaan's team because of all the reasons I have laid out.

Yeah I love Shaan's team too.

From the start I have supporting Himesh, Shaan, Shankar, and Shreay's teams. For me, the best result was that all 4 of them went to the semi-finals. And I was really excited about that. Now it's just a matter of who takes it all, and I would be fine with either of these 4 winning.

So best of luck to both teams

If you compare the teams Shakar's team is more accomplised than Shaan's. Consider Shankar vs Shaan, Neeti(already singing with ARRahman) vs Anwesha, Sharib vs Harshit, Rahul vs Debojit(both have done good here winning competitions but rahul won against him in JJWS).
