There is a misunderstanding... we feel that Pandva took revenge on Kaurav... but that is not true...
Shree Krishna explained the difference between "Justice" and "Revenge" in detail...
Revenge is "bad karma"
and Justice is "good karma"
Humans like Duryodhan, Dussasan, Karn and others are fond of Revenge so they always do "bad karma" for this reason they get punishment.
Duryodhan's attitude was "I shall insult everybody but nobody can insult me"
Shakuni's attitude was "I shall cheat everybody but nobody can cheat me"
Karn's attitude was "I am the best and nobody can beat me"
So these are "bad karma" and Shree Krishna never supports revenge...
He advised Pandav to bring "Justice"
The act of Revenge is very selfish and self-centered; a person always thinks of himself.
But the act of Justice is for the welfare of others and therefore Selfless. Pandav thought about everyone; not only for themselves.
That is why Pandav didn't take revenge... with the help of Shree Krishna they brought Justice to the whole Aryavrat...
Shree Krishna could have ended the the whole Kaurav army within 1 minute but to compose Gita and to bring Justice to the entire Aryavrat... He used His intelligence to bring Justice
So... the Kurukshetra war was a "Dharmayudh" not "revenge"...
Revenge is a third-graded human feeling...
Justice is Ishwar... So... Shree Krishna brought Justice to finish the entire evil force by using His intelligence so that the next generation learns to use intelligence to bring Justice to society...

Did you know ? that Ekalavya was actually Krishna's cousin. He was the son of Devashrava (brother of Vasudeva) who got lost in the forest and was found by a Nishada Hiranyadhanu. Ekalavya died protecting his father during Rukmini swayamvar. He was killed by Krishna. For his great sacrifice of Gurudakshina Krishna blessed Ekalavya that he would be soon reincarnated and take revenge on Drona .
