Meaning, 1st lang English is compulsory, then what is the optional litrature part? Is it not part of the 1st lang English?

Also, is there a 3rd language as well?

Sorry for the many questions. Feel free to ignore, this is just my curiosity on language options. Esp given the hue & cry on regional languages that often get ignited.
