Part 9

Daksh opened the door to the hotel room he knew Dhwani to be in and he got the shock of his life. His Dhwani, his fiancee, was lying in the bed with Mukhi Virendra Pratap Singh. Both looked to be asleep. Mukhiji had his head right next to Dhwani’s, his nose touching her face. His body was partially on top of hers and one of his hands was on Dhwani’s shoulder. Seeing his fiancee in bed with another man. Daksh was not just shocked but absolutely livid. He slammed the door shut to wake the two occupants. However that didn't seem to make a difference at all. Daksh slowly made his way to the bed and pushed Mukhiji off of his Dhwani. As he did so, they both stirred. Dhwani started waking up. She saw Daksh but her head was still spinning. She slowly tried to stand up but fell back on to the bed, still holding her head.

Dhwani: Daksh? What are you doing here?

Daksh: That's what I should be asking you?

Dhwani: What are you talking about?

She looked around the room and she noticed the limp form of Mukhiji on the bed. Her eyes went wide in shock.

Dhwani: What is he doing here?

Daksh: That's what I'm asking? Di told me you were here to rest. How was I to know you were having a secret rendezvous here with Mukhiji! That too right in the middle of MY party!

Hearing Daksh raise his voice, slowly raised Mukhiji out of his slumber. He had a headache and his head was spinning too. Soon enough Chandni, Veer and Sudha had followed Daksh into the room.

Dhwani: Honestly Daksh, trust me, I have no idea how he got here.

Daksh: It's one thing that he's here but what are you doing in his arms?

Dhwani: I honestly can't remember anything.

Daksh: You could have at least left me for someone younger. What did you see in him?

Vir stood up, still holding his head with one hand. He heard what Daksh was saying and he felt like he needed to clear the air. His Bawri was not at fault.

Vir: Daksh, you're misunderstanding us. I just came to check on Dhwani, to see if she was alright. Then my head started spinning and I didn't realise when I fell asleep.

Daksh went and grabbed Vir by the collar. As he grabbed Vir’s collar, Daksh noticed the lipstick mark on Mukhiji’s vest jacket.

Daksh: This is the second time I've caught you with my fiancee. The least you could have done is wipe off the lipstick on your clothes. Dhwani, care to explain how your lipstick got on his jacket?

Vir looked down at his jacket. He realised the mark must have been left when they both fell on the bed but to Daksh it looked very incriminating. Vir grabbed Daksh' hand on his collar and brushed it off.

Vir: Trust me, I haven't done anything. I only came to check on her because I saw your friend, Rudr following her. So I chased him away and then came here. I think this mark was left on my jacket when Dhwani bumped into me. Then I don't remember what happened afterwards. I think someone spiked both our drinks.

Dhwani: Daksh, please believe me. We haven’t done anything wrong. This is all just a misunderstanding.

Veer: Daksh, I know my father. He can never do something like this. He respects women a lot.

Daksh: Yes, that I can see. I've heard enough of this. Dhwani we're going now!

Vir watched as Daksh grabbed Bawri's hand and dragged her away. Chandni went along with them.

Veer and Sudha asked Vir what happened. Vir could barely stand up but he explained how he followed Rudr in the hotel because he was chasing after Bawri. He also clarified that he was only here to make sure Bawri was alright. Yes, he loved Bawri but he would never tarnish her reputation to win her back. He wanted her to break off the engagement with Daksh by herself, not like this. Veer was not happy with how the evening concluded but first he needed to get his father home.

Veer: Let's go home Baba. You need to rest.

------------------------------

Daksh drove Chandni and Dhwani to his house. He didn't want Dhwani staying by herself tonight. He was still angry by what he saw but he needed to speak to Dhwani alone. He needed to get her home and wait for her to come to her senses. Then he could ask for his answers. There was no point arguing when she wasn't in a fit state to do so.

After they got home. Daksh held Dhwani up and walked her to the guest bedroom. She could barely walk, he placed her arms around his shoulder to allow her to place her weight on him as she walked. She seemed to be mumbling in her drowsy state saying that she didn’t do anything and for him to believe her. As soon as Daksh placed Dhwani in bed, she closed her eyes and went to sleep. After he left the room, Chandni approached him.

