LOL I haven't been trying hard to FIND the 'charm'.....I was just using magnifying glass as a figure of speech....lol....charm is something that shouldn't need to be searched for, right?? It's either there or it's not ;-).....lol

ah see when i read d like button's working again!!!!😆

nways coming back one of d reasons i fell for MN was coz the series first meetings apart frm having all filmy instances..... had its flavour of actual MN wat they were meant to be originally !!!!!!!!!

i actually liked that duppatta scene for one reason as u said they didn't see each other n no starrings ........ though it was there in d later scene!!!!!

like when she gets locked in d loo after sometime when she doesn't here his voice d way she says "aap chalegaye kya" i mean d tone n d attitude..... though she was frightened ..... as if everybody other than her is useless left her alone n went away ........ but immmediately cries loads😆......... bit weird but adjustable

n then M tries to console her but is confused........ but i liked his nature there trying to help a new student!!!!!!despite being a topper in college he was humble i thought!!!!

then in d class room when she falls "aur kitni baar girengi aap" n "help karne par generally log thanku bolete hai ".............. bye god they were classic dialogues which have been replaced by dialogues like "car itni din bandh padi thi ab chabi mila hai" n all etc etc i don't think i need to elaborate on that !!!!!!!

n even N was full bindass didn't respond as normal shy heroines would do like "oh sry main toh bhool hi gayi .... nahi actually thanku very much aap ne mujhe bachaya" 🤢..........duh i was likt thank god it was some thing diff !!!!!!!!!

n even loved the whole convo abt who is "Mayank sharma" more their expressions n cottonballs thingy !!!!!!!!😆😆😆

n in btw suddendly N blabbers something n all when she here's abt d proj bye god that was Nupur Bhushan !!!!!!!!!!*sobs* a girl with a difference but now .............*sobs*

aahhhh!!! u made me watch mayank nupur scenes (only)😃all over again... like most of u here it was mayank's character sketch that pulled me in - that " i know what i want in my life" and "short skirts or flying dupattas- who cares" attitude or seemingly arrogant at first but really caring, balanced sensible- i can go on-*sigh*- (woh baat kissi aur mein kahan). .
I was like why doesnt apna uppar waala make guys like these and if he did he surely doesnt send them my way😉.Ones i meet never so focussed and they always always drool over minis and micro minis🤢 and oh never ever have the adorable smile. 😃
Nupur jus grew on me as episodes unfolded.The chutter -puter, constant filmy bak bak and "apne morena mein yeh ..apne morena mein woh" dailogues never felt artificial. It seemed arre yeh ladki paida hi aisi thi. /oh Wish i cud describe them so well as you all did

But Mayank caught my attention way before the first episode( i hardly remember the first episode anyways). All i remember is this guy in the title track song - who walks up with an umbrella to a girl sitting on a bench all worried its snowing/ raining and he shares it with her(ofcourse didnt miss his cute smile ).And secondly -the one where he is engrossed in his book and nupur follows him and pulls it off.

Somehow i jus felt it said a lot abt both of them. It showed how these seemingly opposite people are going to balance each other out.(and not jus one changes completely for the other)
as in The FIrst- mayank gettin the umbrella symbolised how this well planned guy going to help (not help exactly-just dnt get the right word)this diametrically oppossite nupur who always gets into "trouble" situations and in the second case - how masti bhari nupur will bring some masti in padaku mayank.

I started watchin the show to see how these two will fall in love, how will they ever arrive at this perfect blend where she brings in some fun element in his so called perfect world and how he will become the reality check in her sapno ki duniya and how her "dont underestimate me" attitude will challenge mayank's "i can judge ppl well -they jus waste time" attitude
and was curious how the creatives will go about their story.

I love this thread and i simply loved reading all the post and i jus loved revisitin those days again.
Since i'm not so gud at describing them i think i wud go with clickin the "like" button spree mission.

Anu, I don't know if you remember, but once in Bidaai forum you mentioned that You loved Mayur and recommended me to watch them.......but I sort of didn't because I was really into RagVir and SaAalkeh...but the other day, I saw their video in youtube and was completely hooked.....and went back and saw all the show....

After a long time, I felt that Mayur are a couple, that have been developed very well, their love, friendship, romance, intensity, passion, all seems so natural and real.............this is the jodi I completely trust, and in the future even if they have a fight or something, I will not be worried, because I know this is the jodi, that can't stay away from eachother.......they are truly made for eachother......

Lovely post Anu ji. A big thank you for all those wonderful, wonderful memories. I watched the show from the first day, and from the promos itself, I think I had sort of typecast all the characters in my mind. With MN, I was like....OK...Filmy Girl + Nerdy Guy= Another Usual Kahaani. Then, when I saw the beginning of the dupatta scene....I was like Chalo, story start. Now, the guy will freeze into space.....and it will be Love at First Bump or something. But the scene proved me wrong. What struck me the most about that scene was how normal, everyday, and commonplace it was.....two people bump into each other....don't even look at each other properly, say sorry and rush off. The bathroom scene was filmy too, but again, like it has been said here, that touch of realism which was added in the form of Nupur's slight claustrophobia set the scene apart.

And the classroom scene, well, quite simply put, that was Mayank at his Mayankish best. "Aur kitni baar girengi aap ?" That wasn't flirty, chauvinistic and whatever, but was classic Mayank. I loved the "Thoda zyada" scene as well, as again I was proved wrong. I thought "Achcha...now today everyone will make fun of her, she'll cry,and our hero will save her, and there begins there love isshtory". But none of that happened. No cliches at all. No crybaby heroine, no sympathetic hero. I LOVED that scene. It puts a huge smile on my face when I see it, as do almost all their scenes back then.

But what really hooked me were the beach scenes. There was such easy camaraderie, friendship, and so much of simple laughter and joy in that scene. There was an ease, a comfort, which was so endearing. And lo and behold, the MN fangirl in me was born. 😆

OK, I've suddenly realized that this has turned into a REALLY long rant, so I'll shut up now. But thank you once again Anu ji for the lovely post. 😊

Omg!!! very true. He looked young in that outfit ( apart from being HOT n ehrm Delicious)😆. The formal shirts with bunch of buttonz open *turns off fangirl mode* makes him look lil bit old.

And his expressions *sees pic intended for drool club* *fangirl mode on* .. hoye hoye... perfect!!!
I also love it when he gives the "oh crap!! i'm goin to be ,of all the ppl, HER project partner" and like kavya said the composed relaxed "chalo ive no other way out, its me who has to do all the work" look
Cotton earplugs wala scene oh.. was so.....so Mayank... he has solutions for all kind of probs - doesnt he!! forethought 😆
and best part "woh badnaseeb main hoon" look and the way he taps his finger hard on his chest -its as if he wud've preferred a knife to his finger to stab himself instead of enduring this punishment of being with a nautanki.

@kavya - Seriously he sure was class apart. *sighs harder*
