I think the 'mother' in Kunti was wrong when we're talking about Karna. Sometimes I wonder, why, if Krishna already knew who Karna really was, never disclosed it until the end and make him sit on the throne instead of Yudhishtir. Why he never raised the fact that the throne actually belongs to him, instead of asking him to fight for the Pandavas.
So was Kunti silent because she really wanted to save her skin or was there any other reason? Mahabharat is so complicated, I personally believe she did injustice to her first born, she killed the mother in her for Karna to save her grace.

No Kunti was not at fault according to me. Whatever she is blamed for is her character traits. Curiosity...was wrong in her! But after the mistake was done.. What could she have done? Medha had a thread on this (Suryadev Rishi and abandonment). And a mother can ask her son to change his way. Kunti was just trying to avoid the war, because as Gandhari said in some recent episode, Angraj was a big power against Arjuna from Kauravs side! Kunti asked him to join the Pandavs for his good and to avoid the war. I don't find something very wrong in it.

No Brishti.. you should check citation in previous pages.. the one in bold was not her intention.. she clearly says why she approaches him and it was nothing to do with avoiding war or Karna's wellness..

Medha's post was only about abandonment.. which I dont think is what many are finding fault with.. it was an excusable mistake..

i dont believe kunti was at fault there is always circumstances u shd keep in mind & at tht tym it was impossible 4 her t reveal the truth & telling karna the truth was krishna's idea & he did the first half of telling him the truth & kunti only completed it so kunti was nt at fault but unfortunately karna had to suffer his whole life which really is very sorrowful bt everythng was already determined no one cud change it.

i cant blame Kunti completely, well i can say it was a flaw in her character, she might have thought of the questions she had to face from the society wen she reveals truth of karna, and i believe even now she wouldn't have said to karna had vasudev not asked her to. may be she lacked support in her life, someone who cud hav advised her and asked her to tell the world that karna was her son. may b if only she had a support she would have said earlier. her silence was her mistake but its not her fault coz she was never at peace with this silence of hers.

i think kunti made not a mistake but committed a sin by keeping mum ok in young age she made mistake she couldn't keep karna with her but she could leave her in a ashram like menka did to shakuntala (and sons of sages are more respectable than princes in society of that time) or can say she found the child abandoned n let her father deciding what to do with the baby but she simply floated him not caring for the child's life n even if she knew that karna is alive n being adopted by a suta she didn't care about the consequence she kept mum to see all his insult n enmity between him n arjun
n at last when she came to him it was only to save her five son's life although karna said he will not spare arjun but that was becoz he had already took the oath n arjun too did follow bheem's oath but i really doubt karna was really willing to kill arjun anymore

There was one long thread about that several months ago, which tried to shift the blame from a teenage Kunti to the likes of Surya & Durvasa. Conclusion there was that Durvasa did tell her what would happen - how's he to blame for Kunti assuming that he may not have given her the real deal? And Surya - how is he to blame if a mantra pulls him to the girl who chants it and forces him to impregnate her?