Chandni: Are you okay?

Daksh: Now that we're home, yes.

Chandni: What do you think happened?

Daksh: Did you not see what happened!

I’m sorry Di, I shouldn’t take my anger out on you. You didn’t do anything. I'll need to speak to Dhwani tomorrow about this.

Chandni: I just want to say, I'm not saying this because I have a crush on him but I don't think Mukhiji would take advantage of Dhwani like this. He saved her the other night and a few nights ago too. He doesn't look like the type to take advantage of a young girl. I'm flirting with him all the time and yet, he's never spoken disrespectfully to me.

Daksh: That's different Di. You weren't the one caught in a room with him.

Chandni: How I wish I did.

Daksh: God knows what would have happened if I didn't reach there then.

Chandni: What would have happened? They were both out of their senses, practically knocked out. What could they have possibly done in that situation. They could barely stand, never mind anything else. I think Mukhiji was right. Their drinks were probably spiked. I know Dhwani doesn't drink and you told me neither does Mukhiji so how did both of them end up in such a state.

Daksh: I don't know what to believe.

Chandni: You know Dhwani could never hurt you like this. I think you're scared you're going to lose her. You know she doesn't love you but you're afraid someone else will whisk her off her feet. Are you afraid Mukhiji will?

Daksh: I don’t know. Dhwani seems to be genuinely impressed by Mukhiji. He’s older and she’s told me she could never be interested in an older man but after tonight, I don’t know what to believe. When I last spoke to Mukhiji, it did seem like he was still madly in love with his late wife.

Chandni: Then do you not believe what Dhwani said? Why are you reacting like this? Do you not trust her?

Daksh: Yes I do.

Chandni: Then what's the problem?

Daksh: You don't know how it felt. To see her in the arms of another man. To see her lipstick on his vest jacket. I just couldn't tolerate it and I lashed out. I do know Dhwani would never do anything to hurt me.

Chandni: Then let her know this tomorrow. That you got jealous and lashed out. Let her know that you trust her. Don’t go accusing her when this situation was completely not in her control.

Daksh: You’re right Di. I can’t risk losing Dhwani over this. Thanks for the advice and for calming me down.

Chandni: Well I had to, otherwise you'd start a fight with your future jijaji.

Daksh just rolled his eyes and said goodnight.

Pratap Singh House

Vir, Veer and Sudha arrived at their Delhi home. Veer had to keep his arm around his father as he was still in a dizzy state. Veer proceeded to take him to his room, take his shoes off and covered Vir up with a blanket. Veer then made his way to his and Sudha's bedroom. Now that his father was asleep, Veer vented out his frustrations.

Veer: I can't believe Baba was in a room alone with Dhwani.

Sudha: He was in a room with Purvi. There's nothing wrong with that, she's his wife.

Veer: Yes we know that but Daksh doesn't. We're in the middle of a business deal with him and my Baba is in a room with Daksh' fiancee!

Sudha: No matter how many times you say it, the truth won't change that she is Mukhiji's wife not Daksh' fiancee.

Veer: I know that but the world doesn't. Can you imagine how bad it could have been if the press found out. Our reputation would be in ruins along with Daksh and Dhwani.

Sudha: Her name is Purvi! Also IF the press found out. Thankfully there was no one else there.

Veer: Sudha, I know you're thinking with your heart but think a bit practically. Our reputation is everything and we're working with Daksh. Until the truth is revealed to Daksh and Dhwa... I mean Purvi... We need to keep quiet and stay within our limits.

Sudha: I understand.

Veer: By the way, why did you give your phone number to that Nishant?

Sudha: I just thought he'll come in handy, if I need any information on Purvi. He's close to Daksh and Purvi.

Veer: Yes I understand that but you could have given my number, not yours.

Sudha: What could I say when he asked? Oh please take my husbands number. Listen to how stupid that sounds. Trust me Veer, I know our reputation means everything to you. I wouldn't do anything to harm that. Anyways, why does it affect you so much if I speak to someone else?

Veer: No you're right, why should it affect me. Who am I? I'm sorry I questioned you.

Sudha: Veer, I didn't mean that.

