and you are wrong about the 12th and 13th year sequence.

😆😆😆 That is not my POV but from the translation of KMG. And no am not wrong

I had PM-ed Medha the citation to not affect the purpose of the thread.. If you need it, post the question in doubts and discussion thread..

You still did not offer a valid reason why he got routed twice on the same day by Arjun, inspite of the fabled Shakti weapon.

What about Gandharva war? He admits quite plainly, 'I was sorely wounded by arrows.'
Now what happened to that armor? Do you mean to say this incident too happened in 13th year?

What reason will be considered a valid answer? I can give my assumption and I cant say I can convince you. Please be informed that I know when the Gandharva war happened. btw as I said earlier this is not the place to discuss these so dont expect any more reply from me if you plan to continue the discussion here.

I am not doubting your knowledge of the sequence of events. I am just pointing out the obvious discrepancies about the mythical armor. On that note, the defense rests its case too.

I loved the book...it is quite though provoking. I have loved the part where he discusses Duryodhana.

On a different note I must admit that I have love starbharat because their interpretation appeals to my logical mind. Over years I have struggled to understand the inaction of kuru elders, I have failed to understand Shakuni's clout over Hastinapur or even Yudhishtra's stand in many events. Star Bharat gives us a logical explanation though it tarnishes their image a little. The problem probably lies in absolutes as someone else stated. The common argument is that there is danger in changing with times since nothing is sacred anymore and every principle is up for compromise. Somethings should be held constant to define benchmark.

I like Starbharat's interpretation that what should be held constant is a sense of justice, knowledge that we all are linked to each other and actions have consequences and finally emotion of compassion...everything else is dependent on circumstances.

Hi Ashwini, yes I have. I am a Mahabharata fan and try to devour anything related to it. Durga Bhagwat was a renowned scholar; but I do disagree with her on many points. She writes more like a fan than an analyzer. In that respect, Irawati was much more dispassionate and incisive.

@Shindes...is there an English or Hindi translation of Vyasparva?
