It is true, that Star Plus has given a lot of emphasis on Lord Krishna and Draupadi's friendship, compared to the epic, however, there are some moments in the epic, which makes it quite clear, that indeed they had a Sakha-Sakhi relationship...

this actually reminds me as per the epic when do krishna ji and draupadi actually become friend's?i have always wondered this

i mean up until the swyambar they don't really meet .I guess they meet only after draupadi's marriage to the pandvas and once krishna ji starts spending more time with pandvas like during formation of IP,planning of rajsuya yajna etc is when their bond of friendship is formed.I dont think they knew each other from before that?i mean i am asking this as a question since i have always been confused about it

They both make their first MB appearance at the swayamvar in the epic. I have heard that she looked to Krishna for guidance when Karna took up the bow (not a SP creation) and he shakes his head. That actually implies a pre existing strong friendship

The Pandavs meet both at the swayamvar according to epic. I guess with living in forest and then in gurukul Pandavs didn't really get time to meet maternal cousins.
