Honestly, I liked RK's hyper response to RJ's decision to leave for Delhi. What I like is that even though Rishbah is highly insecure, RK is able to protect his family n face the world with full on attitude. He is like a rock to his wife n mom! This is what I like the best in him. He can be a loving, doting, caring, pampering, indulgent son n a husband but then can also be demanding, stubborn, throwing tantrums the next minute. Since the day he has come to terms with his love n respect for his wife n mom respectively, he has never disappointed them in any way. Be it getting slapped by his mom without uttering a word, or publically apologizing to his wife.

In my opinion, Madhu convincing him to listen to his mom was not too bad, may be she just wanted him to listen to her before getting aggressive. Madhu doesn't care about her own mom, when she is with RK. So her not stopping RJ didnt surprise me. Tat doesn't mean she doesn't care about her, but it's just that she has tunnel vision when she is with RK. And she doesn't hold on to her relationships the way RK does; only exception being Rk. Their craziness for each other always gives me hope about the two, no matter wat Dipali says or tat sleazebag bhai does (he still seems to be eyeing madhu)
And we know the two crazies mean business when they make a claim or accept a challenge. Yes, there might be misunderstandings, but no major separation or third angles. There is an undying attraction between the two.. Both physical n emotional.. They are addicted to each other.

@red : this is exactly what i felt...i wasnt surprised when madhu didn't ask rji about delhi...n i like that she was convincing rk to listen to rji...it shows that she respects her MIL's wishes and also she came back to rk to pacifiy him...and also she knew something was bothering him so she asked him "kya baat hai rk?" she got the insecurity verbally out of him...indicates she will force rk to reveal his thoughts when he is emotionally low...good sign i wud say! 😊

in the EDT i see that 'madhu doesnt understand rk' but, if she wudn't have understood him she wud have behaved like old madhu who would be angry and argumentative...but here she was very concerned...i loved the whole thing...i found it very positive...infact a good change in madhu...she heard Rk...she didn't say i'm right wala gyaan...

n u r right when she cared a damn abt padmini then rji kyu? they r too involved with each other to think about all this...

and honestly she knows rk ke bina rji cant live so she wont leave him...only rk is insecure about her newly found world and priority for madhu was to calm him down...

SD- Awesome post. It is a new phase, new chapter. Actually, because of this new phase, that we're going to have to see watch because of the impact on RK I thought my posts are going to become ranty and churlish, so i should reduce the length of my posts😆. As usual, you've steered me back. Thanks.😊.

Reg Aryan: you know I actually wrote a line last night, saying Sultan's attempt to get Aryan to bond were scary to me. I deleted it because I did'nt want to rant about one character so much.

War-and-Peace: I agree. The fact that she asked RK to vocalise his upset feelings was a big change. And the fact that he just needed that push to tell her what was on his mind, again a change.

This is exactly what i was about to write after reading so many posts about Madhu not

understanding RK... She does understand him.

She is just nudging him to voicing his fears and concerns which in turn will help people

to understand him more. It is good for him too.

Disclaimer - have not read any posts due to lack of time, hope I am not repeating thoughts already expressed.

The Day After -

Life resumes at the RK mansion with pretty much the same underlying emotions. Too much has happened but nothing has changed.

RK - great job BBBing Dips and an even greater job in preventing your Mom from leaving. First time was by tearing her ticket and agreeing to apologize and today by simple reasoning to have her around. I agree, need some positive forces in the RK mansion. Besides who knows, Rji might go MIA like Shamsher and Kukku if allowed to leave?😆

Madhu - still a perfect foil to her husband...interjects to reason with him, compose RK by following him to their room and ultimately stands by his decision. She is MRK now and I need to see her acting the part of a wife and DIL, befitting the Kundra name in the future track.

Rji - another correct decision taken by you for not going away. Your son is going to need you as he continues to build ties to the family, gather his sense of belonging and fight the on-coming forces.

Dips - unrepentant as ever...what can I say, some people never change

In contrast to the RK Mansion, change took place at Sultan's house with the addition of a new family member.

Sultan - kudos for the right approach to parenting today. He was firm with Aryan in making him understand that Grandma is here to stay and acceptance has to start. Wish he had done the same earlier when Aryan was getting too much attached to Madhu. Today, Sultan took the time out to patiently answer all the questions Aryan asked and explain the role played by both the Moms in his life.

My advice to Sultan - Battle is not to the brave, nor race to the swift, time and chance happen to everyone (from movie, Munich - 2005). Start accepting RM relationship and don't let it cloud your judgement.

Aryan - kudos kiddo...no hug in the mall, no hug in the chawl and today's follow up with happy to see Madhu on TV and not bothered at all to see her with RK (gandey log, was it?)...don't change in tomorrow's episode and keep it up😊

Meera - very good acting by ZW👏...getting scared by the honk, irritation with the seat belt in the car, focus and smile on seeing a mother carrying her infant, hesitation in entering a new place, attempting to play with Aryan were all endearing moments.

BTW, how did Aryan's commentary about Meera's emotions seem credible when he was sitting in the back middle seat of the car and could not see her frontal face? He accurately expressed each and every emotion of Meera , be it her tears, smile or wide eyed look.

