Not more than 5 years ago, my sister's best friend was at university (I can't remember what he was studying), and came up with a response to a question which raised many opinions as to whether it was genius or foolish.
They had 2 hours to write an essay, and the question and his response were as follows:
Question was : - What is courage?
His Ans Was :- This is.
Most people you talk to say that it is an immature or even smart-alec answer, or an easy way out of writing a long essay.
My opinion, and that of a few others, was that it was a genius answer and it summed up courage better than could be described in any other way, no matter how long an essay it was.
The most important opinion though is that of the marker, who obviously had an open mind and awarded a distinction for the answer.
