Scene 7: Water Water Everywhere..

Damini woke up early the next morning. She was still restless from her outburst the previous evening. Why does this man get on her nerves?She didn't know. Today, she will be back in control, she said to herself. Time for some exercise, that will help me calm down..

After Damini was ready and just about to leave, She saw Prithvi sleeping, sprawled on the sofa. Her eyes softened a little bit lookingat his peaceful face. "How does this big brute look so angelic while sleeping", she thought. Just then, she noticed his foot hanging out of the blanket. She frowned a bit when she saw his slightly blue toe. She kneeled down and gently touched the injured toe.."O prithvi, I am soo sorry for this ", she thought repenting for her earlier devilish action. THen she got up, taking care that she didn't wake up her sleeping giant and went out for her jog. As soon as she had left, Prithvi face eased up and there was a faint smile on his face.

Prithvi was gone by the time, Damini came back to their room. Feeling a slight disappointment, she sighed and went to take her shower. The jog had not been useful at all, she thought. "Why can't she stop thinking about him" she groaned. She tried to think of all kinds of nasty things she can say or throw at him. By now, she was standing in front of the mirror, brushing her wet hair. She kept muttering angrily at the reflection she saw. She kept at it, while she was washing her hands. She kept at it, while she was tightening the tap.

The poor washer in the tap kept on turning till it could no more. But Damini was too engrossed in her thoughts to notice. She still kept at it until the washer gave up. There was a loud sound followed by water gushing out. Suddenly Damini found herself being soaked with water spout..." What the.., Damn Damn Damn", yelled Damini, trying unsucessfully to stop the water by her hands. She fumbled and fumbled, but the water pressure was too strong. Now, the water had started to fill up the bathroom floor. Damini found herself standing in a pool of water very soon." Dang it... Stupid dumb tap.. Mishrajiiiii.. "she yelled for the housekeeper. She had now filled up a couple of buckets.. Not that it helped..

Prithvi entered the room looking for his shades, when he suddenly slipped. "What is this?", he thought.. then Damini's screaming filled his ears..He rushed in the direction of the yelling, saying " What's going on,..." and he stopped. His eyes took in the scene. Damini holding her hands over the broken tap.. cursing fervently at the water.. Water buckets all around.

He rushed in around Damini..His hands went around her .. The water had now soaked him as well.."Damini, we need to shut of the main tap.. Let me look for it.. try to block the water.."..Damini yelled " What do you think I was trying to do.. dance in the water??? The main tap is under there.. ".. Prithvi got down to his knees and shut off the valve. The water sputtered and coughed till it finally stopped flowing. Prithvi got up and surveyed the damage. " Damini, what was ...".. Before he could finish, Damini turned around and faced him " So you think this is my fault too, Mr Know-it-all?"

Expecting a reply, Damini was surprised to find him staring at her. His eyes swept from her waist to her face slowly. She suddenly was conscious of him. His stare was tingling her. She felt her cheeks turning red. Prithvi couldn't take his eyes off Damini. Her wet clothes were clinging to her, outlining her beautiful figure. Her face was turning a beautiful shade of red. Drops of water were glistening on her soft hair. He moved a little bit closer to her. His hands went around her waist, slightly pulling her in. Damini had now turned beetroot red.

"Damini, what are you doing", her mind was telling her. But her heart was ignoring her voice of reason. Inspite of herself, she found her hands gently moving up from his waist.. her eyes getting lost and now admiring the wet white shirt clinging to his broad chest. She felt his abs, his chest gently. Her right hand clutched his shirt tightly. His cologne was putting her in a trance.

By now, Prithvi was staring dreamily at her. His fingers were outlining her face.. He brushed her hair aside gently. Damini's heart was racing. She saw a look on his face, that look, she had seen before. She could hardly look up to him, now. She blushed even more deeply. Prithvi leaned it,and Damini turned away slightly.Prithvi kissed her gently on her wet cheek. His lips started tracing the path from the cheek to her lips slowly.

"Damini Diiiiiiiiii, why is there water everywhere? What is going on?"... Roshni's voice rang out from their door. Prithvi and Damini suddenly came back to reality. Awkwardly and reluctantly, they let go of each other. "We are in here, Roshni", Damini found herself saying in a unnaturally shrill voice. Her heart was still beating fast. Roshni came in the bathroom, cautiously.."Di, what happened"?

She stared from Damini's face to her Jeej face. Prithvi was now standing with his hands crossed across his chest. "The tap broke and spilled the water everywhere, Rosh. Prithvi only helped in shutting it off", Damini said hurriedly. "Oh Ok..", is all Roshni could say before Damini bundled her out of the room.. and they both went in search of Mishraji.

Prithvi was left standing in the water.. wondering of what could have been..