Before Sudha could say anymore Veer walked away. However the truth was why should it affect Veer? Sudha and Veer had no real husband-wife relationship then why was this affecting Veer. Does this mean he's jealous? Sudha didn't know what to think but a little bit of hope awakened in her because if Veer was jealous, then clearly she matters to him. Maybe their relationship did have a chance after all.

Shekhawat House

Daksh was restless, pacing in his bedroom. No matter how much he tried, he couldn't get the image of Dhwani with Mukhiji, out of his mind. What happened tonight, shouldn't have happened. Why was Dhwani in that room with Mukhiji? Daksh was just so angry seeing the two together in that situation. A little part of him was jealous as even in these 6 months together with Dhwani, him and her have never been that close, even as friends. He had tried to kiss her a few times but she pushed him away, saying to wait till they get married. He wasn't desperate, he could wait. It was just that she seemed to be so comfortable with Mukhiji, that comfort didn't seem to be there with him. Instead it was just awkward. Was Dhwani falling for Mukhiji? She got jealous when other women praised his looks that she acted like a jealous wife. When he had asked her, she brushed it off but now he was having second thoughts. What if she had started liking Mukhiji as more than a friend. No, he couldn't allow her to fall for another man. Only he could be in her life but what could he do? He couldn't stop Dhwani from meeting Mukhiji. He had no such right to stop her, even if she was his fiancee. He needed to show his trust in her and he did genuinely trust her. God forbid if Dhwani did like Mukhiji, at least there was no way it would be reciprocated. Mukhiji still loved his wife but that could easily change with him spending more time with Dhwani.

Such thoughts kept getting into Daksh' mind. He couldn't bear the thought of losing Dhwani. Now he needed to make sure he spent more time with her so she didn't feel neglected and felt loved instead. That was the only way to get into her heart. From today on, Daksh made it his goal to prioritise his relationship with Dhwani. He gave up his friends, now he needed to manage his time better in relation to his work. With that goal set, Daksh got ready for bed.

------------------------------

Dhwani awoke as the sunlight flashed on her face. Why did I not close the curtains before going to bed? Dhwani groaned as she awoke with a headache and then realised that she wasn't in her room. Why am I in Daksh' guestroom? She covered her face with her hands to try and stop the oncoming headache. She then remembered the events of the night before. She clearly remembered being at the party, meeting and dancing with Mukhiji but after that it was all a kind of a blur. She remembered some moments of being in a room and Daksh bringing her home. 'What happened last night?' She thought aloud.

Daksh: That's what I was thinking too.

Dhwani: Daksh, what am I doing here? Why didn't you drop me home?

Daksh: I needed to make sure you were alright and I didn't want to leave you by yourself.

Daksh handed Dhwani some tablets for her headache and a glass of water. Dhwani took the water and quickly swallowed the tablets, hoping it would kick into effect immediately.

Dhwani: Why, what happened?

Daksh: What do you remember?

Dhwani: I remember being at the party but then later on, my head started spinning. I remember Chandni Di taking me to a room to allow me to rest.

Daksh: Do you remember anything after that.

Dhwani placed her hands on her eyes, straining to try and remember. She had a few flashes of Mukhiji in the room. Why was Mukhiji there? She didn't want to mention that to Daksh.

Dhwani: I just remember lying down on the bed.

Daksh: What was Mukhiji doing there?

Dhwani: Mukhiji?

Daksh: Yes, Mukhiji.

Dhwani: I honestly don't remember, I'm getting flashes of him being there but I don't remember opening the door to him.

Daksh: Well Mukhiji said last night that he came to check up on you.

Dhwani: Well that must be why he was there.

Daksh: I believe you, okay but I need to reveal what happened last night.

Dhwani: What else happened?

Daksh: I found you in the hotel room with Mukhiji. You were asleep in his arms.

Dhwani was stunned.

Dhwani: Oh my God! What did I do?

Daksh: That was my reaction too. I just got so angry seeing you with him. Mukhiji explained what happened but I didn't want to hear it so I dragged you away. After we came home, Chandni Di explained that I should calm down and that you would never do anything to hurt me, at least not intentionally.

