I dont think it is mentioned in KMG.. i raised this earlier, no answers have I got..

Pandavas were in IP for atleast 30 years - Subhadra and Arjun were married for 18 years - I dont get why they will have a kid of 3 years during dice game..

People usually rant about how a kid got slayed by those 'cruel' warriors, seems like he wasn't really a kid, Any citations on when Abhimanyu was born?m like any significant event prior or after his birth from which we can determine his approx age.

According to KMG, the only condition for 13th year is that it should be an inhabited region. So, even in Matsya Desa, there are so many inhabited places. Or is it that they will get protection only in a palace? Or to make a grand entry if the Kauravas attack?

@The Watcher, checking in the warrior in what context? If you mean like, "Jayadratha checked the Pandavas entry into the Chakravyuha" means he stopped them.

These are the words of Bhima to Yudishtra on the first year of exile.. he includes Abhimanyu in the list of people who are unhappy about the exile.. for sure he is not talking about a 3 year old toddler..

This thy abode, O king, in the woods, like that of any wild animal, is what a man of weakness alone would submit to. Surely, no man of might would ever lead such a life. This thy course of life is approved neither by Krishna, nor Vibhatsu, nor by Abhimanyu, nor by the Srinjayas, nor by myself, nor by the sons of Madri.

We cant be sure that Abhimanyu was born before Kandavadaha.. Abhimanyu's and Upapandava birth is merely mentioned as the conclusion of Subhadraharana parva.. Kandavadaha parva is not continued from there but goes still backwards..

"Vaisampayana said, 'The Pandavas, after they had taken up their abode at Indraprastha at the command of Dhritarashtra and Bhishma began to bring other kings under their sway. All the subjects (of the kingdom) lived most happily depending upon Yudhishthira the just, like a soul living happily depending upon a body blest with auspicious marks and pious deeds"

Checking as in, Every warrior checked Abhimanyu, Here is an sample quote

' Then many grateful and mighty warriors, having Duryodhana's good at heart, and always graced with victory, inspired with fear, surrounded thy son. And Drona, and Drona's son, and Kripa and Karna and Kritavarman and Suvala's son, Vrihadvala, and the ruler of the Madras, and Bhuri, and Bhurisravas, and Sala, and Paurava and Vrishasena, shooting sharp shafts, checked Subhadra's son by means of those arrowy showers

Abhimanyu in return checked them again. It has been used quite a number of times in KMG

Ya, so this means they stopped his progress. But they failed, because he relatilated and in turn stopped their progress on the battlefield. Basically checking means to create obstacles for a warrior.

Yeah, Indraprastha was annexed to Hastinapur.

Question - does anybody know which descendant of the Pandavas moved the capital back from Hastinapur to Indraprastha? I do know that at some point in time, it happened.
