On the contrary, she was doing the exact things that he has no time or patience for, annoying him, totally rubbing him on the wrong side . 😆 😆

So very well said, Kavya! 👏👏 I totally agree! Yes, his body language used to be so relaxed and self-assured....I loved that....I think it was N's irreverence that intrigued him....she was just such a FIRECRACKER😆😆....WHO wouldn't be intrigued by her instantly??😆....especially since she was SO the 180 of Mayank himself.....Ofcourse he was annoyed more than anything else...haha...but he was definitely intrigued as well....for the reasons you defined so well above👍🏼

I think what went on in his mind was- arre!! which species does she fall under.. never read about any such specimen in any of my books. which aasman did she tapkofy from??😆

Thank you so much for the replies and inputs, everyone!

@Nemo: Awww *hugs back* Great two moments you mentioned! I loved the adorable si innocent tone in which N goes, 'aap chale gaye kya'?? LOL..but M's reply about some maidaan chhod ke nahin jaata or whatever was seriously dumb....lol

And I agree.....there was a core of humbleness to him.....he was the class topper and did have all the girls swooning over him but he wasn't arrogant.....he just didn't have any patience for frivolous b.s.....I SO identify with that! :D LOL

@ananya: Fantastic post! You reminded me of those first promos and the title song again *sigh*...I love the bit with MN in that snow and umbrella....one of my friends here...Sonia....who is on lurker mode right now and a like button pressing spree...haha....she always mentions how much that visual basically explains MN perfectly.....how we'd all pictured them....that BALANCING out of each other as you said.....we were all intrigued as to how that would happen once they fall for each other....well sadly we have our answer now :S......lol....Nupur has brought the fun element in M's life as expected however M has decided that instead of grounding her flights of fancy, he is going to go along and revel in them instead too :S.....this is called 'true lowe' I guess *rolls eyes*

@Bini: I'm glad you're enjoying MN now yaar :-).....Bidaai toh has turned into such utter crap....lol

@Aditi: The beach scenes were a class apart totally yaar.....agree with both you and Neha in that there was this special kind of easy camaraderie in that scene....and it deffo jagaaoed the MN fangirl in me even more.....LOL....no wonder it remains among my list of top 3 MN scenes.

Anu 🤗lovely post!
MN were really unique! i saw all these scene later..online cuz when mjht started..i used to watch bidaai at 9pm..haha.. (u know better 😆) i kind of started watching it from the talent parade epi...but even then i wasnt regular.. it was the barn epi that did it for me! after that i was very regular with this show..

ofcourse later i watched all MN scenes online..beach, diwali, first meeting etc etc... they were really amazing.. i agree with u... their first meeting was different.. ofcourse there was the dupatta n the wind 😆 but no random staring.. lol..something unusual... the "kuch zyada ho gaya" scene is a classic! i watchd it recently .. nupur's dialogue "hamare morena mein sirf kapde hangout karte hai" 😆😆 rofl..

umm nowadays we do get to see the original nupur at times.. but yeah this mayank is definitely missing... kabhi kabhi aa jaata hai..lol...n i miss these shirts! he lookd sooo good in them.. those pics that u have posted..*sigh* he looks amazing!! why cant get these shirts back? he looks like a college students n that bag looks soo cool!

@anu - *gives her friend sonia high five* i was in lurker mode for a really long time too.. i think urs the first post i'm actively participating in. jus cudnt resist.😊
sorry - had some probs with quote situation in my previous post.

and i continue to watch MJHT just hoping that balancing will happen (soon).*prays hard* I'm ready to take all this assuming .... oh well!! i'll be off the topic if i get started with how can the story proceed from here on.

-edit-
thot i might as well add it here.. jus two liner....assuming mayank realizes he cant be in ALICE IN WONDERLAND.. i mean nupur wonderland forever an they've to face real time situations whr mayank's sensibility will play a major role in grounding her fancy.hope thats the major twist.

But till then.. pulegze *begs* lets go back to "poorani yaadein taaza" mode. i'm thoroughly enjoying it.

Hi Anu...thanks for opening such an awesome topic. Don't know how I missed this one...

I actually did not start watching the serial from the beginning. I was in India for vacations at that time and you just don't have much time to see any TV. I was at my aunt's house surfing through the channels when I saw a dance practice session between a girl & a boy. What caught me was that the girl was trying her best not to giggle or get tickled while the guy was moving his hands down teaching her the step. The guy was so frustrated with her actions that he just pushes her off. And..that's it. For some reason, I couldn't take out the girl's nautanki baaz from my head.

The first thing I did once I was back from India was to track down the older episodes. I did not enjoy the first few episodes of those Dia n gang much but somehow Nupur's chulbulipan kept me glued to the show.

Her first proper interaction (the calssroom one) with Mayank was CLASSIC. His sarcastic dialogue "Girna No.2 , aur kitni bhar girengi aap" and stuffing the cotton buds without uttering any words were terrific. And of course who can forget our Morena Express's action to these witty remarks. Bechara was so calm and wanted to make her at ease because of the ragging issues, but nope..our ME had her own mind and started off her railgaadi....😆

Sigh! They were so real. I was able to connect with Nupur instantly and could understand Mayank's character also. Always used to think how will these two ever get together. Both were two extreme and had loads of ego.

Well, I think I will again start with the old MN scenes to cool me off for sometime...

Thanks for the post...

PS: And YES, you made it very difficult for me to sail through the previous pages. I was stuck with the photos you have posted😳 *sigh* ....

@Manali: Aww thanks so much yaar! *hugs* Glad you liked it! Haan these days original Mayank only shows up rarely....*sigh*...like in that walk home scene....baaki toh :S....chalo chhodo....I'm enjoying reliving the past....LOL

@ananya: Welcome to the forum and glad to see you officially participating now :-)

@Rama: Thanks so much yaar! Glad you enjoyed it....I figured it was better to channel my energies into reminiscing than wasted frustration over the current nonsense...LOL.....it's so pointless now....haha

Ohh you started watching from that dance rehearsal?? That was another CLASSIC scene! One of my all time favs too!

@everyone: The 'thoda zyada hogaya' reminiscing post is up now :-)

Anu, I loved the early scenes. I haven't seen the more recent ones, and the beginning was so filmy, but they made it unconventional no?

I mean, Mayank is not the normal, conventional romantic hero, and Nupur would like to think she's the conventional heroine, but she isn't, she's way too dramatic for that. And it was expressed so well in the first day, no? When he didn't fawn over her immediately, it became so obvious that they weren't the conventional couple, and it sucked me in.

Love,
Radz

BINGO! That is what attracted all of us too.......which we have come to realize now, was very unfortunate of us to have fallen for that natural yet entertaining interaction between their characters.......for it was NEVER supposed to remain so for long
