Agreed that Gunjan expected too much from Samrat but we can't ignore the circumstances she had just witnessed then.
First, she saw her own sister getting married to her love with much difficulty. What did she get in the end? Disowning of Nupur by Bauji. Gunjan was scared after looking at this. Somewhere, she wished her marriage to be hassle-free.
Second, when a young girl witnesses an event like marriage, she automatically starts dreaming about her own wedding. Same was true for Gunjan.
Third, she was not asking Samrat to marry her then and there. She too was a career-oriented girl and she too knew well about Samrat's need to do something after college. She just wanted a stamp, a seal of confirmation from his side to their relationship.
