when I saw the realisation I did not feel that lust was playing a big factor in it...

But now that you mentioned it it sure does like neck kiss definitely had a big contribution in realisation....
I really wish they stop showing intimate scenes between both couples....I know I am an minority here in saying so..since lot of people appreciated the kiss scenes...

I truly and 100 percent agree with u tas...this is nothing to do with love being shown in the wrong or unwanted way...the creatives never want to protray such things..dear..this is wat sam is supposed to feel wen he saw gunjan..ther was a spark within him wen he saw herr in dreams and so it just happened natuarally enough to make him understand the meaning of wat is love and he shuld know that this gal is not ur frend but the one made for u !

I see what you're getting at but I look at it another way.
What is love between a guy and a girl? It's emotional bonding plus attraction. Without that attraction, you're just friends - and that happens for most people in college - you don't fall in love with everyone. You have a whole bunch of friends, but what makes one person special is a certain something you start feeling for them, which is more than friendship. You want to spend more time with them, you want to be alone with that person, and definitely attraction is a part of that feeling.

For Samrat, the emotional closeness has been there for ages, even when he was with Sheena, he always wanted to spend time with Gunjan. But because she was so removed from his own idea of what his grilfriends should be like - he always thought the hottest girls had to be his girlfriends - he never actually realised that he could be attracted to Gunjan in that way, or maybe he never allowed himself to think of her that way - which could be the explanation of his statements that he was not worthy of her. That was why he always insisted that they were only friends. After Sheena made his doubts start, he has been feeling awkward around Gunjan, because he's become conscious of her not just as a friend, but as a girl, and all those hand touches which had become very casual between them, started becoming more awkward.

The two scenes were actually very logically done - he's removed flour from her hair before, but the way he removed the sparkles was very different ... and that led to his fantasizing the kiss ... which has made him realise that she's much more than just a friend, because he's looking at her so differently. SG were always very cute - but they needed that spark to set off the romance, and I feel that's what has happened. It's not just lust - lust happens when you don't care for a person but just have a physical attraction. This is love - the attraction has happened way after the emotional closeness happened.

Sorry for the long post!!!

@Kavya - valid point!

There is a point I want to make here, mostly to the CVs, there is a world of difference between love n lust.. That dream kiss was totally uncalled for in the circumstances. Its one thing to enjoy the kiss (which if people did, I dont have problem with that! I'll just take the reason as they had been dying to see something like that) ..but another to actually have a kiss portrayed at such a stage of the relationship...I thought it outrageous to come up with such a neck-kiss Idea when Samrat was supposed to be realising..
What were the cvs trying to prove?
That S find G unattractive so if he dreams of kissing her, that means he is in love
That lusting about your best friend means you are in love (I would suggest getting ur head checked)
...
I could go on and on..but I dont want to.

They had it all going for them a good friendship as basis, lots of emotional bonding, a 3rd person to hammer truth into Sam's head....it could have been a realisation through various actions, physical attraction without lust...with love...definitely NOT with lust!

Kavya..its depends on you what you wanna highlight on..they showed multiple factors leading to the Aceeptance more than realization in my point of view..so after sheena blabbered her way out..sam started thinking on those lines..and acc to me he had started realizing subconsiously right after but was in outward denial about it..what gave it in was the hug in the courtroom..thats the first time he felt immense attraction towards gunjan that he hadnt felt before..hence the awkwardness..the chemistry in the glitter scene...leading to his dream..the aur pass one..

by then there was no way to run for him.. he had to accept the fact that this wasnt friendship after all..n there was nothing wrong in thinking about her this way..coz he had repirmanded himself ever since the jial track for being attracted towards her..the REALIZATION..was the phase after that..when he DIDNOT want gunjan to have the friendship band..as he didnot see it as friendship anymore...so you have to take everything together..the i love gunjan bit came as a sudden awakening..but then i can discount the jerky transition..

I was thinking of how else could they have shown it..n dint come with a better alternative that could erase the FRIENDSHIP mania from his heart...then again Attraction is the first stepping stone towards something special..i still have my definitions for love mixed up..so wont even venture there..hope i made my point here

I totally agree, Divz....these are my exact thoughts on the subject as well....especially the last para....SG had a cutesy, sweet aura to them that was their USP....I have no clue what the creatives were trying to go for with the neck kiss....I think it took away from what SG are....portrayed Samrat in a very weird light....he's never even kissed any of the other chicks he was fluttering around with since the beginning but with G, he randomly jumps to directly imagining that sort of kiss?? A cheek or forehead kiss would have been better if they were oh so desperate to show romantic SG moments....the neck kiss took this into a wholly unnecessary category....that's my opinion....no offence to all the ppl enjoying this. And on top of that it was shot very weirdly too.

Agree with u Kavya in a way...but i thought it was really during KN and immediately after taht...i dont think the kiss scene really had an impact on him...i didnt see that from that perspective...atleast didnt interprete so!!

But i just wanted to say...didnt creatives once say that samrats realisation will be the most dramatic?? Or am i wrong? was it the confession? i thought it was realisation....if so....to be honest i didnt find it dramatic....i thought it was sweeet...! but that doesnt mean i didnt like the realisation which was portrayed now...i loved it...just that we got wrong information....but its okay...atleast they didnt ruin it...in my view...
concluding, i think its still #1 & #2!! I HOPE SO !!! =)

Wowww !!! Greatly said !!👏 I enjoy reading ur posts !! Yes, i agree with u...attraction is defo also an important part, besides emotional bonding...and especially like u said, sajan have always shared a really really close relationship....there was just a tiny bit of attraction missing for the realisation....and that was shown...so the whole thing actually makes sense indeed!

@bold -Exactly Anu, if it were a cheek or forehead kiss, it would have gone alright with the sweet premise created for SG. (this is ofcourse if they thought it imperative to include a kiss).