What had happened? How did she end up in Mukhiji's arms? God knows what else I said or did.

Dhwani: I'm sorry that you had to see that. You know I could never do that to you. You mean everything to me. You're my family. (Dhwani held Daksh' face).

Daksh: I know. Don't worry. I trust you. I think I was just so angry because I can't bear to see you with anyone else. Look, now that you're up, freshen up. We'll have breakfast and I'll drop you to yours so then you can change. Unless you want to wear something of Di's again.

Dhwani: No thank you. I'll be out in a moment.

Daksh: Oh yeah, one last thing. Don't worry about Rudr. He won't ever be coming near you again. I know you don't ever lie. I've made it clear to him he's not welcome.

Dhwani: Thanks Daksh, for everything.

Daksh: No need to say thanks. You're my future and my priority. Everything else comes second.

Daksh left the room and Dhwani went and locked the room. Oh my God! What the hell did I do? What was I thinking? Well I don't remember what I was thinking. Dhwani was mortified. She told Daksh she could never feel for Mukhiji, yet she got caught in a room with him. She was attracted to the man. God knows what else she did in that room. Only Mukhiji could answer those questions but she wasn't sure it was so wise to meet up with him so soon after last nights incident. No, she would avoid him. Let there be distance. That would give her the time and space needed to get over her attraction to him. Having decided that, Dhwani went to the bathroom to wash her face and get ready for breakfast.

------------------------------

Daksh, Dhwani and Chandni sat down to have breakfast together. Other than last nights incident, the party seemed to have gone well. They were enjoying their breakfast when a servant came and handed a bunch of newspapers to Daksh. Daksh asked the servant to leave it on the table as him and Dhwani were making plans to go to a school that he was a trustee of. As they were discussing this, he noticed his and Dhwani's picture on the front page of one of the papers. Daksh immediately lifted that paper up and his eyes widened. The headline read:

'Daksh Singh Shekhawat's fiancee caught in hotel room with Mukhi Virendra Pratap Singh'

The article had a picture showing Daksh holding Dhwani's hand as he exited the room with her. This must have been taken when he dragged Dhwani and brought her home. There was no photo included of Mukhiji but that was due to him still being in the room. Damn!

Daksh: This is exactly what I feared! (Daksh threw the newspaper on the table)

Dhwani picked up the paper and was stunned to see the headline.

Dhwani: What do we do?

Daksh went closer to Dhwani and cupped her face.

Daksh: Don't worrry. I'm here for you. We need to do damage control. Cancel our plans for visiting the school today. We need to find a solution to this problem as soon as possible. I will not have anyone defaming my fiancee.

Daksh walked away in anger and got on the phone to Roshan to try and think of ways to handle the situation.

This was the absolute worst that could have happened. Dhwani just couldn't bear Daksh' reputation getting ruined because of her. Why did I let Mukhiji into the room?

Chandni noticed Dhwani getting upset as she started looking at the article again. She advised Dhwani to ignore it and eat her breakfast. That Daksh would resolve this soon enough and he knew how to handle situations like this.

Dhwani: I just don't like being the one responsible for his problems.

Chandni: Don't worry about it. He's your fiance, if you're not going to trouble him, who will?

Dhwani: On top of my name being attached, Mukhiji's included as well.

Chandni: You had to go into a room with my Chand.

Dhwani: Di trust me, I didn't.

Chandni: I know you didn't. I'm just joking with you.

Dhwani: Not a good joke.

Chandni: Look, just leave everything to Daksh. You will be coming with me to the salon, take your mind off of this. Okay?

Dhwani: Okay.

Chandni and Dhwani made plans to have a relaxing day in the salon. It would help Dhwani forget for a while. So Chandni got ready and dropped Dhwani off at her apartment, reminding her to be ready on time to go to the salon. Dhwani thought about Chandni Di and how lucky her future husband would be to have such a kind hearted wife. However Chandni only had such thoughts for one person, the same person lingering in Dhwani's mind a lot lately. Dhwani stopped her thoughts from straying to Mukhiji. I need to stop thinking about that man, after all the trouble caused last night. Dhwani got out of her thoughts and started getting ready for her date with Chandni Di.

