Did Draupadi love Arjun the most? Yes. Did Arjun love Draupadi the most? Yes.

Why, you ask? Because Mummy told me so when I was a child. 😉

yes. It is obvious fact . But not every one will have the good fortune of proper guidance in childhood, like you have,,from your mother. This is for such people who are prejudiced and blind regarding their mutual love.

Vedvyasa continues his usage of the word Yuva even further. In virataparva,Draupadi comes to Bheem when she is harassed by Kichak, desperately enamoured by her beauty. Then she expresses her sorrow on seeing the state of Arjun as Brihannala in Virat's harem. She refers to him as viratasya kanyanam nartako Yuva , twice in her speech. That youthful Arjuna is spending his time as a dancer i for virata's daughter. She also describes him as Parivritam kanyabhih devarupinam. Dhananjaya, who possessed the form of a God is always surrounded by girls. So why is the author stressing again and again on Arjun's youthfulness certainly deserves to be analysed. Yudhishthir said so, Draupadi refers so , it substantiates the possibility of considerable age gap between him and his brothers. By using the word Devarupinam vyasa suggests his beauty as devine. Draupadi also expresses her concern for his curly hair getting spoilt due to growing it long and braided in plait, Venikrita kesantam. We call it split ends now. So on the whole much stress is laid on his youthfulness, curly hair and charming face and not to forget his great physique.

Udyogaparva also presents Arju in all his youthful splendour when he was with krishna, Draupadi, and Satyabhama at the time of Sanjaya's visit to their private mansion. Sanjay describes even the auspicious lines on the feet of Partha thus. Urdhvarekhatalau Padau Parthasya subhalakshanau padapithadapahritau ...Subhau When Arjuna withdrew his feet from the footstool. Sanjana observed auspicious marks on both his soles. There are two longitudinal lines running from heel to fore toe.So according to this description, Arjun 's charm not only is limited to physical appearance but also possessed auspicious signs. The two krishnas as described by Sanjaya are dark, tall and youthful. Syamau brihantau Tarunau...when Arjun placed krishna's feet on the footstool from his lap, Sanjay saw his hand that has every auspicious mark on it.Subhalakshanam padamanayan, Parthah kesavam samachodayat. So head to toe he is perfect in every way and the youthful ness factor continues on and on.

On the fourteenth day of the battle(Drona parv), when Arjun pierces the Sakata vyuh, and enters the great Kaurava army Yudhi sends Satyaki to assist him. After sometime as there is no news of Arjun, yudhi approaches Bheema and asks him to go and assist his brother. Here again Ved Vyasa describes Arjun through yudhi thus. Syamo, Yuva, gudakeso,Darsaniyo maharathah.vyudhoraskau, mahabahu,...chakoranetrastamrasyo...Dark complexioned, youthful, curly haired ,handsome, possessed with great arms, broad chest ,eyes that are similar to chakora, face and lips red in colour .. The description certainly makes Arjun stand out as the most charming hero apart from Krishna. The fact that the author gave much importance to the description of his looks also despite singing his outstanding valour needs to be noticed and understood.

[/Draupadi is described in the Mahabharata as being extraordinarily beautiful, one of the most beautiful women of her time. "Of eyes like lotus-petals and of faultless features endued with youth and intelligence, she is extremely beautiful. And the slender-waisted Draupadi of every feature perfectly faultless, and whose body emitteth a fragrance like unto that of the blue lotus for two full miles around who's existence could take away people's breath, she was the most beautiful woman ever born.".[7]QUOTE]

Eye-ravishing Panchali, black and-half-smiling eyes, entrancing and radiant with rather haughty glow ... Soft eye-lashes; standing tall, with well formed swelling breasts; narrow waist like the middle of the sacred Vedi; plantain-stalk like smooth, round, firm shapely thighs; fingers and toes like champak petals; the new-born moon like shining coppery carved nails; palms and foot soles like fresh red lotuses; pearl like teeth; a playful smile that put the lightening to shame. Like an image sculpted by the world's most gifted artist, neither short nor tall, neither dark nor pale;with unblemished beauty of face and matching loveliness of graceful figure ; smooth-skinned fragrant like the lotus , with long wavy dark-blue hair of serpentine loveliness , like the waves of the ocean that could imprison the breeze into stillness ; eyes like autumn-lotus leaves; ... Her unblemished beautiful sweat-bathed face is lovely, like the blue lotus, like the jasmine; ... She is extraordinarily accomplished, soft-spoken and gentle... the intoxicating blue-lotus fragrance of her body delude even the bees. In her presence the tree leaves stilled for a moment; and, the fires flared but silently. She was a dream incarnated of gods and men alike." (Adi Parva 169.44-46; Sabha 65.33-37 )

According to the Mahabharat and the Puranas, It is said that if there was any one woman just as beautiful and virtuous as Draupadi was, it was Rukmini.

. Namaste, nice to see another Arjun Draupadi admirer. Yes. Arjun's hair is curly and obviously shoulder length as it used to be in those days. Ved Vyas always described him Syamo Yuva Gudakeso Darsaniyo Mahabhujah. Dark, youthful with curly hair handsome with mighty arms. You must have followed the description which I gave Parva wise . He is tall, dark handsome. His hair must be long only. In Virat parv he is described with very long hair as he is in the guise of Brihannala. Even Draupadi feels bad before Bheema that his hair has been spoilt, due to his plaiting ang tying it up. Veniviktita kesantah she says. She even mentioned spit ends. In Karna Parv Karn releases nagastr which has Aswasen who want to take revenge on Arjun and Arjun's kirit will be burnt. It is described that Arjun tied up a white cloth on his hair and Vyasa describes him thus. Vina Kiritam susubhe sa parthah Syamo,Yuva nila ivochasringah. Without Kirit that dark, youthful Arjun shone like Nilagiri mountain.Tatah samudgrathya sitena vasasa...Then he tied up his hair with white cloth and started to fight again. Here we can assume that he would'nt have tied up his hair if it is short. Since his kirit which used to control his hair is burnt he has to tie up his hair that must be atleast shoulder length. So much stress is given on his youthfulness and curly hair. Yes sometimes I call him Arju. Out of excessive love. You gave very apt description of Draupadi which is perfect. As for her complexion, she is dark like Arjun and Krishna. At the time of her birth itself she is described Kumari chap I Panchali,...Subhaga,Darsaniyangi. ...Syama Padmapalasakshi...She is Syama dark That is why she is krishnaa. The three krishnas shine throughout. Krishna,Arjuna,Draupadi. Good luck for your work also.Do share your views.
