I get Rahul’s disappointment with TanJay, having experienced it myself. Bagaawat bhi isliye samajh aati hai.

My parents were never confrontational or rude to even a fly so I don’t connect with the crap MWG family spews. My husband and I were together for more than a decade before we even told my family but we had had a conversation in our early days that neither of us would accept any disrespect. Which is why I don’t connect with Mauli. You have a loving partner who cannot stand your disrespect but tumhe poccha banne ki aadat hai.

Something I learnt is that in an Indian family with love marriage, damaad ki problem ends with the wedding and bahu’s problems start with a wedding. Toh, fingers crossed for Mauli because Tanvi is gonna get worse, now that she’s up against the wall.

Thank you for sharing your story 🤗 You're bravery and courage to go through all of that is so commendable- I'm glad things worked out for you.

Agree with you on Mauli. She needs to either fight for her own self respect or be okay with Rahul doing it. There's only so much you can tolerate in a relationship and disrespect isn't one of them.

1000% true on the analogy between a demaad and bahu. This is real life and happens in every house. We've seen so many variations of this already on TV so I hope they don't go down the route of the typical saas-bahu saga.

There is a difference between arranged and forced marriage, no? More than half of us Indians come from austere families lekin aise toh shaadi nahi karaate! My sister/cousins rejected hundreds of guys on matrimonial sites, met a few of them and if they refused - for whatever reason - the parents accepted it. Arranged marriage means that parents figure out who you might like, not that pehle dikhe gadhe se shaadi kar lo. Chennai Express thodi na hai. And these people are educated, upper middle class-middle class people.

Uske upar se, why believe some new guy who you don’t even know instead of your own daughter?! Proof kyun chahiye tumhe? You are the court? There is literally just responsibility and familiarity between the parents and their children, not love.

See, now this would've been much more interesting for Mini. This happens quite a lot where two people just don't get along or one just doesn't like the other. But because there's not actual concrete reason for rejection, which by the way - not liking someone is a solid reason for rejection - there are so many questions. Like you have to defend your decision.

I wonder if they'll take this route with her down the line now that she's found her own voice as well.

Oh and yeah everyone who lives in the house has to have mountains of proof but someone on the outside can just cry some tears 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️ Honestly there is not faith nor trust in that family.

True that. They don't just force to marry a person just because they think it's the best suited.

Here Janki and Tanvi both did and doing the same.

The most disgusting thing is she knew Vijay is having a love marriage and she went ahead but didn't accept Manoj and Ajanta... Does that mean Ajanta was from a different sector or caste and that's why she wasn't accepted? Warna toh it doesn't make sense for Manoj to run away.

And I agree your points about asking for proof from family members. How can you trust an outsider more than your own is a big question indeed.

She believed Rati's words against Jyoti... Didn't ask for proof then.

Manoj never even told the family about Ajanta, I think. Toh mana toh kya hi karte.

Knowing what we know about these idiots now, maybe he just didn’t want to go through the hassle of proving Ajanta is bahu material or that the other woman is not suitable. (He didn’t even have Mauli then to solve his problems 😂).

Actually don’t mind his decision of leaving but his timing was so freaking wrong that he destroyed 10-15 lives at once.

ITV won’t delve into caste because that is a very ignitable issue. They generally just go for basic culture/state or rich-poor issues. That way they don’t have to give a lot of niche details. Ajanta was just modern by Aggarwal family standards, would be my best guess. Not ghoonghat pallu bahu and more sleeveless blouse bahu 😂

That's what I was also thinking earlier that Manoj didn't inform anyone at home about Ajanta and straight away got married to her...

But yesterday Janki's dialogue confused me. She said if I had agreed earlier you wouldn't have done it..😂

Her statements are so contradictory these days that I guess we should just ignore her😂

A lot of people confuse arranged and forced marriages. And the way they portray it on ITV is why most people outside of the subcontinent don’t understand the difference.
Arranged marriage is basically Tinder Ultra Max Pro with parents having more details and horoscopes and stuff. But the power is generally in the bride/groom’s hands. In fact nowadays the couple are advised to go on a few dates, communicate on the phone etc before giving any reply. This is middle class Delhi/Mumbai/Bangalore. Obviously we have stricter families around but most parents love their kids and are not going to force them into unwanted marriages.

I expect them to show such marriages happening when they want to show the family members as the villains. Like in Laado or Crime Patrol. Not when you want the audience to like the characters. 🙄

The need for proof is what gives this family drama more thriller comedy vibes 😂
Most days we are confused ki MWG hai ya Savdhaan India or CID.

I called her as having more shades than a paint catalogue yesterday, and I stand by it.
Abhi tak I haven’t understood her problem with RauLi. Mauli is a divorcee, Mauli is Manas’ ex-wife, TanJay are bigots, Mauli deserves better than their taunts as in-laws, Rahul was engaged to Rati, Rati was an innocent victim. So many reasons she could have given but she flips and flops like a noodle in the wind.

Itni confused hai ki bhagwaan se bhi jhoot bolti hai. She has a new and different reason for her hypocrisy everyday. Ramji must have a book filled with her excuses by now.

Exactly these ppl r their choice of alliances for their children can never ever be trusted. Is Ghar me Jo bhi shi hua it's only & only bcos of Rauli wrna both Mini & Manisha would've suffered former by getting married to the wrong person & the later by staying unmarried all her life. Let's not even talk about Rahul & DN that was totally forced. Inko love marriages hi karani chahiye cos arrange marriage ka ghanta kuch nhi pata in logo ko
