Episode 581 Discussion: 23rd May 2014, Friday.

Welcome to the Episode discussion thread which we call as Viewer's and Reader's Respite. That's very apt, don't you think ? 😉. And that proves our objective.

Objective behind the thread is
  1. It helps in keeping the forum clean without much litter.
  2. We can have it like breathers at first followed by analysis.
  3. It also helps like-minded souls and pals bond and gel together to drop in their thoughts for themselves as breathers and for their friends as a peep into the episode and for others to post their reviews.
  4. And those from different time-zones, who do not get to watch the episode at this time of telecast (Indian 8:30 PM), without any worry to trace or keep track of all their buddy's posts, they can come here, read with leisure and later post their analysis after watching it from their Time zones.

Note for All posting reviews and thoughts over this EDT

Please read the pointers below for posting on EDT.

Extremist thoughts and moralizing thoughts are not welcome over this thread. This is anentertainment show we are watching. The channel calls their programs as entertainment and we are watching the show. Discussions are welcome in light hearted and in realistic manner. Moral policing is not appreciated. Neither is ranting or bashing actors or makers of the show. Please exercise judgment.

Please heed to this as direct request and conditional requirement to participate in this thread.
  1. Page 1 - post only reviews (which can be one liners - if you wish.) Also, please don't clutter up page 1 with multiple posts - give others a chance to post their reviews.
  2. Many reviewers add an "ETA" to their original post, if they want to make an additional point soon after posting.
  3. Do not litter the thread with chit-chat conversations. A little is permitted to have the friendly atmosphere, but when you feel like chatting more and the discussion becomes irrelevant to the topic on hand, please take your conversation with your buddies to chat clubs, pm mode etc.
  4. The thread becomes a mess when you give your review and do not REST for sometime until others have posted. Please understand, respites or reviews; once or twice are good for few pages...don't make a regular chat thread with your reiterating /whining / complaining on the same point. For the online readers, the thread becomes unpleasant read. There is a separate Complaints thread in Main Forum
  5. When episodic content is emotional, take a deep breath, give a good lengthy review; that acts as your vent in one single post...and make an exit to calm down your nerves if you still are possessed by only what you've seen.
  6. Regulate the font size and colors. Keep remembering that. It is really not pleasing to see big bolded letters, or multi-colored font for no special reason.
  7. Quoting Policy: refrain from single, double, triple and multiple quoting of posts on a repetitive basis. Pick out the parts that you like to quote as opposed to quoting the entire post. IF has a rule that more than three times quoting is not allowed. But nowadays as people read IF posts over phone, and multiple quoting makes it very hard to scroll though.
  8. Feel free to post links of other members posts which had been "delightful read" towards analysis of episodic event/s or character analysis.

the DVD scenes were quite good...rest were blah !

can't believe they wasted 15 mins on Dauji, Baiji , woh bhi, Baiji walking in slow motion , keeping the glass and talking...whatever the point of argument was, i didn't get it..sab Dauji ki marzi se chalega but woh hai kya marzi?

I liked Raja Madhu scene A LOT..Madhu tried everything with him but he is not getting her through...he was trying to distract her and she broke down...

well, i am against any kind of physical violence so the slap was totally uncalled for...this is not the way to behave...but may be, this was necessary to wake up Raja and make him realize how he has been treating his wife from so long...still, i'd prefer if they don't show such things...whether it's husband slappling the wife or vice versa, it makes me uneasy...

in the precap, why is Madhu feeling shocked?

PS DVD looked like a divine couple in the window scene.

Oke the episode was overall nice...
1) the first scene between dauji, baiji and raja ws a bit dragged...but it ws also necessary to shw the conflict happning in the house...baiji is scared fr the future of her daughter Tara since raja hav treatened to shoot Bhanu twice in frnt of family...raja enters the room and tre will be a minor tiff between him and baiji...raja made it clear tht if bhanu evn looks at madhu again thn he will shoot him down...dauji atlast rises his voice and tells tht in tis family he will decide how thing shud move on...

2) Raja - Rani scene...Tis was tht bst part...plz plz plz watch it...bcz i cannot explain it...the scene ws tht beautiful...and DVD...thy looked lextremely gorgeouly beautiful...i hav never seen a couple soo beautiful in my entire life...JM broke down and we got RK sad version "phir kyun har pal" of hum hai deewane and i was taken to RK world completly...i ws soo much reminded of RK...

