Vichi was captured by Panchala as he burnt the crops. Prishata was joyful as he got an opportunity to capture Vichi due to his action. He was about to kill him when Bheeshma arrived to rescue Vichi.

Then Prishata picked up a sword to attack them..Bheeshma was alert, he pushed him on the mud. 😆
Then Prishata got up and claimed that someone will take birth in Panchala, to be the reason of his death.

In reality, Prishata was a pretty virtuous king. He was friends w/ Drona's father Bharadwaj, and entrusted Drupada to his gurukul - that's where the temporary friendship b/w Drona & Drupada started. I also read in Dr RC Majumdar's The Vedic Age that Prishata was dethroned, but reinstated to his throne by Bheeshma. That would explain why Drupada & Pandu were friends as well.

This particular connection striked my mind a few minutes ago. We all saw how Kunti was eager to reveal Karna's real identity to him after she spotted him on the Rangbhoomi. She was stopped midway by Priyamvada, her maid. The latter appeared several times before too, to tie some black sutra (Forgot the exact term) to avoid her reveal the truth of Karna to Pandu. Hence Kunti's maid monitored all her actions, especially those that were related to her first born.
So..the blame shifts on Priyamvada here..she's the scapegoat without a doubt. Kunti escaped quite easily...

Next one is Drupada. The creative factory turned him into a villain initially...to make him their future scapegoat. 😆
Be it Draupadi's marriage or approaching miseries...he'll be blamed as he only demanded it from the devas. Just like Priyamvada, he had no such association with the kind of accusation he'll have to bear now.
