Firstly can someone tell me what 'Kati Patang' means please.

Priya is not exposing herself, is it her fault if there are men out there who have only one thing on their minds and think that a woman on her own is for him to take advantage of.

Priya wants to find herself, find her own identity and she wants to do it on her own. Shes vulnerable, but not so much as she was in the beginning that she will try suicide again.
This is the chance to prove to herself that she can stand on her own two feet without her husband, father or brother by her side. And if she doesnt then she will be in fear of men for the rest of her life.
Shes got the fighting spirit as shes proved before too, if she can stand up to a man like Brahma then she can easily handle this weasel.

Priya was not selfish in leaving and just because she left Aditya it doesnt mean she doesnt love him or care for him. Didnt she tell Jaggi to look after Aditya and the rest of the family. They all have each other, shes the one on her own.
If she had stayed back, even in the guest room she would have started to suffocate and the love she has for Aditya would have turned to resentment.

She stayed in Brahmas house for Aditya, now when she doesnt want to live with Aditya, whats the point in staying.

You say she was saved by others when Brahma kidnapped her, even Gaurav was kidnapped, tied up and beaten, he had to be saved too.

Whilst staying with her father she used to worry about him and Chinu, they were her weakness. Then it was Aditya. Now she is on her own, she has no one to worry about, she has to think about herself only.
And i dont think the CVs will let it go to that extent again. This is probably needed for her to prove to herself that she can do it on her own and whats the next step she has to take, remember she still doesnt know herself where shes going or what shes going to do.

Good luck to her!!!

I think everyone is entitled to his or her pov.

This is a soap and so Priya will somehow manage to come out victorious. But in real life, the fight part will be there but the victory part will be difficult to find.

It is like our Amitabh Bachchan's films where he single handedly thrashed scores of villains and in real life when he was threatened, he meekly apologized.

OH I'm understanding you PERFECTLY! Yours is the kind of prejudice & narrow minded POVs scores of women have to battle everyday.
I'm not attacking you on a personal level, but I AM taking GREAT umbrage to your disparaging views about women which YOU have chosen to post!

rightnow? Is it the 18th century that is rightnow for you? Happy time travelling-you will ultimately arrive in todaynow!!

Disparaging views about women?

lol.

Do you even know how to counter an argument without going overboard with your judgments?

Kati Patang? Without strings/independent/unattached.
Since Rajesh Khanna's eponymous film in the year of Moses- it has a derogatory tinge meaning unattached(to a male) & hence flighty young woman,

Cant men be kati patangs?

Kati Patang is a term loosely used to describe a person going directionless. Priya has intentionally broken off the strings and is trying to find a way. It maybe directionless for sometime, but ultimately a direction will be found.

Men can also experience this type of thing and the fact is there are more men in this category than women.

Not literally. But figuratively speaking.

I think you're being harsh on Priya and you're also underestimating the strength of a woman!
First of all, Priya is far from selfish. She stood by Devyani and gave her courage. She was the first one to support her, when her own son wasn't willing to do so. But how can one expect her to put her life on hold for Devyani? True, Devyani loves her like a mother to a daughter. But that doesn't mean that Priya cannot live her life. She has every right to move on, especially after what she has been through.

And to say that she has dumped Aditya- come on! Have you not been watching the show? Aditya is feeling guilty over his mistreatment of Priya. But how can one expect Priya to forgive and forget so easily? Aditya is her husband, companion. He knew that she had gone through a traumatic incident in her life. Yet he abandoned her, didn't believe her- allowed her to be humiliated. I really don't see how she is at fault if she wants her own space. She still loves Aditya. But love isn't enough to sustain a relationship.

As for running into trouble- that's life for you. Things happen and we have to learn to deal with it. Priya is not the same woman that she was before. I'm sure she will find a way out of it. Whether you're a man or a woman, trouble falls upon us all.

Perhaps thats the very reason she left the house and living all by herself in a guest house...she wants to conquer her fears, to overcome her vulnerability as a woman! She wants to prove to herself that she can face the world on her own and not in the shelter of Devyani or Aditya!

She cannot spend her life being afraid of every man, of every stranger...that way she wont be able to function. Shes been molested twice by the same man, now she wants to NOT be a victim anymore but find her inner strength and face the world as just Priya and not Mrs Aditya Jakhar!

Also...She HAD to leave that house, dont forget that house still belongs to Brahmanand Jakhar the man who tried to rape her TWICE! How can she bear to live in that house anymore? And also how could she live in the same house as Adi after he vowed to divorce her for the sake of his father?

You are right Pallavi, the first time it was Adi who said to her he would always protect her and make sure the person paid for what he did etc..but then the opposite happened she obviously realised this is something she has to overcome herself she can not depend on anyone else to make it better she has to do it herself and by this process she will also be able to find herself again as she mentioned to Devyani she needs to find the old priya again