3) Last scene was the much discussed controversial slap...Raja hav apparently found the murderer of his father, mther and veer...he ws beating the lif out of tht guy and JM stops him...out of anger in slaps her...I can somewht undrstnd y he slapped considering his jungli nature...thse who tak it in tht manner will find it fine...others may nt enjoy it...But i am sure raja will hav to pay a huge price for this slap...

After yesterday's episode, this was like the calm 'after' the storm. Obviously the aftermath of the incident has had a ripple effect on the family..so much so that Baaiji protests against Dauji😆. Ahaan, Baaiji, sangat ka asar...bahurani ki sangat 😆
Sad that ultimately Baaji does not consider Raja her own. One could not make out what was Dauji's POV. He knew what happened with Madhu was wrong. He also knew that what Raja did was wrong. Obviously, the family 's honour is more important. But what was the hesitation, he didn't want to encourage Raja by indicating his displeasure at what happened with his wife?? Or he fired from his wife's shoulder and then shut her up conveniently??? Ranked: 2/5

Scene:Raja and Madhu - she wants to leave. At this point, I do sympathise with her. For once, Madhu's dialogues were good! She breaks down, and wants to get back to Mumbai. Raja for once is at a loss for words. He is caught between his family and his wife. Ranked 4/5

Sleepless night for both till Raja disappears on a mysterious errand. So now we reach the crux..he has found his parents murderers!!

I was disappointed, I expected some great conspiracy, it was just a business rival..??? Tchaah!!🤢

So Jm with her pallu intact (Leela...this one's for you👍🏼), tries to stop him, and she gets a resounding slap. Ranking: 1/5

I do not endorse violence, and yes it is the norm in Raja's family ...the only method to control the lugaai. but it left an unease. It is never easy to watch ...despite the fact that it has happened last month with Madhu, the erstwhile SuperStar no less, not a junglee, or country bumpkin. However I have to add, so far, whenever Madhu has been tortured, the perpetrator has received his punishment, almost immediately. This time, it is Raja..and it is his turn to receive his lessons in karma !!

Little detail: Both Dauji and Raja tried to brush aside the insults meted out to Bhanu and Madhu, by distracting them, Dauji with his jokes and Raja by trying to tell her he cares! But in vain.

Felt bad for madhu when she is crying, begging him to leave her..send her away from the house.. For a second I wished Raja to send her back..

THAT scene was excellent..frankly the best scene of Raja and madhubala so far 👏 👏👏

Raja could not see her in pain..he was helpless at the moment.. and madhu was fed up with all this..her tears says it all..I could not explain the situation so aptly like you guys here..but I can say this remains best of Rajbala scenes

Return of the BG "phir kyu har pal" was my favourite.. "mera rhom rhom kyu jalaa" was the best one in it.. was perfect for the situation.

Excellent portrayal by drashti and vivian..take a bow guys 👏👍🏼

I somehow feel the village track is reaching its climax..A grand climax with Kaali maa temple and with loads of action and some after scenes..

The slap..will Raja now realise the feelings of madhu!!?? I seriously wish so

PS:Madhu can never fit in there!!I need Raja to realise her true feelings and get her out of here..Its better if they dont show madhu teaching them the right way of treatment for women..For doing so first she has to accept living there..I dont think its possible in current situation

A wonderful episode following on the heels of the high-octane drama of yesterday...
I am exceptionally happy with the CVs now...take a bow Team MEIEJ...the characters are awesome !

So after the adrenaline rush of yesterday, today was a day of angst, pain, helplessness and further racking emotions...

Okay I am gonna speak in term of the characters...

Madhu - Singled out and insulted before everyone in the jashn has broken her strength temporarily...she will bounce back sure...but this night she is vulnerable and totally drowned in misery...from her words we find she thinks her life is like a darkness...she sees no possible happiness in this place where women are devalued and only the might of power has any say...when Raja appears, she tries to share her pain...tell him that she sees only darkness...but all he is concerned about is her beauty and his feelings for her...that is the last straw for her...she breaks ...and tells him that his love sounds like a gaali to her...tries to tell him that she has been objectified into an object of captivity and ridicule now...when her pain finds no solace within Raja, she asks him to kill her...or free her...and breaks down...