Precap - serpent in paradise, you are outnumbered at the moment. But don't worry, misery loves company and it might arrive sooner than you think. Whether Sultan sides with her knowing the dirty trick she played on him for inviting him to the Bollywood party using Madhu's cell phone remains to be seen.

exactly Pooja...we cannot say that Madhu cannot "understand" RK, as understanding does not mean agreeing to whatever he says or blind support...both of them were right, it's just that they are different (i loved this dialogue in yeh jawani hai diwani)

I take your and Shri's word on this..I fail to understand Bhai and his emotions...😔 Bhai and Meera, Bhai and Bhindipie, Bhai and Madhu, honestly, samajhna bhi nahi hai..

Thanks a lot for this review Shri! Made me realise a lot of things that I missed first in the Rishbala haze and then in my impatience with the Sultan scenes.

Bold - That is exactly my problem with Madhu. The way she switches off from one relationship when the other relationship becomes her priority. I kept ranting about Madhu totally ignoring her family during the wedding preparations. And yesterday when Radhaji announced that she was planning to move to Delhi for a few months, Madhu's reaction was like she was talking about going for a week.

Why did she need to ask 'kya hua RK?'. Does she not understand herself that Radhaji is one of the only two people he cares about? And her going away for months would pain him?

It is the same when she takes up a new issue too. When she took on RK in the beginning, she didn't even consider that he is the ruling king of the industry from which her whole family earns its livelihood. When she fell in love with Aryan on the rebound from RK, she didn't consider the safety of her family or the chawl people before bringing home a gangster involved in a raging gang war. And when she got RK back, she forgot Aryan in an instant. It is this trait of hers that is scaring me big time in this new track.

RK's and Madhu's reactions to Radha talking of leaving for a few months were very much in character.
RK's focus and motivation has been Madhu since almost as long as he has known her, regardless of his changing feelings for her. But he is at least obvious about the extent of his focus.
So long as Madhu is with him, he can consider his mother and others alongside.
If Madhu is not with him, all other concerns are dealt with only at the last moment, without wasting any time until then on any thought but Madhu.
The depth of his filial affection and caring for Radha has always been constant through the years, but it is now more overtly expressed and increasingly so, as he lets her know that she is invaluable to her son.
Madhu, on the other hand, since the time she first fell in love with RK, he has remained her focus and motivation for good or bad. But she is far less obvious or verbal about it.
Radha understood it well enough to ignore it when things were going well, and then to shed her own simple docile persona to plot to get the couple reconciled with the certainty that RK would otherwise revert entirely to a colder outlook.
Shamsher realized it in the aftermath of Madhu finding out about his trying to kill RK.
Trishna realized it much later. Only Padmini had never fully realized the extent of that focus, though maybe she has after the wedding where Madhu didn't acknowledge her until after the ceremony was completed.
Madhu tends to guard RK, his love fore her, and their relationship against all odds and possible threats. If she believes - however much mistakenly - that love is not threatened by something else, she'll let herself get distracted briefly at even a crucial time without considering the impression her actions may convey.
The upside is that such distraction on her part never remains prolongedly.
If RK or his feelings for her in any way seem actually imperiled, she brushes off all other concerns and individuals without a thought.
At the recent wedding, she noticed her mother but made no move to even acknowledge her, let alone persuade her to participate, because there was the fear that Padmini would spoil the happiness of the occasion by trying to hinder it.
But when she saw Roma and Trishna, she almost ran toward them midway through the ceremony, because their beaming faces showed they were happy for her wedding and would not be hindering it.
When she had been estranged from RK, her priority had remained his wellbeing, seconded by her need to have the balm of being needed and loved by someone to assuage the hurt of RK's denying he loved her. And yet, everything she did in reaction to his wellbeing threatened, she would either prevaricate about the reason, or furiously deny any concern or connection.
But as soon as she had RK's love with full assurance again, there was no thought for anyone else - not any recent attachment nor even her own mother.
She only thought of Padmini while deciding to keep her out of the loop lest she hinder the happy wedding, and then when she spent part of the pre-wedding night with Radha. Otherwise, her thoughts were focussed absolutely on RK.
Now, when Radha spoke of leaving for a few months, Madhu reacted exactly as she would to such an announcement from her own mother. She and RK are together, happy and well; the mother is not troubled in any way. So, there's no problem in such a parting for a duration.
It does not indicate lack of caring for either Radha or Padmini, simply a prioritization of the relationship that matters most to her.
If Radha or anyone else seems troubled, Madhu focusses attentively on that concern and gets it sorted, and then refocusses completely on RK again, deprioritizing utterly the person she had briefly focussed on.
It makes her characterization unique in a female lead, with that combination of ruthless focus in love and selflessness in prioritizing that one loved person above all other relationships that is the usual prerogative of the more iconic male leads in the past decade of Hindi TV serials.
RK is more overt in his focus on Madhu, but she is more centred on him, with the added practicality of dealing with anything which might be a distraction to their relationship. Her naivete remains the only flaw that tends to make such an approach backfire as often as not.
Neither of them will ever pick anyone else over each other unless with the confidence that the matter is not important enough to estrange them. And they both tend to manage to prove that confidence right by whatever means they see fit rather than permit any actual distance to increase between them.