------------------------------

Pratap Singh house

Vir awoke with a headache. He needed to take some tablets to make it better but first he needed to get out of bed. His thoughts went to last nights party and how his plan was going to woo Bawri. So far it seemed to be going well. Then he remembered what happened later on in the night. He went to check up on Bawri and instead fell asleep, only for Daksh to catch them together! There was nothing wrong with that, Bawri is his wife but the world and Daksh don't know that. He didn't care how Daksh felt but Bawri must be feeling guilty and hurt.

Vir remembered her antics from last night. She found him attractive and she was jealous when other's complimented him. He had nearly kissed her but she wasn't fully in her senses. So in a way, it was good he didn't kiss her.

Vir didn't know how to approach Bawri now. Did she remember last night? Or do I just ignore it and pretend like nothing happened? May be ignoring would be best, otherwise it would become awkward between him and Bawri. Having decided that, Vir finally got up and started getting dressed for the day.

------------------------------

Veer and Sudha were already sat having breakfast. Veer was reading the newspaper and he didn't look happy. Vir sat down on his seat and asked his son what's in the newspaper that's got him unhappy. Veer read out aloud the article headline. 'Daksh Singh Shekhawat's fiancee caught in hotel room with Mukhi Virendra Pratap Singh. What were you thinking Baba? Going into a hotel room with Dhwani, that too during Daksh' business party downstairs?'

Vir: It's not what it sounds like.

Veer continued reading the article aloud. 'Sources say that Miss Dhwani and Mukhiji have been seen together on several occasions. Sometimes shopping and other times getting coffee. One wonders what is going on between the two? Is Miss Dhwani and Daksh Singh Shekhawat's business partner, Mukhi Virendra Pratap Singh having an affair? It looks like the young Miss Dhwani has caught the eye of the older gentleman. To continue reading, turn to page 4. Need I read any more Baba?'

Veer handed the newspaper to Vir.

Veer: What happened last night wasn't right. How could you be so careless Baba?

Vir: Everything printed here is ridiculous. None of it is true so stop worrying and getting angry.

Veer: How can I not be angry? Your reputation is getting ruined, all because you can't wait. Because of your impatience.

Vir: What are you trying to say. Stop talking in circles, say it straight.

Sudha was trying to get Veer to calm down but Veer brushed her hand off his arm.

Veer: I know you want Purviji back, that's fine but at least think of your reputation. Our reputation! Everyone is going to think you're a pervert, chasing after a young girl, who according to the world is Daksh' fiancee!

Vir: She is my wife!

Veer: Not here!

Vir: Bawri was my wife, is my wife and will continue to be my wife. No matter what the world says, she will always be mine!

Veer: You want to win her over, that's fine. At least do it discreetly.

Vir took a breath to calm himself.

Vir: Last night, she wasn't feeling well and went to rest in that room. I only went to check that she was alright. I didn't know the press would get wind of it. I would never do anything to tarnish her reputation.

Veer: What about our reputation? Are you not bothered about that?

Vir: Yes I am bothered but I can't do anything if the press write such nonsense.

Veer: We need to try and come up with a solution. We need to speak with Daksh. I don't want our business deal to be affected by it. Until then Baba, it's best to keep a distance from Purviji.

Vir stood up.

Vir: Who are you to stop me from seeing my wife? Who are you? Do what you will but I will not stop meeting Bawri.

Vir walked away from the table without having breakfast. He needed to speak to Bawri, see that she was alright. Especially after the article that came out.

You may call me Faz.

No I wrote this when the leap started, just before the party episode. Yes a few of what I've wrote has been the same in the show. I thought the only way for PurVir to meet would be like the ghat scene. Looks like Saba thought the same way.😂

I feel like I'm running out of good ideas and if I do have an idea, I worry Saba will put it in the show before I can post the next part of my story.😂

Thank you for liking and reading my FF.🤗

I'll remember to tag you next time but it seems like I don't have to if you already know my schedule.😂

Hopefully I can start writing the next part. Only problem this week has been, I've been enjoying the episodes far too much that I've not been writing as much as I do over the week.

Thank you Grace for liking and commenting despite being a silent member. I can't skip the times for next week, I need those times to write.😂