Yet she is unable to see that Raja is trying whatever he knows to do to stand beside her...it is her prejudice at work here...she may be right about his actions but she has his intentions all wrong.
Further more, she leaps to stop Raja without knowing the cause...in her mind she has already seen him kill a man ...she does not want that stain on his soul again...this is her nature...too much humanitarian ...too much a follower of human justice...sadly Raja does not understand any justice except death.

Raja - In his own words to baiji he explained that his Dauji had taught him the language of guns and bullets, so speaks only those words now...he is riding high on his taaqat...a veritable wild and raw beast...and as they say a beast runs on pure instinct and not emotion...so does Raja...to Taiji his instinct to protect his mate, his wife comes to the forefront...
But alas his wife is a human being and not a beast like him...so his instincts cannot help him here...to him, he has already exacted revenge for the insult to his wife...its a matter over and done with...again he has not considered the emotional ramifications of such an event ...shows in how he is openly admiring Madhu...speaking of her beauty when she speaks of her pain...practically drooling on her and trying to get close...Raja is unable to emotionally connect with Madhu...even when Madhu calls his love a gaali, he does not realize how big a farce his love has turned out when the person he loves calls his love an insult...

He is still lost in his love...trying to make her see he cannot help it...she is his and that is all he knows...and that is enough for him to call it love...so he asks what else can he do for her...he is already fighting the entire world for her...again he is lost when she pleads for death or freedom...he is helpless as both will take her away from him and that he cannot allow...like the wild animal he is currently, he is unable to offer any comfort to her...he can fight for her, but he cannot make her happy...on an instinctual level he cannot see his mate unhappy but on an emotional level he has no knowledge of how to comfort her...

He reminds me of a big scary dog I saw in a house once...the child of the house was crying and this dog was pacing restlessly around the child, whimpering and growling...unable to pacify her and unable to sit quiet...Raja is exactly like that ...madhu is not wrong at all to call him a jungli...

And the very next scene...Raja's wildness is unleashed again...its not just the murder of his family...its a culmination of all the present and past frustrations that he is taking out savagely on that man...and in his mad rush to use the only language of violence that he knows he ends up slapping the hell out of his wife...the slap was painful and frankly out of line...the slap was also a confirming proof that this beast knows not how to calm his rage and rawness...first the thrests of cutting heads and tongues to JM, then the near strangling and now this direct slap...Raja has no control what so ever on his rage and power...no one till now has ever been able to leash him...it makes him the wild n free lion of the jungle...but in a human world...this lion is a painted target ...unless he learns to leash himself when needed, he will be destroying his own jungle...
Raja is a wild storm...and only a bigger storm will be able to shake him up from his notions of savagery.
A real ANTIHERO !!! I must say RK's issues were nothing compared to Raja...Raja has a long road ahead of him...All I will say is...I refuse to treat Raja as some hero ! He is an antihero! He will do Anti things, wrong things at times. So I refuse to see him with rosetinted glasses as asimple angry young man...he is NOT a MIlls and Boons hero...he is a grey character who deserves to be treated as such !

Baiji - She may love Raja, but she loves her own blood children more...khoon khoon hota hai...already last epi proved that Baiji was silently trying to teach JM a lesson in humility with her intervention over the Sarhaj mazzak matter...it is bothering her to see Raja taking up arms against the suhaag of her daughter...but it isnt bothering her to see Bhanu humiliating the wife of her so-called son...slowly the true loyalties of everyone are coming out...

Tauji - I must say I am liking the old man more n more everyday...he is wise but flawed...he may be the elder but he has not yet realized that he has lost the mantle of ruler of household for sometime now...it shows in the way he is hesitant to take prompt action in the celebration..it shows even today when he silently kept listening to his family argue until he could no longer bear it...he is trapped in the dilemma that every old man feeling his years faces in a joint family...how to control the family which is tearing itself apart...
He shouts about him making the decisions in the family and he wont allow it torn apart...but it is clearly seen that the reins of the family have slipped from his wrinkled fingers...and now the two young males of the house are fighting over those reins...consciously on subconsciously.

Again Tauji trying to make Bhanu unite with Raja...he wants his males to be a team...and to him too JM is being a thorn in that now.

Bhanu - The villain boiling in a stew of anger, humiliation and resentment...potent mix for a dastardly deed ahead...Tauji underestimating Bhanu...instead of allowing him to vent his anger and prevent any future disaster, Tauji wanting Bhanu to digest the incident and cool off...bad idea.

