Kavita Chibber is a famous freelance journalist

Both Sita and Draupadi* have been used to depict the woes of women , they're used so because they were famous and people would read it and who knows would even strive to get justice for the victims.

(Not meaning to say that they didn't face difficulties)

I don't think if Draupadi is said she was never a mother should be taken literally and don't worry she was a good mother .

In epic we have a couple of references wrt her as "mother of Sutasoma"

Arjun returns from Indraloka and lovingly bestows the jewels on 'mother of Sutasoma'

If we fast forward into Drona parva we get to know that Sutasoma had earned renown in assembly of Somakas and was a ruler of Udeyandu city

Coming to flashback Drau being called mother of Sutasoma might be this reference only - he had made his mother proud! She is called so another couple of times so Sutasoma was her favorite son among her own children 😊 So the favorite husband☺️ gave her jewels and her favorite son gave her good news⭐️

Drau had special love for other children as well ; Skanda puran has stories galore of her and her sons

Abhimanyu fighting in Chakravyuha says to Dushy that "drawing blood out of you today, I will repay the debt I owe to the sinless (mother) Panchali"

In Karaga puran the story of Ambasura (son of Parvati) and Aravan/Iravan guard the doors of Draupadi amman temple because of special reverence to Draupadi their mother

not taking away her sorrow, Draupadi to a large extent overcame all that and led a life worth emulating!
I mean to stay positive in the face of such sorrow and continue being a source of inspiration..only she could have done that!
