I can only talk about the parts that I watched, and of course it was Madhu and Sultan..
I feel some kind of satiation today, and only cause of Madhu. To find out that she really played RK and everyone, I 'd been waiting for some sign to see when she would bite, and voila!
She always told him she'd play his game but somehow never got to it. Only this time she was really pushed too far. He took over completely, smothered her, and that was what was required for her to fight back. To fight back in a manner that gets through his thick skin.
Yesterday I didn't blame Deeplai for trying to play her dirty tricks.. no one is at fault except RK. He had concocted this story between Madhu and Sultan way before any one. Way before Sultan and Madhu even thought they'd ever meet again. The man and his insecurities, his gargantuan ego ensure that no one has to be at fault or even make an effort to muddle his life. He is his own nemesis unto himself.
So, I loved Madhu today. That confident and controlled Madhu.. more so I loved that she enlisted Sultan's help.
There's a difference here.. she has not 'used' him.. Sultan knows he's only furthering her secret objective, that its a ploy, although he doesn't know what it is. When RK uses Deepali he leads her to assume that he is actually warming towards her. BIG difference.
So yes, I loved loved loved that she came to Sultan , and offered to help with his wound.
And my pulse raced when he couldn't control his rage and took a swipe at the table demanding to know why she underwent that humiliation.
The man is so ready to do anything for her, yet never crosses the line! The way he called it 'pain' and then swiftly changed it to 'feeling bad' about her insult..
He doesn't care about himself.. but its everything about her. yet he does not explain anything about why he does it. He leaves such questions like that.
I felt so touched with what he thinks of Madhu. That the woman she is, she fends for herself, and so the words in the text were not hers.
This is the strength of character I'm talking about, in both of them.
And this is the strange heart-wrenching restive, and a feverish yet calming bond between them, acknowledged, yet unexplained..
and how could I forget aaryan? The boy is just too adorable! and the father son duo, make my insides turn to mush..
Their scenes are so damn touching. I love Sultan as an erring , reserved faltering father.. and aaryan.. aww god. yeh he's not going to be kaka.. love them both!
But Madhu Sultan today.. their scene was just so brilliant.. it had everything , and everything was subtle, and strong and beautiful yet tender and honest at the same time.
I can now say , after a long long time, Madhubala was fantastic.