Precap - A confrontation ahead...Waiting eagerly for it.

PS- sorry for the essay.

I have to add, the disconnect between Raja and Madhu was so so apparent. It was so sad. I wanted madhu to leave and Raja to stay with his family. I mean, there was this huge pit in my heart, will these two ever be able to get together? Can they ever stay together? And suddenly one felt maybe it was better for them to separate. A huge round of applause to DVD for bringing this across, effectively. Raja was so confused and disturbed. While Madhu was just plain done. No mood to compromise, in fact begging him to let her go.

Scene of the day was Raja and Madhu's convo, Madhu's breakdown in tears, begging to let her go and Raja is in pain, wanted to hold Madhu's hand and backed up, the BG "mera rhom rhom keu jalha" left me in tears!😭

Love and hate always have their own moment when love and hate can make you cry!

If someone is not giving recognition to her relation, she is not going to show any respect to that relation.

With broken heart I wish Raja let Madhu go!

They are from two world, something is "majaak" for them while that is her self esteem!

Slapping is keeping wife in control for Raja's family, whereas slapping is a physical abuse for madhu!

But at least today Madhu showed some respect to the relation by putting her pallu in front of Taujii.

Slapping Madhu was understandable with unacceptance. I'm totally against physical abuse, no matter what! madhu tried to stop him was understandable too, she already repulsed Raja for AK keeling!

Overall the episode was good and some parts were very touching!

Dauji knew that the situation had got out of hand because he - so very vocal about his chauvinistic ideas - had permitted his wife to persuade him to not stop Bhanu.
His power and position were slighted in the humiliation of his bahu being coerced to dance, and then the same for his son-in-law.
He made amends for not stopping Bhanu from making mockery of the family's bahu for a dance, by not stopping Raja in making a mockery of Bhanu.

But in his repeated glares at his wife in their room was the raging ego that held him silent.
He has always taken pride in not listening to women.
So he could not howl that everything that went wrong at the party was because he *did* listen to his wife this time and didn't stop Bhanu's 'joking' conduct with the new bahu.
He could not admit it aloud to her even in private, and most assuredly not even imply it in front of Raja.

Madhu's pallu is in place today in front of the family and servants, thanks be for CVs mercies and the girl finally shown grasping the situation and context.
But unless the family holds another celebration and invites back all the guests, and the new bahu is wearing the pallu there in her family-elders presence, there's no other way to undo the damage from her non-pallu disgusted presence in front of the family-elders at the welcome-party.
Anyway, better late than never.

From her words to Raja, it was clear that she actually believed that she had been the one insulted first in the party, with a clear unawareness of the extent of insult she had unknowingly given to Raja's uncle and aunt before that by keeping the pallu down when even the daughters of the house are expected to wear it to show respect for the family and the elders.
If Dauji, in the presence of the family, gives her permission to not wear the pallu - including or excluding the other young women of the family -, then after that it would no longer have the nonverbal public disrespect perception.

The situation leading up to the slap seemed tailored specifically so that the slap could happen, so that the couple could then interact further on that point.

But her leaping in to stop the violence with no idea what was going on was damn confounding.
She could react if she were expected to be violent, and say that she would rather suffer whatever harm and insult rather than be violent even in self-defense.
But intruding like this is a bit difficult.
When AK was slapping her, she was justifiably and properly pleased and proud at her husband Raju beating him up.
But even if she has not been the victim this time, Raja may have some equally or more valid reason for violence. Nor is she the only valid reason he may have for physically attacking someone.
If Raja were an uncontrolledly violent man, he could have arranged a situation which would have caused the demise of AK, Leelawati and Sweety as co-tormentors, rather than only AK.

So if he is reacting in violence here, with several other men who would be happy to take up the slack if he backs off, then her insistently asking him to back off serves no actual purpose.

Presumably this was so that she finds out that his first major violence that she witnessed was to avenge her and himself, and his second is to avenge his parents, brother and himself.

Hopefully they do kill the business-opponent, and don't leave him needlessly alive to take the blame for Bhanu's upcoming sneaky backstabbing murder-attempt.😳

No idea whether JM's next escape-run is going to be before Raja's "bash my head in with a stick" offer, or before the puja or after that.😕
Wonder if it'll at least be in clear daylight, with less bother of mosquitoes and pebbled landscape exacerbated by actual night during shoot.😒
