Hey space enthusiasts!

I just wanted to drop a quick update about something that's got us all on the edge of our seats: Chandrayaan-3, India's incredible lunar mission! 🇮🇳🌙

Guess what? We're just one step away from witnessing history in the making – a soft landing on the moon's unexplored South Pole region! 🤯 Yep, you heard that right! This is like stepping into the sci-fi books we used to read as kids.

So, here's the scoop: Chandrayaan-3 took off on July 14, 2023, from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre. Fast forward, and it's now cruising around the moon, all set for the big touchdown. They're aiming for August 23, and boy, are we excited!

Imagine the thrill of the powered descent, as Chandrayaan-3's got its engines and sensors doing the moon tango to ensure it lands like a feather in the South Pole area. 🕺💃

Once there, the rover will be the real MVP – wandering around, analyzing lunar soil and rocks with its cool APXS and LIBS gadgets. And the lander? It's got a lineup of scientific measurements to take – seismic, thermal, ionospheric, you name it.

But here's the thing: the absolute icing on the space cake? Chandrayaan-3's not alone! Chandrayaan-2's orbiter plays wingman, keeping the communication lines open and helping with data relay. Teamwork makes the dream work, right?

Let's talk lunar nights – things will cool down big time. But no worries, our tech-savvy lander and rover are prepped with radioisotope heaters and battery power to brave the chilly lunar dark. These guys mean business!

So, please mark your calendars for August 23, and let's cheer on Team India as they prepare to pull off something seriously extraordinary. 🎉🌌 And hey, remember, the journey doesn't end there. Chandrayaan-3's got more lunar exploring to do after the landing.

Stay tuned, fellow space fans! This stuff fires up our imaginations and brings us closer to the stars. Let's celebrate the spirit of curiosity and discovery together! 🚀🌠

The primary objectives of Chandrayaan-3 mission are threefold, (a) to demonstrate Safe and Soft Landing on Lunar Surface; (b) to demonstrate Rover roving on the moon, and (c) to conduct in-situ scientific experiments.

"‘Welcome, buddy!’ Ch-2 orbiter formally welcomed the Ch-3 LM. Two-way communication between the two is established. MOX now has more routes to reach the LM," the space agency said in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

On Sunday, ISRO announced that the lander module of Chandrayaan-3, the third lunar mission of India, is expected to touch down on the surface of the Moon around 6.04 pm on August 23.

The landing event will begin at 5.20 p.m. on Wednesday, (August 23).

"The soft landing of Chandrayaan-3 is a monumental moment that not only fuels curiosity but also sparks a passion for exploration within the minds of our youth," the ISRO said on X (formally Twitter).

Chandrayaan-3 LIVE updates: What will happen after landing?

Once the Lander Module reaches the Moon's surface, the lander Vikram will deploy its payloads. These include Chandra’s Surface Thermophysical Experiment (ChaSTE) for measuring temperature and thermal conductivity. Another payload, the Instrument for Lunar Seismic Activity (ILSA), will measure seismic activity around the landing site. The Langmuir Probe (LP) will estimate plasma density and changes. A passive Laser Retroreflector Array from NASA will be used for lunar laser studies. (Part-2)
